Jax's death comes completely out of nowhere and the story makes him have to do a complete reversal on his character development in order to get there. There's an entire arc about him slowly opening up and becoming better and he shows clear signs of improving the entire time. Goose formed a whole ass character arc for Jax where he does in fact improve and demonstrate a desire to get better and we get to see how he came to this asshole state in the first place and that he suffered because of it, and then it just gets tossed out and he dies. It's just simply bad.

I honestly think the main issue is that this story was NOT worth stretching over almost 3 years. It's not nearly as complex and deep as people hype. Many of us predicted alot of the major beats since episode 1. Jax's deal of being a secretly traumatized wooby. Kinger being a programmer. SOMA theory. So the past 2 years have been just slowly getting dripfed what we already knew and people deluded themselves thinking the show waas more subversive than it really was
