I don't like abstraction being permanent but I do think there are characters who probably have some big block that makes it virtually impossible. Like Kaufmo for example, whose abstraction happened when he realized he couldn't escape the circus. The characters wouldn't be able to assure him because they all literally can't leave the circus.But I think Jax was capable of it, and by extension of he ever got even a sliver of gut to himself he could potentially save Ribbit by doing a deep dive and apologizing to her since he's the root of her own abstraction.
