I guess it can also be chalked down to that both the jedi in those show seem quite average and not at super powerful levels like Yoda or Obi Wan but I just enjoy how everything feels like an upward battle for them. This show really loses steam whenever it cuts to the fucking cop and his family life. Maul feels like he is third casting in his own show.He should have been able to toy with that inquisitor, and finish the job quickly.
