Why doesn't it just pull off the shaft? It slides back and forth a little but stops.
Twist it left and right, and shake it up and down, while pulling and pushing it in and out. And don't be shy about it.
>>2812787Exactly. Here's the best youtube example I could find: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJjgxXCkMYk
>>2812777You didn't do the hokey pokey.
When this guy does it the torque converter slipped off with the engine no problem. That isn't my experience.https://youtu.be/9utG8PChbc4?si=aXQnvlutp-zBMjEu&t=258
>>2812777depends entirely on how mangled the input shaft seals are. pull on it like a man, it will come off.
>>2814468It doesn't budge with a slide hammer.
>>2814473sit down on the ground, put your feet on the bell, grab the converter and pull. slide it and slam it hard when it stops.
>>2814476Got it!
I don't know what this was stuck on
Those broken parts of the sleeve are in the pump somewhere.
>>2814486Come on OP drop the pan already
>>2814508
>>2814486>>2814510>>2814511nice, OP. no idea what happened, but when the pump died, it took the converter with it.
>>2814486>he didn't twist
>>2814511That's some impressive carnage. Good job!
>>2814511I guess the torque got...converted
>>2814511This looks like one of those AI art things where it can't figure out how to properly render a clock.
>>2814480>>2814510>>2814486see that wear around the sleeve? you better double check that you have the correct bell adapter for your engine block. the converter isn't stabbing in perfectly straight to the pump.
>>2814511>>2814510>>2814486Impressive work. I had a TH400 let go last year, it blew the output shaft out of the side of the case and lodged it into my running board, I left fluid and chunks of parts for a half mile before coming to a stop.
>>2814901I suspect the transmission was missing several bolts holding it to the engine.
>>2814975That can have a negative impact on system performance and longevity.
>>2814479where is the clutch?
