That looks fucking incredible, anon. The thing is, though: it's not a game. There have been countless times when someone said "hey guys i'm working on something" and then nothing came of it, or, even worse, they set up a patreon and fleeced a couple thousand bucks with excuses about why the demo wasn't turning into anything playable.

I don't mean to discourage you by saying that, mind you - I would be hype as fuck if you continued working on it and would be more than happy to financially support you put out something with actual gameplay to it, and I'm sure many others feel the same way. It's just that the community has seen many WiPs abandoned or milked for cash, so folks tend to be cautious with their emotional investment.

Basically: please keep going, but don't be surprised when people who want a game don't get hype over something that's not a game.

A couple of months ago someone here gave an idea for a trap/feminization game and I was unfortunately not able to let go of it. I've been ""developing"" a sugarcube ""game"" from the idea, which is why I'm talking about it here.

To explain further, the idea presented was a kind of "feminization academy" game, so the focus here is playing as the dom/top and feminizing students. What I've been working on has been a stripped down version of that idea where you just focus on one character for a relatively short period. I wanted to try getting my bearings for sugarcube and for writing this kind of stuff first.

The ACTUAL academy idea is something I'd get to later, and would involve managing a full class of roughly 12 students. And a bunch of ideas lifted from Three Houses/Free Cities/Persona.

You should try to make the game's scope as small as possible to begin with because no matter what it will increase. Make sure you are using the best tools for twine by using vscode, github, and tweego. You really do not want to use the default twine editor.

Personally I'd prefer a narrative style (like a VN/dating sim) rather than trainer style, as it means scene progression makes more sense and they can be better written. That's just my opinion though, feel free to ignore. Anyway quick feedback;
- Add a default name for lazy people
- Would be nice to be able to check character stats any time, like have link in sidebar
- Remove the pointless grind, having to use the same option over and over seeing same/similar text sucks. If you insist keeping on trainer style, I'd suggest on cutting back the number of stats, to say just; femininity, submission and lust. Also recommend making stats "tiered" rather than big values, so like they have say 5 stages you advance through they changes how scenes play out
- Assuming you keep the stats as is, the 'bigger steps' should increase stats more, wearing a dress should increase femininity more than just wearing wig.
- I feel the option to force the kid to wear makeup/panties was too sudden and easy, should have to warm them up to idea first
- The things causing femininity loss seemed a bit random/illogical
- Minor script error with '$pupilName' popping up in text here and there

You have a functional skeleton, which is great. You wrote a progression and an ending, which is great. The issue right now is that there's no difference to progression between the students. The only change is to initial stats, not how the student progresses along the path. This is fine for more procedural/industrial games focused on volume of the trained like FC. But that feels impersonal, and in a game with only a few NPCs, each should have some individuality, which I feel is part of what >>10971841 anon is talking about in the first part.

Customization might come from a more defined familial relationship of the target. If MC has been hired by parents, their reactions to what MC is doing should matter. Perhaps add another weekly action for the MC/parent relationship, where MC has to convince student's parents this is the right course of action. Maybe make them care about the child not being defiant, or not stressing, as an interim target. "Well sure my kid is wearing girls' clothing, but the stress is gone, you must be doing something right." Without that, it feels like MC's power is absolute up until the very end. Could work in a boarding school where parents don't see the kid until winter break, though.

Thank you for the replies. I think that while a slider does mitigate the pain, the real pain is the fact, that the management interface and the clicks needed to get the clothes repaired is long/cumbersome. Hard to say exactly how I would envision a less cumbersome system. Perhaps, since I already move home-school, a way to access the repair directly from the entrance of the shopping centre? Enter-up-parlor--repair-confirm is definately a central culprit for me, I think. Or not, I don't know, I don't deal with UX on regular basis.

Okay, I've got a few thoughts about Ero Dungeons that I'd like to share.
It's very hard, a bit too hard for a porn game for sure. I mean I can respect the difficulty in games like RimWorld, Elden Ring and stuff like that, but it's not really interesting spending time reading ALL these perks and quirks and fucking million crests on each character, and personal growth goals when I got a dick in my hand.
The cursed equipment kinda sucks, at this point I don't wanna pick up anything from the chests, because I might catch another toilet brush mouth piece or a useless dick sword. And some of the equipment is almost impossible to take off, like achieve veteran level as a maid. How the fuck am I gonna supposed to that on a prisoner character?
Doing actual lewd shit in the game kills your progress, because the more advanced your crests are, the less stats you have and the eaiser it is for the enemies to kidnap you. I get that the point is to balance sexual stuff and combat, but it's very difficult.
Maybe I don't understand the game fully, because I haven't gotten far, but the cursed classes kinda suck? Nothing beats cleric, paladin and warrior combo, from what I've seen so far.
Also, no futas? Kinda sad.

