I've been thinking, but I think Homestuck was always doomed to have a shitty ending because Hussie as a person has no actual beliefs or convictions. We all know how irony poisoned he is, but there's also the fact that he believes in nothing earnest to weave into the narrative and give it a solid impact. This is why all the characters stagnate and decay. They have no goals and motives because their own author lacks them. this why Caliborn is interesting because he embodies these aspects of beliefs and personal growth -- because he was written out of spite.

The reason I'm batting for June so hard is partially because while I am the demented fujo shotacon I also do in fact care about writing beyond my "special interests" let's say. I don't have a ton of familiarity with the full range of nazi symbols, but some people have pointed out the similarities with the black designs specifically, and I can definitely see why such a comparison would be made. This was absolutely not my intention.So now I'm saying the rule is the class symbol is always the same as the LIGHTEST color in the aspect symbol. That means for certain aspects (void, doom) you use the background color, for all others you use the icon color. That way the darker colors don't trick the mind into the same reaction as black does. I'm also dropping the rule that active/passive symbols are two different colors. They can both be the light aspect color. The positive/negative space inversion can work well enough to show the active/passive difference.Part of the reason these were so simple and abstract was to allow for the fandom to do what the fandom does best and create their own takes on it without being too restrictive. I’ve already seen some great iterations on the designs, especially ones that incorporate the lunar sway, or even combine multiple classes together creatively, and I’m happy to see people having fun with it.
