Being annoying in fiction is unironically the worst crime a character can do.They can be murderers, rapists, pds or whatever and im going to wait to see why they are like this, what they will do next and what other characters will do about them, but if a character is annoying and you don't give me a reason to immediately care about them, there's simply nothing you can do to make them enjoyable and people have to look for other reasons to pretend to like them.A character like ragatha is annoying but the show actively ignores her so much that i have no reason to dislike her, I mentioned before that you should give me a reason to care, immediately you can guess she is a domestic abuse victim because of her eye so there a reason to want to know more about ragatha but a character like jax isna complete blank face, his design is boring and doesn't say anything and you have to wait until ep 5 to be forced to watch him because before he is just a prick for no reason but at least you could focus on the other characters, from ep 5 you get jax shoved on your face and they still don't give you a reason to care about him because all his issues are self inflicted so far and im supposed to believe his issues are so important and so interesting that it deserves to be the focus of the final ep above the final confrontation with Caine.How am i supposed to care about a character that is annoying for no reason, haven't got a reason to care for in 8 episodes and then act like he deserves the focus of the final.Jax doesn't have any real fans, the people that pretend to care about him are either self inserters that want to fuck pomni, mentally ill fags that want their mental illness to be reflected in a show or ironicfags that like him because others dislike him.Fuck jax, fuck goose, fuck his fans, fuck you.

Part of that is that Duffy doesn't really know what he's doing; the tropes ring of teenagers' creepypasta, the biblical references have no real point to them, the "glitched text" is just rot23 cypher, and Jester is very much an "evil just because" villain at this point which is a type of villain that is only appealing to children unless it is played for laughs.Which is why as far as digital horrors go, it is pretty bad. But I reckon that Duffy never really intended for the series to blow up the way it did; from the start he wasn't taking it too seriously and just using it to develop his animation skills.
