>>11483645There really are no good sites for art at this point, are there?
>>11483805Art does not make line go up for shareholder.
>>11483805>>11483819Like I was saying, we just need a private solution. Tired of everything being in the pursuit of profit; some things should just exist. How much would it cost to host the server space for that kind of thing anyhow?
>>11483805Maybe a Pixiv? I dont know anything else.
>>11483645>>11483805>>11483859>>11483877Not to mention the forbidden one, but I mean that is what AnimeExpansion was in the late 2000s and early 2010s.The real thing that makes running a website like that hard in the current year are keeping overhead low, since aparently a lot of not for profit archive/gallery websites face risk of shutdown due to high server and ISP costs. After that it is just a matter of good vetting and moderation to make sure you dont have a nonce running the website and don't allow people to upload lolicon or low quality garbage like morphs and AI slop. Then lastly just good opsec so you don't have your shit in a databreach or allow it to get combed through like the E621 leak, or let a hack get root access.
>>11483906Yeah this is something you'd need a small team to manage, and of non-schizos at that. All of what you mentioned is exactly what I was considering and thinking about, because you want to have it curated but also user friendly without overstepping on what is and isn't allowed. But then of course you run into the server costs, the security, and god knows what else. A site like that would be ripe for a bad actor to throw a hissy fit for some silly reason, hack it, and dox everyone that used it.A modern style of AnimeExpansion isn't the worst idea, but with everything you said it's just playing with fire unless you're well-funded and on top of things. A shame, because I genuinely would be into getting something like that up and running, but I don't know if I'd capable of handling all of that.
>>11483909I don't think its as much playing with fire as you think. The server/ISP costs and the human capital to set it up would be the main barrier to entry.Issues with community and badactors would be a secondary concern to just making a website that can work as intended. You would inevitably get schizos, pedos, and people who are only there for the drama and documenting it, but that is literally every website. They key to dealing with that is making them just not feel welcomed, which should just come down to good vetting and moderation for the first year of a site existing. Also lets say if hypothetically you get a user like Sunslept or RiculousCake where they get outted as a creep, groomer, or whatever after they have been using it. As long as the suspect person followed the rules of the website and not uploaded anything that would be troublesome you probably don't need to do anything since you are more or less just a publisher or a gallery. And if by chance the person did upload anything suspect, you only need to delete the offending content.
>>11483859>>11483906>>11483909>>11483957I'd say the issue isn't so much logistics as it's the fact that you're unlikely to get any real usage out of it. Insofar as a pure gallery site, Pixiv does fine, with none of the moralfaggotry restrictions of dA. Works for me as an artist, with really the only complaint being that I can't add more images to a set after posting without premium. I don't believe there's all that much demand for just a new gallery site. Remember the booru? Definitely useful as a repo but ultimately never caught on.Biggest complaint I typically see from other artists is that twitter sucks, but is the best site for traction since it has the largest audience and greatest overlap of other artists globally who use it, with few outright restrictions but annoying sensitivity settings and shadowbans. The algo, media tab, and image quality are dogshit, however people don't really want to use multiple sites to track posts. It's about convenience and everything is so centralized nowadays. Every other Twitter replacement fails for the same reason that the Discord alternatives do. Fucking nobody cares about Bluesky. Itaku was supposed to be the fancy new artist social site with tagging and robust gallery features, and that immediately got overtaken by barra furries, so now nobody wants to bother. You'll occasionally see artists crosslink to FA or eka's or even personal sites, but I imagine the majority of users just aren't going to be looking there. I'm already admittedly lazy about timely uploads, I know I won't bother with another site. The reality is that a lot of other artists are treating this not as a hobby but as an income and want something that's going to provide them with wide reach so that they can get comms/funnel people into Patreon. Biggest controversy right now is payment processors. At this point a successful gallery site will have to have paywall features with no content restrictions, but the Japanese sites could cover this already.
>>11483906>be mad at censorship>no make sure you don't let them host lolis!Retard.
