I think that Abstractions are caused by different things.First things first.I think we have every strong evidence that the SOMA theory is true. Especially with Caine saying in ep 8, "I made a body that fully encapsulates their mind files" and the computer in ep 8 with the C&A neural scans.In the pilot, we learn that abstractions are caused by losing your mind. It could be possible that when you reaching your breaking point the mind files corrupt themselves therefore a loss of important data. This creating a monster avatar like Kafumo and the other abstracted characters.In episode two after Gumigoo is deleted. Caine says "if I start to lose track of who's and npc and who's a human....who knows what could happen." The way how his face is filled with dread explains that something very bad will happen if he does. It could be possible that if Caine deletes an human, he is essentially deleting their mind files which could also lead to abstraction because of a loss of important data.Then in episode 7, after Jax's crash out. Caine says "...add modifiers to make things more interesting and that's it if I did anything more, trust me it would not end well". Additionally, Caine gets really nervous and panicky the topic changes to about abstraction and messing with their minds.This could also mean if Caine tries to mess with the players mind files too much he could make a mistake that causes their mind files to be corrupted. Therefore leading into abstraction.I think that abstraction is not caused by one sole thing. It could be different things with one core aspect which is the mind files being corrupted that causes abstraction. Think about it, abstraction is basically death. We as humans can die, but we all die from different things. We all have one thing in common, our vital organs give out and we die.So why not abstraction?

I had a dream that in the finale it was revealed that they were all stuck in a time loop and everyone but Jax were aware. The loop being broken hinged on Jax making a certain choice but every time they've gotten to this point, he makes the wrong one. It took place in one of Caine's adventure settings, a suburban neighborhood, but because he's dead it was dead/dark, you couldn't see much further than front yard of the house they were in. Jax took off running deeper into the house and the rest of the group tried to follow, meanwhile every now and then there'd be this loud banging on the outside of the house. They find Jax in the basement and he's trying to conjure Ribbit back to life but the best he can do is make these weird tadpole eggs that he kept eating. Then they went back upstairs, Ragatha looked at the kitchen window and screamed at something she saw and then I woke up. Also I shit you not David Lynch was with them the whole time.
