>>154994048According to an interview Kishimoto based them around Taiga and Natsu, if so it makes sense since to the japs this is a totally normal and not-sexual.
If you had to pick a direction for Spiderman's involvement in the MCU's X-men stories which would you prefer? >Spiderman is an ally to the X-men due to his history with Jean and being a good guy. This causes the general public to turn against Spiderman, maybe even making them believe he's a mutant too. They can play up Spidey forgiving Jean's crimes.>The X-men hate Spiderman for inventing the inhibitors maybe the Sentinels get tied to him too if they're based on Stark tech and are in constant conflict with him. This causes the general public to turn against mutants even more since they love Spiderman, and Jean is caught in the middle.
>>154994042Well being able to instantly learn a skill by reading minds is just too convenient>>154994037But I guess spending more time with Peter is a good excuse not to use it.
>>154993551Spider-Man is Highly satanic because it supports the act of cuckoldarianism
So given the nature of the MCU and the issues that rise from live action, eventually Peter's gonna have to retire. Holland can't play this character forever, so Peter's gonna have to die to get booted off into another universe never to be seen again, something along those lines. So I think Peter's end should coincide with the end of the Phoenix Saga, where Jean becomes the Phoenix and eventually dies as he tends to do, but Peter's with her in her final moments and they both explode/get sent to another universe and can never return or something.

Peter's immunity to Jean's powers means she has to learn social interaction the old fashioned way. Even in the end of the movie she wasn't able to fully possess himNotice that Peter physically reacted to Frank about to shoot and ejected Jean from his mind. If she could infiltrate him then she would have seen the bullet coming too
>>154994071>Jean can't send her love or her sexy thoughts directly into Peter's brain>this is infuriating for her since she's so used to the easy way of getting people to do what she wants>has to seduce him the old fashioned way>it never works because he doesn't consider cuddling or a small kiss enough to mentally register himself as her boyfriend>has to beg him to touch her beyond hugs and innocent kissesPoor Jean.
>>154994306>>Try to pass the torch to Miles and have him take over as the new main MCU SpidermanI remember seeing something about this already being planned for the far future, and like you already said it'll inevitably fail or just not meet expectations leading to them freaking out. >>154994407I'm really annoyed that Friendly Neighborhood decided to make fucking WAVE Peter's love interest but if we're lucky she's just a distraction love interest. the mcu has created a situation where people would rather have peter date rapist jean grey over alt girl mj
>>154994650I personally do not like Sakura, but I was thinking the same thing:>from the moment they met, Peter saw her taking over people's bodies left and right>endangered hundreds of civilians in the process as well>took over his ex and pretended it was her to trick him into kissing her>proceeded to kill her too>held millions of civilians hostage>despite all that, Peter still wanted to save her>allowed her into his mind with his FULL consent>took a bullet for her with no hesitationHe is unironically crazy.Genuinely, Peter pulled an Emiya Shirou in this movie.
>>154994732Jean is just a more interesting character. I think that goes really far. Their interactions become a lot more complex as a result, and that just makes things more engaging.

>>154994756I mean it KINDA made sense with Strange, because his body was just independently reacting to Strange's actions. But what's going on here? Are his brain cells interacting to her telepathy? Are his brain cells, like, dodging her attempts to read and control them?
>>154994726He's just mentally stronger than the average new yorker I mean have you seen what he deals with on the daily
>>154994732This is alt girl MJ. Zendaya is not playing an alt girl, she is just playing a generic and boring snarky smart girl.