>>11484202Nigga you are part of the problem. We can talk back and forth all fucking day about "Oh this character that visually looks like she is 8 is actually 6,000,000 years old" and whatever. But the two bottom lines that actually matter are:1. If you are gooning to a depiction of a child as in anatomically. You are a pedophile, it does not fucking matter and there is a very real slippery slope between people that go "It's just a drawing bro" to people who have 2 TB of CSAM saved to their PCs. People are better off just not associating with you and you are probably going to bring bad company because you are likely friends with other people who like lolicon and even you are not that fucked up, your friends may be. Maximizing degrees of separation to people like that within reason, is a part of proper gate keeping.2. As long as we have to deal with VISA and Mastercard or any other payment processor or even ISP that is going to throw a fit is going to be a problem. Most people are not going to be able to just make their own payment processor or ISP, so until the governments of whomever wants to make this kind of website needs to at least not have that bullshit as an excuse to knock you down so real arguments can be made instead of having all of the argumentation and deliberation be about a tiny minority of users gooning being lolicons. And if you don't agree, then it at least makes a good excuse to justify against you to covertly further argument 1. Granted, if scum like you remain below a critical threshold of the percentage of users of the gallery. It shouldn't really matter. As long as no sizeable majority of lolicons or other undesirables are above 3% or something like that. You shouldn't be perceived as the main userbase and would make it easier to argue against any accusations if someone did get crazy.
>>11484237>um sweetie... YOU may not be a bad person who hurts anybody but [4 trillion mental gymnastics as to how other people's actions are somehow your fault]>talks about gatekeeping when you are the sort of dipshit who should never have been allowed outside of reddit and discordShouldn't you be maintaining "healthy degrees of separation" from this website? seeing as how it has lolicons on it and all.
>>11484237>you fap to a fictional shit you are a pedo>you killing shit in fictional video game you are a killer and this is a slippery slop...Mah jpg of a fictional character was violated again! Such a monster
>>11484239>>11484245Yeah yeah, bla bla bla.If you are gooning to a picture of a character that is clearly prepubescent and that physical characteristic or I suppose the behavior "brat" as you freaks call it. You're gooning to a depiction of a little girl. >Shouldn't you be maintaining "healthy degrees of separation" from this website? seeing as how it has lolicons on it and all.I sort of have actually. I use 4chan way less now. I really only post to /d/ and /v/ anymore and if there is a thread of discussion I care to reply to.But I will be honest, I am sort of surprised that the mods haven't tried to crackdown on it or at least restrict it more site wide to just /b/ and /trash/. Outside of 4chan and whatever private discord server or group chat you most certainly use but pretend you don't when posting here, lolicon is viewed very negatively and with about as much scorn as furries and transgenders. Outside of the last few holdouts on the internet like 4chan and pixiv, you people are universally hated.>>11484245I didn't mean the slippery slope in content posted. I mean a slippery slope in what will be tolerated. These sorts of people have a way of surrounding themselves around people who will accept their depravity and those people who accept it are more than likely to accept things worse and more extreme than just le .jpg. Lets do a little thought experiment! How about this? I love fat women, does me jerking it to a .jpg to a fat woman mean I don't actually love fat women and totally would never date or marry a fat woman?I don't think so, given I have dated a few women beyond SSBBW territory at this point.
>>11484237lmao @ u
Well, I think I broke another one... more than ever before...I've broken a few girls into getting fat and being feedees before, but this is the girl I want to marry - we've been together some time now. I told her early on I was into chubby girls and she was maybe a bit weird about it but pretty neutral. She was malnourished skinny when we got together...It's been a few years and she's put on about 100 pounds now. Most of it went to her ass, but she has some decent little titties now, too. Starting to get a real belly. Talking she has to have the top button undone when she wears her jean shorts belly...Today was the day that it hit that "the transformation is complete" and I feel a bit bad... I was sleeping and she kept nudging me awake about how hungry she was. She'd never really done anything like this before but I got up and we went out to a high calorie diner type place she wanted to go to. She ordered about 5000 calories worth of food. We continued the date and swung by a convenience store and she bought and ate 3 candy bars..... swung by another place to hang out for a bit and she got even more snacks... finally got home and she kept going...Bros... I'm not sure what I've done... I love fat bitches, but it's a unique feeling when the moment happens that the gf officially becomes a true fat girl
>>11484272Okay nonce.