Maybe I'm alone in this but transformations feel a bit inconsequential since NPC's largely still treat you the same. I wish they had a bigger impact on how the player is seen and treated by others.
Maybe ending up at the dog pound as a wolfgirl could lead to adoption as a soft bad end similar to Eden relationship, just with a bigger focus on petplay. Or is it still canon that transformations are just the player turning schizo?
I guess what I'm trying to say is I that I want headpats.

There are no hard plans to combine transformations with petplay content, though there's a wolf sequence like you suggest high on the maybe pile. Transformations are still ambiguously real, but if the PC is acting the part, it could work.
More petplay with beast content is planned. The pound has a lot of potential.

My opinion about cursed loot mechanics. I really dislike when cursed equipment is simply giving a debuff that is somewhat hard to remove. I think there should be more equipment that is actually useful and cursed at the same time, like if it comes with unique characteristics, not only the downsides. Think Finn's grass-sword - it's a very powerful weapon that is also cursed. Curses also might work not only as debuffs, but like afflictions in DD, for example making a character uncontrollably do some actions.

What's good is that it's quite customizable, lots of clothing options. It has a bit of DoL vibe but set on a university campus. maybe it's because I quickly slipped into a balance crack, but I found myself wishing that biomes felt more distinct. I often felt that because enemies die when they're killed, I could just brute force with more damage. dungeon runs quickly got to a point where they felt very bland because of a lack of unique and diverse features. I also got an intuitive sense of how they were generated and was generally able to run a straight line to the exit every time. I started running into rooms with persisting effects which such as apply burn which was nice

The game's difficulty is currently a bit wonky. It's too hard early on, and too easy later on. I'm slowly adding more elite enemies and eventually want to have an extra difficulty rank for enemy encounters. It already exists for slimes in the game's code, but those encounters are never triggered.

I hated rogues in regular parties, because they mess up the party order, which brings in a ton of micromanagement. And there is a lot of grinding, so keeping micromanagement to a minimum is crucial. But in a 4 rogue party the micromanagement goes away.

I wonder where the difficulty is supposed to go over the course of the player's journey. There are 4 levels of heroes with corresponding levels of dungeons, and the 1st boss castle is already harder than the 4th level dungeons. So after you beat the 1st boss, the difficulty and leveling progression is mostly done? What's the rest of the game about then? Or are the 4th level dungeons just underdifficult right now (lvl2 adventurers can do them just fine)?

However, until the (majority of) other enemy types are also adapted to this - which will slowly happen while I'm adding bosses - it can't be added.

Also, I've never seen any market for gameboy games, fake or not, regardless of if it's hentai or horror or whatever the fuck it is. Nostalgiabait games are usually used to hide the developer's lack of artistic skill. Not only are you competing with every game ever made, you're competing with games that had far more manpower and technical skill and contextual knowledge than you have. The reason game developers still survive when players could play any game made in the last century is because they keep making NEW things, not making OLD games, hentai isn't any different there.

Game development even for simple stuff is also infinitely more involved than just drawing or even animating hentai. The maniacs who do hobbyist game dev anyways are usually releasing demo projects much smaller in scope than your average porn game dev too.

The balance of the game is kind of all over the place and I wanted to try a tweak I thought make it a little better, namely making it so essences don't drop from combat. On the "hardest" difficulty especially you get absolutely insane numbers of them. I eventually just tried it with the unmodded game and it did help quite a bit, but there are many more things that really need to be done, especially with the economy and magic.

I remember having balance problems when playing unmodded LT. I wanted to make combat harder by increasing the difficulty, but that enables enemy level scaling and quickly floods you with XP all the way to the max level.

Couldn't you just ask them to leave your party? I stopped playing CoC2 after realizing I had to wade through an ocean of futa to get to the TF, but I remember being able to dismiss party members at will.
Unless you mean it in the "combat is balanced around a full party so going alone is nigh impossible" way, in which case I sympathize.

The game is 100% balanced around Brint, you can do nothing and Brint will solo everything but if you don't have him in your party, then it's nigh impossible to beat some encounters even with a full party.

Yeah, I know you can drop them but you can't actually win fights solo. Even if you could like half of the quests in the game give you a forced party member anyways. It just feels weird slutting around when I have a follower presumably just sitting there waiting for me to finish fucking whatever we just fought, I can't get immersed at all.

I made it through practically the whole game just using bimbo Azzyran and Etheryn because they were the companions I found the least annoying. You might have to retry some fights but it's not solely balanced around a single character like that. The balance is pretty terrible in general though, sometimes you'll just get oneshot in a fight because all 4 or 5 enemies target you at once and then next attempt you easily clear it because they actually spread their attacks. Also I've had a frequent issue with certain bosses being near-unkillable because they spam healing, but they also aren't threatening enough to out-damage my team's healing so the fight just becomes a waiting game until I get lucky enough to land 2 or 3 crits in a row to end it.

It's not like the CoC or TiTS gameplay is good exactly but they're certainly a hell of a lot better than the mess in CoC2

Funny how even Skyrim porn mods solved conundrums like these with various options for follower rape etc. Fenoxo is a worse game designer than some noname modders.