>>154994772>Are his brain cells, like, dodging her attempts to read and control them?Maybe. Also keep in mind he is less resistant to it once Jean's power grows and she even notes this. So his spider-sense gives him some reactionary resistance on a cellular level but its not 100% resistant.
>>154994790>end of MCU
>>154994740Glad I am not the only one. I don't like Sakura either–I'm more of a Kohakufag–but Jean makes this dynamic work better because she has far more personal agency than her.
>>154994143>Spider-Man is beloved by the general public, and due to the lack of understanding on who he is or how his powers work, he's actually used as a symbol for how Mutants are good for the world despite being actually being a Mutate>However, because he invented the Inhibitor chip, which was adapted into the EM-resistant Inhibitor Collar, and because be isn't really one of them, he's despised by the X-Men and Brotherhood to the point of being Kill on Sight for some mutants>Cyclops loathes him, both for the above reason and because he secretly resents how he's seen as the face of the goodness of mutantkind (a title he believes he has earned) despite not being one of them>Jean admires and respects and maybe loves Peter because of his heroism and kindness in the face of suffering>Cyclops falls in love with Jean for her resilience and unshakeable goodness, not realizing that she learned both of those things from Peter. His affection for her (and her seeming obsession with defending Spider-Man) causes his hatred for Spidey to fester>The next time they meet, a scuffle breaks out, with it seeming like Peter is working with the government on the inhibitor collars (when in reality he's broken in attempting to sabotage them to make up for his mistake)>Scott's rage fuels his power, creating an optic blast potent enough to bring the whole building down>Peter pushes him aside, holding up the entire facility to make time for the X-Men to escape at the cost of his own life>Jean rushes there as she feels Peter's mental signature and very life force snuff out, finding his corpse standing there, still holding up the building even in death>She finally awakens the Phoenix as she cradles his lifeless body in her arms with a burning hatred for the X-Men and an oath to never leave his side again
>>154994650>>154994740"Let's go home, Sakura" and "You have me" have the same energy

Im surprised they showed some restraint with Jean's reveal, which is rare for Marvel. I feel like, had this movie come out a few years ago, we would have gotten the 90s X-Men theme play when they reveal her name (like how they included it in the Ms. Marvel show and DS 2) and mentioned mutants, Phoenix force or something when she was being studied and her powers started to evolve and go crazy.
So Peter and MJ aren't even in doomsdsy? What a tragic waste. I don't care about Doom Tony and MCU cap should be over now

>>154994952I thought it was a pretty interesting character beat to have her be able to articulate why it was morally wrong to just leave her in the dark for 5 years basically turning her into a different person against her will.In a way it reflects what Jean is able to temporarily to do people. Michelle is more annoyed at what Peter did than what Jean did and that's primarily because she had an entirely different life before and Peter had the opportunity to give that life back to her and he didn't take it

>>154994851>>154995053exactlyMCU Jean does bad things because she was never given a chance in her life by humanity. Comic Jean does bad things because she gets in bad moods and has no self control MCU Jean basically thought she was living in a world of villains. >>154994884Shirou is basically just Peter if he was bitten by a radioactive sword
>>154995027There is no way Jean hadn't killed any people with her insane antics in the first half of the movie, and the way she mentally tortured Peter in MJ's body–who she also almost killed by throwing her off the roof–didn't look good either. >>154995084The biggest problem with Sakura and Shirou in Heaven's Feel is that the first two routes did a very poor job setting up their relationship. Shirou has spent by far the most time with Sakura compared to the other two, and it makes sense logically that he would go that far for her, but we barely interact with her in Fate/UBW so it's hard for us to relate. It creates an unfortunate disconnect between the character and the audience since he has so much history with her we didn't get to experience. It took until Prisma Illya for me to finally get it since Oath Under the Snow is just a much better version of Heaven's Feel
Haven't seen the movie yet. Is Spider-Man still affiliated with the Avengers? Also how did Peter deal with the complete erasure of his civilian identity? What's the process for that?

>>154995434>>154995622This scene tied directly into her breakdown so each at the end. Are you Peter Parker or are you Spider-Man?Jean has decided that she has to be her Power. She has to be the force of nature that destroys everything. Humanity didn't give her a chance so why should she give them a chance. The government killed her sister. The only connection she had to decency was kidnapped from her. She is very much thinking with Loki's mindset hereBoots don't have a "quarrel" with ants. They just disregard their lives. People are monsters. "Why would a man who's half spider side with an organization that hunts down anyone who's different"She thinks Peter is protecting monsters. Jean is being a bad guy here, make no mistake, but her entire morality is already warped
>>154995664>Jean tying her hair back, hair tie in mouth, giving Peter the “fuck me” eyes, and getting ready for another round
I thought it was interesting that at the end of the movie Jean reads Peters mind as a dominance display. She didn't have much to gain from doing it at that point The movie didn't clarify what she was planning to do to him. She just threatened that she could get inside his brain now and then he told her to do it. I think she was probably planning on sniffing for information to hurt him for not knowing his place. I think she was also doing it to prove "You are not safe from me, I can get in your head now"

