What’s interesting about Kinger, Ragatha, and Jax is that even though their methods of coping with the situation are unhealthy and harmful to them, it remains a fact that they are the only three members who have managed to survive for a lot of years without abstracting, even though they’ve had to watch many others abstract. in Kinger’s case, watching the entire original group, including his wife; Ragatha has seen several who arrived after her abstract; and Jax has lost his best friends. Kinger is unaware of his own existence most of the time, Ragatha always feels alone, and Jax deludes himself into believing that nothing is real. They’re all in terrible situations, yet they haven’t abstract, which demonstrates an incredibly strong mental fortitude.
