All our technology and medicine are virtually useless and we're essentially starting from square one again. Communication would be almost impossible between civilization for at least a few years, if we even survive that long. This is all without even mentioning the insect population which is so, unimaginably vast. Wouldn't even come close to what our ancestors had to deal with so yeah, unlikely we'd get very far.

I read the book Side-by-Side Dreamers the other day, and towards the end of the book, there’s a part where the two MCs go to the dream world and have to wake up every sleeping person in the world all at once in order to starve the monster they’re fighting of the dreams that it eats, and they try shaking people awake one by one but it takes too long, and because they’re in the dream world and they can do whatever they want, they both grow into giantesses the size of mountains and literally start kicking people out of the dream world. So, for the two or three billion people or whatever that were asleep at that time, the last dream they had before they woke up was about almost being stepped on by a giant JK’s foot. After I finished that book I started reading A Magical Girl Retires and the MC joins a team of magical girls that are sent to defeat some terrorists that are attacking an airport, and the one magical girl on the team is an extremely short woman (the MC says that the top of the girl’s head only reaches to the other girl’s shoulders) who turns out to be the Magical Girl of Growth, and she grows into a giantess on the airport tarmac and she’s big enough that she picks up the airplane filled with explosives like it’s a toy and hurls it into the air like a baseball where it explodes harmlessly like a firework. It’s always wild to be reading a normal fantasy book and out of nowhere, boom, giantesses.

It's not like evey squer inch of Earth is covered in animal life.And even then life isn't a video game, not all lifeforms mindlessly attack "the protagonist". If you had a butterfly 10 times the size of Mothra the only threat it would pose is accidentally landing on you. Right now a lightning can struck normla sized humans with a similar likelyhood and we haven't gone extinct because storms exist.

Giant bugs should only exist to emphasize the sheer apocalyptic vastness of giant women. Imagine if you were so microscopic that a single ant was the size of a skyscraper. Now imagine you saw the mangled corpse of an ant kaiju splattered on the sole of a woman's sandal. This lumbering behemoth that could snuff your life out in an instant, reduced to nothing but a barely noticeable stain by the casual actions of a woman so incalculably massive, she defies comprehension. That's the only scenario where I care about giant bugs. Personally, I don't give a fuck about the logistics of humanity surviving if we all shrunk that small.