>>154995622People forget that Jean has to be a problem for Peter to solve and that's how movies work And that throwing her in jail or giving her up to damage control are not solutions. She needed to be talked down. She needed to learn the lesson Peter learned.
>>154994407Maybe. Maybe not. Even though I would love it if they did end up together, I would still absolutely love it if they were quasi-siblings. Jean lost her sister, Peter lost his aunt (and I guess Ben) and Frank lost his wife and children. A found family is nothing new to the MCU but it's still pleasant, though admittedly they'll have to skirt through Frank and Jean's penchant for violence and Jean's attempts to fuck Peter's life. Maybe we will get an elseworld. I have almost no faith that it will be canon, despite the fact that many of the phase one heroes have had to deal with shake ups in their love lives; Stephen had his love interest marry another man, Peter Quill's in a similar boat to Peter Parker, Thor's love interest is dead. But Tomdaya are professionals and both have been roles where they've been in other relationships; Dune certainly springs to mind for Zendaya. It's just I can't help feel like they'll break the spell, Michelle will get back with Peter and nobody will have moved on. NWH's ending will have had no consequences aside from May's death. Maybe it's just my pessimism, maybe I can smell the psychosphere. I'd like to be proven wrong. I just hope that Peter and Jean continue to be close. They've knocked it out of the park and making her the deuteragonist was genius.

The justification given is that Thanos is a fanatic and is convinced in his way is THE way. I find Peter in a similar position. It doesn't matter if Jean logically should be seen as irredeemable. What matters is that Peter thinks she can be redeemed because he's Peter Parker. Spider-Man defeated the Hand and the Hulk and all the others but Peter Parker saved the day by opening himself up to her. He took Thanos's stubbornness and gives it a positive application.

>>154995823It's sort of the relationship Peter has with a lot of his antagonists. >Vulture: "You don't know shit, you're just a kid. If you don't fuck off, I WILL kill you.">Mysterio: "I'm better than you, smarter than you, you can't beat my tech and if you get in the way, I WILL kill you."Likewise, the relationship that Peter has with all of his antagonists, including the ones in No Way Home, is that he's always trying to appeal to their humanity, to reason. It just doesn't always work. And he's always trying to save them from themselves, which is a bit hit or miss.>Homecoming: Peter manages to save Vulture from his tech exploding. >Far From Home: Mysterio's too retarded so in spite of Peter's best efforts, Mysterio dies from accidentally shooting himself.>No Way Home: Peter tries to help all the villains, which blows up spectacular in his face when Norman murders May. Peter nearly loses himself in vengeance, but is stopped by the other Peters. In the end, Norman is saved and Peter loses almost everything, but the other Peters were able to save him by allowing him to keep his compassion.>Brand New Day: Despite having lost everything, Peter still tries to save Jean. And he actually succeeds. What makes Peter somewhat unique in the MCU is that he's always trying to save everyone, for better or for worse. Because let's be real, most of the MCU's superheroes usually just end up killing their enemies or pummeling them half to death. There ARE exceptions, of course. Steve managed to save Bucky, Thor repeatedly tried to show compassion for Loki with extremely varying results. With Peter and his villains, he's usually trying to stop them from going too far. With Jean, he actually succeeded. His compassion is his defining quality. That's why he was able to save Jean in the end, because he keeps losing everything but he never loses his compassion. I mean, except that one time when he almost did, but again, the other Peters managed to save him.

