Well if you expected things to change at MARVEL
It wont, until Brevoort and his buddies are blacklisted from the industry it wont
We are back to the 90's with DC and Image domination on sales.
https://bleedingcool.com/comics/tom-brevoort-would-rather-make-marvel-fans-angry-than-indifferent/

Rich had enough of the bribes and faggotry.
And Marvel cant see that outrage is tanking their sales and no one is buying their #1 and relaunches anymore.
>>
I guess pandering to people who don't like comic books was a bad business decision.
>>
>The people who were unhappy made the very quick leap from, oh, he's Hydra to, oh, he's a Nazi, which is not really, in Marvel Comics anyway, exactly the same thing.

He's had writers call Hydra members who were born decades after WWII by current timeframe Nazis under his tenure. If you want it to be different, you need to actually write it differently. In fact, it goes the other way to the point forces in things set in WWII carry the brand of Hydra instead of traditional Nazi symbols.

My favorite thing is that they'll point to how comics are still selling as proof this method works but also hope you don't notice how a lot of those sales are incentive variant cover-driven

And if rage-buying really worked they wouldn't have to rely on relaunching every ten issues
>>
>You get a stronger reader reaction by damaging the characters than by simply killing them.
>>
>>152762232
didio pulled this shit and tanked DC sales for nearly 2 decades with johns and snyder fixing the boat
>>
>>152761904
Can someone just frame him for racism already
>>
>>152762481
Even rightfully calling byrne a pedo didnt work either, imagine brevoort.
>>
>>152761904
>Brevoort reiterated his enrage = engage mentality.
In other news, water is wet and the sky is blue.
>>
>>152761904
That's ancient news, he's openly admitted this as his MO this for decades now. Problem is, the idiot never considers the fact that constantly goading people into outrage directly leads to apathy.
>>
>>152763036
Also presumably piracy following "vote with your wallet" meaning don't buy it.
>>
>>152763036
This is from a new interview which means it’s still Marvel’s MO for comic sales. I didn’t watch the interview because I think Brevoort is an insufferable faggot and can’t stand him but I’m guessing the interviewer didn’t have the testicular fortitude to point out to Brevoort that this doesn’t actually work judging by Marvel’s sales in current year.
>>
>>152763200
And all marvel sales are tanking against DC and Transformers Energon Universe.
They arent even top 15 anymore, is all DC and Image
>>
>>152761904
You people need to stop buying their shitty comics.
>>
>>152763885
Judging by Marvel’s sales a majority of people have. They’re currently kept afloat by speculators and Disney money
>>
>>152762481
brevoort already said that there were no viable black male x-men characters to have their own book/lead a team
brevoort already posted AI images on his blog
brevoort already has misogynistic views when it comes to Mary Jane Watson
brevoort already greenlit John Byrne to come back and make his X-Men fan fiction thing he was writing into an official Marvel book
cb cebulski already did yellowface
now you know that cancel culture isn't real
>>
>>152763885
I can't not buy them any more than I already do
>>
>>152761904
He doesnt realize that to defend against antagonism people become indifferent. He trolls readers but never actually makes anything good or interesting, its just stomping on idols because that's easier than managing the retards in the writing pool or coming up with ideas. Marvel as a whole has swollen so much with theMCU projects that comics are now an afterthought.
>>
>>152762086
Indifferent people will keep buying a book because it's habit. Pissed off people will stop buying cause they're pissed off
>>
>>152764019
Cancel culture is real only in that its targeted against specific people and used by people with ulterior motives. It isnt real in that it is not spontaneous and an action by a faceless mass. Brevroot hasn't been targeted because no one pays attention to him and all his enemies dont want his job. He is too pathetic for the mob to rouse against him, so he is ideal to be a part of the mob.

>>152764649
He literally tanked X-Men by aping the same 90's faggotry that nearly killed marvel.
Instead of making the mutants accepted by everyone without the krakoa faggotry, we are back to the 90's status quo but worse.
>>
>>152764798
Will there be an Onslaught remake that sends the X-Men, Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Ghost Rider into a new universe for a year?
>>
>>152764871
Onslaught is still alive so...
>>
>>152761904
That reminds me of something.
>>
>>152761904
I like how he doesn't even consider the possibility of making good comics.

Honestly, I don't know what this personality trait is but it must be something where they were just timid and overweight their whole lives and bullied or something so now that they're in a position with some power over something there abusing it to try to lash out at people and destroy something that people care about.

Something similar happened to a hobby club I was apart of that was registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. I don't know why it was a very small group. Anyways, the guy who had been running it for literally ever finally stepped down because he and his wife wanted to have a kid in their 40's and the other guy who ran things moved away so both the CFO and CEO positions opened up. This one guy who everyone tangentially knew ran for CFO and got voted in because he said he was a CPA or something so everyone figured he would take care of everything and we never got another CEO so a friend of his became the "acting CEO" until we could get candidates for an election. Overnight they passed a "mandate" that everyone who came to D&D night or any other event had to be masked, vaxxed, and boosted or they would be denied entry (this was in like 2024 by the way) and then they said it was "against the law" for us to invite people to games weren't members (it wasn't) and because of this our membership rates skyrocketed from like $20 a year to almost $100 and they started trying to charge everyone almost $60 to come to games.

As you can imagine everyone got mad and was like: "what are you doing?" and he started throwing a fit saying "I would rather this club didn't exist anymore than do the things in a backwards, outdated way and if that means running this club into the ground so be it."
>>
>>152766424
They started listing off a bunch of other "decrees" acting like they were basically kings of the club or something but after some research the rest of us discovered that they couldn't actually do this and it was in our bylaws that we had to vote on these measures. They then tried to say we couldn't vote because it was too complicated to get everyone together to vote but after threatening to report them for breaking the law we did and all their B.S. got shot down. They were both pretty salty about it and started trying to get some of their friends to join so they could all out vote us and make us start doing it again but then the Israel/Palestine stuff happened and the "acting CEO" was jewish so they both threw a fit and said they were passing a "moratorium" on discussing the issue because it was "uniquely sensitive and complex" but everyone told them to screw off about it and we could vote on it if they wanted to push the issue so they both rage quit and left the club.

I imagine Brevoort and these guys are like those two. Just sad, little people who are using their position of influence over something people care about to lash out and try to feel like they're the bully for once. Like, if they got fired they wouldn't write about an OC that's some uninteresting loser who has to hangout with his ex and her new BF. They're only doing it because they get to feel like they're destroying something people like

This mutant hating is something that will never die. See how rascist the west became after the 90s bring so diverse.
>>
>>152761904
Not making people indifferent is too much work, pls understand.

>>152763926
The reprint line was doing well for a long time, but they've started printing the stuff that nobody bought on the first go.
>>
>>152764731
I feel like that shit has mostly run its course as well. All the people who didn't care about comics don't care about comics again and the front ranks of the mob seem to be lying low for the time being.
>>
>>152766424
He knows it's not possible to make good comics at Marvel these days.