>>11484237Most places already disallow lolicon. Deviantart disallows it, Twitter will ban you for it if you get reported enough. Newgrounds disallows it too. The actual issue isn't lolicon, that's just the easy scapegoat. An extreme example that will make a lot of people kneejerk into agreeing it should go because of the sheer taboo nature of it.What will actually happen will be characters like Hatsune Miku, Persona characters, MHA gals, Danganronpa girls, and various others will be banned as well. It seems easy to say "Just ban lolis, if any character could reasonably be considered 18 or over leave it" but in practice it's way harder. Even if you think "Okay we'll just ignore the moral busybodies who think Persona is basically child porn" the fact of the matter is they'll not only still be there demanding the heads of people who draw Miku or whatever, but the people in charge (the payment processors) will just demand everything should go.The role play website F-list is a good example of this. They tried to get a subscription service going, but didn't go through with it because they'd have to ban pretty much any and all taboo kinks for payment processors to accept them. People originally thought this was just shit like Lolicon, rape, raceplay etc... but it was actually stuff like "Hypnosis" and "Force Feeding" lol.If you give them an inch they'd take a mile.
>>11484454>If you give them an inch they'd take a mile.I am well aware of that, anyone with an ulterior agenda is going to use it, and I am taking that into account. What I am trying to get at, is that just being able to draw a solid line between the two say "this is good" and "this is bad".If someone wants to draw characters like the Persona characters, the anatomy of a young adult or older teenager is very different from a character that is drawn to like a loli. There are good arguments that can be made why that is bullshit and you can stop the ridiculous slippery slope that would inevitably come up, from both empty puritans and insidious pedos trying to blur the line to justify themselves using semantics and not objectivity. If that isn't enough to convince people then "aging up" a character also works fine.Unfortunately the reality is that payment processors and ISPs still hold the power to shut you down because of the fact you are not going to be able to set up either on your own. The best you could do is use an ISP that accepts Monero or Bitcoin for payments. Otherwise your best bet would be to challenge it in a court of law for wrongful discrimination, and I am dead fucking serious simply not having any lolicon bullshit anywhere on your website is going to make it significantly easier to uphold in court that they wrongfully discontinued business with you. Also, a few US states and the UK have it illegal. So it is just simply better to not have it at all, because many of those jurisdictions are great places for hosting. But in any case, if it very coinvent to use any of it as an excuse to expel lolicons out of communities. If the grounds of morals, ethics, and law don't buy people. How about the argument that they are just fucking annoying insufferable faggots. I dare you to find one who isn't going to take the first chance to brag about that they goon to kids or call it justice and spam crying emojis. They are every bit as obnoxious as furries.
>>11484524>What I am trying to get at, is that just being able to draw a solid line between the two say "this is good" and "this is bad".nta but who is to say which line is correct? that is ultimately the problem at hand here. I have a different line than you, as do the payment processors. as soon as you allow the line to be moved based on feelings and not what causes harm to real people, there are going to be problems. there are plenty of groups of people that I despise, yet I would never advocate their removal from any platform.Either way, nothing anyone says will be able to change your mind, so all I can do is encourage you to consider the Martin Niemöller First They Came quote
Has anyone else noticed a pipeline where normies start getting interested in fat girls?>Guy likes art with big boobs>Moves on to girls with "thicc" proportions>Realizes that girls can't get those proportions IRL without being at least somewhat fat>Starts liking the other aspects of fat girls like belly and cellulite