And he immediately falls into the familiar dynamic with Ned and then there's the handshake, something easily read as just him realizing this is Spider-Man or perhaps something more. Is the handshake actual muscle memory, or just a sign that MJ and Ned haven't changed so much in five years that they're no longer the people who became Peter's friends and loved ones given time to know him?Again, hedging. Nothing in the movie solidifies a direction, beyond them explicitly and narratively highlighting that the spell can't just be "broken" conveniently. But it feels easy to imagine they can just have MJ fall in love with Peter all over again.
>>154997036New York makes zero sense in the Marvel universe because so many heroes are based there yet somehow rarely interact with each other, or respond to threats that would logically incur a reaction from all of them since they're all living in the same general area. It gets even more hilarious when you realize most of it isn't even in New York City as a whole, but rather just Manhattan.
>>154996766AA ANO HI NO YUME>>154996671Save for the hand-sing, Jean's body hopping shenanigans could be inspired by the Yamanaka clan technique, especially with the whole "the victim doesn't remember it" stuff.
>>154997087>>Complete silence while everyone processes her accidental fantasy revealThankfully she can just memory wipe everyone in an instant so her secret keeps safe. Until like fucking Emma or whoever digs into her brain for something to make fun of her for and discovers her mental shrine to that guy from New York swinging around showing his ass off.
>>154997157Rent in Marvel's NYC must be dirt fucking cheap, honestly.
>>154997048There absolutely are Cyclops fans, he's the powerful leader with a righteous cause, that will always appeal to some people. Amusingly most of his fans liked his AvX version the best, since it highlighted those two qualities while combining them with a ruthlessness and drive Cyclops hadn't had before, which added depth to his character.
>>154996048Something probably not intended at the time but is pretty poetic now is that, thematically, is that Peter is pretty much only capable of saving Jean in BND because Aunt May died in NWH (though in a more typical Spider-Man adaptation Uncle Ben also easily slots in there). It's entirely because Jean can look into his head and see the same kind of pain there and that Aunt May's words can also apply to her that Peter's final appeal works. It's a complicated piece of symmetry where obviously Aunt May dying is bad, but it reinforces what she was trying to say in NWH: that the cost is worth it if you can keep helping someone.
>>154997155I agree. They went out of their way to establish that MJ reads the letter and sees the original MJ as a different human being. Feels weird to backtrackDid anyone else find it a little odd that MJ is Ned's roommate? They were friends through Peter but they didn't show any sign of being close throughout high school. Even in No Way Home she seems to tolerate him because he's Peter's friend. It's like the spell filled in the blank of Peter being gone by just making them best friends
>>154997068What do you mean "superior"? I'm just qualifying what Cyclops is as a character. Whether you find a zealot for a righteous cause (questionably righteous, admittedly) appealing is up to you, but that is 100% what Cyclops is. It's the only consistent character trait along with being a strong tactician and leader he's kept over the decades, everything else about him has wavered and changed from writer to writer, so you cannot really argue that the core of the character is anything but his dedication to mutantkind and his desire to see them free. It's his entire reason for living, and what defines him as a character.

>>154996493>multiversal godActually, it wouldn't... yet. It would be marked as spider-totem first by the Great Weaver assigning it a role similar to how it assigned Peter's son Benjy Parker the title of Scion, and Mayday the title of Patternmaker, still if The Other were to attach itself ot their kid, and The Phoenix would also do the same, then the child would inherit the ability to tap into the Web of Life and Destiny and the White Hot Room simultaneously.

>>154997036It's easy enough to fluff it as like, even with Peter in nearly 24/7 Spider-Man mode, he just can't actually deal with anything. Him working closely with DeWolff (whose first name is apparently Jean, fucking hilarious) even helps out here: There's just so much shit going on, he doesn't ever end up dealing directly with Daredevil and Fisk too much. He'll rely on the police scanner and cases DeWolff's people have, but he's just not capable of getting to it all even in five years of near constant Spider-Manning.

Jean would be a great partner for Peter. He can keep her in check and ease her grief while she can help with stop being broke and rein in his worst sacrificial tendencies. Plus she actually can understand his situation unlike Zendaya.
>>154997127I more talking about her just not being 100% team Spidey all the time. That she doesn't come to him with everything or isn't willing to go to him with the mutants' problems because she's afraid he won't be as understanding or helpful as her now incredibly ideal experience with him was.Remember, I'm being conflict brained here. It'd also be fun to just have Jean be Ride Or Die for Spidey, but I think it makes the relationship more dynamic if now she's "withdrawn" cause she still kind of can't believe how much of a hero Peter was and is afraid of ruining that perfect moment by bring him something that might make him say no.Think Tsundere but tsun because she's afraid if she's too dere she'll be hurt even if we, the audience, obviously know she's just being overly afraid. Like an abused puppy that's way too hesitant to be petted and keeps growling out you even as it let's you comfort it.
Tom will get physical with the Paparazzi to protect Zendaya, I don't think they're breaking up any time soon. What I don't want is their personal lives to dictate the movies
Dandadan is garbage.
>>154997349Thing is he's gotta have a pretty large presence. Even if he's not actively one of Fisk's archenemies like in the comics, just by him doing things on a regular basis, he must have some sort of huge impact on the criminal underworld/superhero community. Like he's practically the Captain America of street level shit.
>>154997408Not to mention MCU Jean would be a good way to conclude a Symbiote arc. Have it be like Spectacular where it drags Peter into his own mind to drown him in grief only for a blinding light to help drag him out of the ashes of his grief and past failures like a Phoenix

But the movie is "spiderman and the Xmen" so a big bit of it is Jean being defensively tsundre until finally realizing Peter just is that guy, whole time Peter trying to repair a relationship that wasn't damaged in the first place, all while they fight sentinels or something.

