how does he do it? jump off and fall like this only to swing when he is mere meters before hitting the ground? specially since he relies on tech, web shooters, havent they never failed him?? (couldnt google a better gif)

I think he's asking how Peter always has the guts to just launch himself off a skyscraper when there's a non-0 chance of his web shooters failing and him going splat.
>>
>>153098297
He can do it because it's fucking fiction you weird autuist
>>
>>153098297
If he was in danger of actually falling, his Spider-sense would likely warn him beforehand, though even that isn't always a guarantee.

>>153098297
he used the web shooters to get that high up.
so he knows they worked well that day.
the only danger he has is running out of web cum. but he probably refills it daily.

should he die from the fall? he landed on a safe spot there, i'm talking about street concrete, specially given the angle

hell, what if a villain hacks or disables his shooting device mid-air?

>>153099035
>>153098297
his web shooters can fail at any time when he's gliding around or just going home.
it's not limited to him jumping out.
his villains could shoot at his arms at any moment
>>
>>153098297
Cause it looks cool, and he's a comic book character who succeeds in doing impossible things cause they look cool.
>>
>>153098297
i assume you don't realize how big the spider mutation actually is. Imagine a colibri. They are able to almost stay on one place in the air. Picture Spiderman doing the same but just multiplied by X

OP is talking about his web shooters failing.
>>
>>153099083
i wonder how cool his fights with culture are
actually i remember this one game, web of shadows, maaan that game was peak fun, my favourite spiderman game ever. the aerial gameplay and combat was so much fun
>>
Natural webshooters are superior to tech nonsense. Sorry. You're SPIDER MAN not man with some abilities of a spider granted by the spider god because you got bitten by a radioactive spider and you also have insane strength because um you just do OK but you CANNOT produce your own webs you need to be a super genius nerd to make it so we can have you run out of web cum for drama later on.

Hummingbird, Jósé.

Wasn't there a great page from Scarlet Spider where Kaine is trying to swing around Houston and just runs out of buildings?
>>
>>153099083
That's not a pure nosedive with seconds before kissing pavement. He can grab something if it fails during a normal swing
>>
>>153099035
I've seen a page before where spiderman falls and misses landing in a pool- he cratered, but managed to limp away from it. His durability is probably just based on writers preference, but he's pretty hardy in most iterations.

Spider-sense goes off when he starts to be in danger of dying from a fall. Anytime his head is not buzzing he is fine.
>>
>>153098822
Wouldn't his spider sense kick in if they were about to fail and cause him to die
>>
>>153101500
based on asking chatgpt, 75kg peter falling off a 100m building on to concrete would generate about 100 tons of force, it's in the same ballpark as him catching the car in civil war, 50-250 tons. it's a shitty comparison, but peter shouldn't really be worrying about it much

There have been times his webshooters don't work and he manages to survive. Usually when he's being attacked. I don't know if there's ever been a time he straight up has a webshooter failure with no indication of it happening. I suppose it'd be something like this image >>153102382
>>
yes
>>
>>153098297
I'm sure he'd survive if he just fell. He is super-human after all. Even if heavily injured

He has super reflexes. Theoretically he could die if he got shot with a regular gun but he is able to just always dodge out of the way. I recall one comic where he gets a net thrown on him and starts freaking the fuck out that he can't get free when someone with a gun starts heading over.

>>153098942
>>153101685
Spider-Sense isn't even just hyper reflexes. The way it's been portrayed in comics is that it can go off if there's an imminent danger even if there is no logical way for Peter to have been able to have sensed it. Like Spider-Man walks through an abandoned building and right before standing over a part of the floor set to explode underneath by the Punisher he goes "MY SPIDER-SENSES ARE TINGLING".

It's almost like a low level ability to sense the future.

Spider-man's bones and muscles are super dense because they have to be as tough as he is strong so his spider-strength doesn't tear his own body apart. So while he's not immune to bullets or anything that would cut or pierce him, he's much more resistant to blunt force and fall damage than normal people.

He phrased it weird, but this is something I find really interesting the think about, not just with Spider-man but the psychological changes that would come from living with any super power. Spider-man is a great example because having an early warning for something as vague and ever-present as "Danger" would change your perspective so much. Imagine the confidence you could approach life with knowing that nothing that can harm you can catch you by surprise.
>>
>>153105285
why is it called spider sense anyway. do real spiders have it?

I mean I have an anxiety disorder which makes me watch for danger ahead of time so nothing really catches me off guard but I'd say it doesn't make confident, just makes me feel horribly tweaked out and horrified most of the time, cause a lot of the times the scenarios I create in my head never come true

>Spiders of all kinds have long been known to be sensitive to vibratory stimulation, since vibrations on their webs or on foliage alert them to the presence of prey. If the vibrations are within a defined frequency and amplitude range, spiders attack the vibration source. Vibrations with characteristics outside these biologically meaningful ranges do not induce an attack response. […] the spider has over 3,000 strain sensors in its body, mostly on the legs and in vibration receptors located near the leg joints. Each strain sensor comprises a series of arrays of tiny parallel slits in the compound lyriform slit sense organs that detect vibrations and movements. When forces are applied the slits are compressed and stimulated.
The only living thing we know of that is more sensitive to vibrations than spiders is the cockroach, plus they have great eyesight.
