If you have enough experience with YA, pulps, genre fiction and anime you can get a sense for what men like in self insert characters and Jax doesn’t really meet any of the archetypes. He’s closest to the bad boy antihero which is a thing but revealing that is all a front and he’s really realistic panic attack man underneath shatters that angle for him. At a certain point all that’s left is guys who want to fuck Pomni pretending he’s something else.