Leave that for an Avengers crossover>There is no Xavier institute, Jean remains a hood rat struggling to make ends meet and starts the show with the barest form of telepathy and telekinesis strong enough to move a coin a few inches by extreme concentration. >>154997422That's just plain wrong. First of all, Momo was the only one to notice Takakura's existence much like Jean was the only one who noticed Peter Parker and not just Spider-Man. what's more, Jean and Momo also share similar powers.Regarding memory loss it also doesn't apply because Momo still feels attracted to him she just doesn't know why. Has anyone else started another thread yet?>>154998650
>>154994143I'd want it to be a dynamic that evolves over time. There are three stages I would want to see:>AntagonisticPretty simple. Jean isn't able to mediate for whatever reason (either incapacitated or busy) so when the X-Men are trying to figure out the inhibitors and trace it back to Spider-Man they get pissed at him. This results in Spider-Man having to fight several of them solo and being on opposite sides for a movie. Tie it into Avengers vs X-Men. >Forgiveness Jean intervenes and the others learn about her backstory, realising Peter made the inhibitors out of desperation and that he's arguably the only reason mutants have a fighting chance at a peaceful life (imagine what the reception would be if Peter hadn't stopped Jean) causes them to make amends with Spider-Man. Who then stands up for mutantkind publicly and causing a controversial split between New Yorkers who either start to dislike Spidey or choose to believe in him and support mutantkind.>EmploymentDue to Peter's history with the X-Men and support for mutants, they extend an invitation to him to be a teacher at the current incarnation of the school to help teach young mutants how to use their powers responsibly and coping with suddenly having them. This would put him in a crossover movie with the X-Men with his class taking a central role in the plot.

I'm playing the Sims 4 and I have Sadie and Peter. They aren't married, but they live together
>>154999335I'm not manipulating anything, but Zendaya, Tom's wife keep being nosy
>>154998475that makes absolutely no sense. Jean was still bad at the time, and also she was still unmasked, and not even revealed to be a girl yet even. There's absolutely not enough mental gymnastics to insert her in that scene.
>>154999351>tall Zendaya Lore accurate
>>154999266The conversation in BND has a very definitive tone. Michelle makes that pretty clear. Very different from Dandadan.

Honestly, I can't blame Peter for not telling Ned and MJ. That was the same movie in which Aunt May died. You could even make the argument that the reason she died was BECAUSE Peter was Spider-Man. I think, after what happened, it's hard to blame Peter for not telling them. Maybe it wasn't right, but the events of that film clearly left a mark on him. It's obvious why he doesn't have much of a social life as Peter Parker.
>>154999288nah that cartoon really sucks nothing good will come from it
>>154999406they passed their auditon
>>154999406Just make sure that Spider-man is ready to take on the assassin Zendaya Jones hired, CHIN MAN!!!!
>sims shit in /co/
someone make a new thread
>>154999442Right, I think people misinterpret what MJ says when she says he made that choice for her. The choice she's talking about isn't telling them or not, it's the choice to be with him or not. He didn't tell them because he didn't want them endangered by him, but he still could've told them and then they could've chosen to stay or leave.
>>154999442>You could even make the argument that the reason she died was BECAUSE Peter was Spider-ManPretty sure Aunt May died cause Peter's dumb ass didn't sent Norman back to get stabbed in the dick like he was meant to be. It was Norman Osborn's destiny to get rammed in the crotch by hose own glider. On a unrelated note I kind of wish they kept the scene of him working at a deli.
>>154999328>Jean grey meets guy who she can't instantly read mind of >There any chance the characters aren't welded to each other after inventing that little spider power wholecloth Trust the plan, they figured out how to save the MCU.
>>154999393And yet, she still hangs out with Spider/Peter despite being a stranger.
>>154999521Right, because the "spark" is still there. But a spark is not love. I think the easiest way they're going to get Peter back with Ned and MJ is just that it "feels" right and eventually MJ will fall in love again. But the movie is pretty blunt. She's dating someone else and not in love with Peter at the moment. How could she be, she doesn't know him. And we are told this by a character who specifically gets into a person's head.
>>154999472Look i found you in game. Go get a haircut fatty
>>154999152Well, this is disappointing. I know it’s not exactly a benchmark, but I was expecting more people.
>>154994740I kind of want to see a Spider-Man VN in a similar vein where you have a different route for each heroine. Marvel should bite the bullet and offer it to a reputable VN writer in Japan.
New thread? Someone bake!
>>154999888Nah just use this one>>154980581
>>154993922The 1610 version, yes
