This is pretty great, anime styled 3D is better than WEG goblins, and there's a fair bit of interaction already. I always wanted a Summer Memories but futa themed, I really hope the dev releases more content quickly.

Star Knightess Aura is finally close to finishing (content-wise 1.0 is finished).
Just gotta grind through as much polish work and bugfixing as I can until release.

bc the game loop's supposed to replicate irl and its unpredictability, which isn't inherently bad on its own. The issue comes when said rng takes precedent over set storylines for named npcs, and when new events and mechanics added to the game make it difficult to access this content again. This mainly goes for the harasser routes, but multiple avenues in the game (becoming a football starter as a woman for example) will take up an obscene amount of time in-game even with the appropriate stats.
Thankfully there's consistent updates and the harasser rng stuff will likely get fixed like all the roommate content, but still it'd be nice if the gameplay loop was overall just a tad bit less grindy. Especially when playing multiple PCs, it's annoying trying to get the same events across multiple saves and having massively varying wait times with consistently the same skills.

Is it just me or does the game feel very barebones outside the extensive procedurally generated people systems?
It does a good impression of having realistic crowds of people living in the world, and you can get to know any single one of them which has amazing potential for stuff like exhibitionism. But it feels lacking in authored content, in storylines. It doesn't help that the few questlines it has haven't piqued my interest so far.

Is it finished yet? I played it ages ago and don't even remember the sexual content. But it's a pretty imposing rational fiction epic. Some of its characters are smarter and better written than average people you meet IRL. The author should be writing books, not RPGMaker porn games.

Last Sovereign is as much a deconstruction as it is anything else, I would argue the contrary that the only reason it works is because it's a sex game that looks critically at how a normal sex game works and sees how this plays out in a very cynical world, it wouldn't be nearly as interesting if it was just within another framework critiquing how a character calling himself the Fucklord isn't actually realistic.

Last I played was 0.9.5 a few months ago.
It was almost finished with only an increasingly small part of Sybaris map still WIP and inaccessible. Eccma still posts random devlogs on his youtube channel but they're just him testing random shit. Useless for gauging development state.

I don't know about the state of translation, but nowawdays you can automatically translate the untranslated bits with a MTL tool written in godot specifically for LonaRPG. Never underestimate Lonautists. There were a few bits of text that felt MTLish, but it was better experience than playing older versions with partial TLs or full MTLs.

I don't disagree with your points, but I still think the medium doesn't work very well. Just for presentation reasons if nothing else.
RPGmaker with tiny ADV textboxes is not the most comfortable way to read it nor the best way for the writer to structure it. Should at least use NVL text display. Dunno if there's even plugins for that on the old RPGMaker version the game uses.

RPGmaker just isn't well suited for any alphabetic text in the first place but that's a whole nother can of worms.

Can't recall when, but TLS did get a different font as well as character cut outs rather than the more closed in face ups that's standard in RPGmaker, so it does give a bit more breathe ability, I would contest that what an engine like RPGmaker enables does give you an advantage in limiting the design to be very character on character oriented, a medium like a book affords the writer very free ability in their work in how they want to express themselves, or even something more analogous to /d/ games like HTML but it tends to lead to a lot of endless paragraphs most people gloss over. But when all you have is characters talking to each other it creates a different dynamic, in some ways limiting, but at the same time giving them more room to openly express, grow and adapt.

It's not like you can't have a more omniscient PoV in RPGM, but at that point it's trying to tailor it into a framework that it can't really fit. Of course if nobody likes these characters talking then people turn the game off, because that's what you mostly get playing RPGM, but TLS is good a really giving all these different characters a good input whenever it needs them, giving them good banter interplay and character growth.

It's one of the few H-games out of the 400+ that I've played that is actually hard. It's got a character rescue system, you are expected to lose characters and then (try to) rescue them with others.
Instead there's a ton of games where you have to lose on purpose to easy bosses (usually with instant loss items--even the devs acknowledge their shit is too easy) and then reload a save after watching the bad end. Meh.

Nearly all of the porn games I've seen that move to patreon to 'sustain their development' end up devolving into endless slogs of the creator 'taking breaks', releasing one minimal, content-desolate update per year at the very maximum, as the devs (particularly western ones) realize that they don't actually need to work on their project anymore and can instead subsist off whatever poor audience they've managed to gain.
I personally don't really care for that either, as an artist, so I only release whatever I'm working on only once they're done or mostly there. The practice of starting a patreon or some other cash grab as soon as you've got the barest concept for a project is one I'd see die off sooner rather than later.
