>launches needles into you're eye
>>2815248>terrified of toy dremel shit
>>2815248After you’ve been witewheeling things for a few years go and get an MRI scan to help remove any bits from your body
>>2815254Those things don't even launch wires like the fucking Chinese dremel wheels do. And when the wires do break off, they are big enough to sting but not embed in your skin. The things in the OP fucking seed you with microscopic needles that get inside your clothes, into your socks, and poke you, follow you to your bed and poke you there.
>>2815258>lie in MRI machine>wires fly out as fast as they initially went in
>>2815248>HOLD IT!!
>>2815268i counter with boomer>what are you some kinda faggot? take those dumb things off your face and act like a man
>>2815268>don't wear safety glasses>things are fine>put on safety glasses>shit somehow bounces 15 times to launch through the one nanometer opening in the glasses
I'll sometimes use a carbide bit or an angle grinder for a quick job with just my safety glasses, but I've pulled too many wires out of myself to not wear a shield with those fuckers.
>>2815317>carbide bitThe metal slivers from the carbide burrs are the worst. I'd take a wire wheel acupuncture any day over them... They are the ones that always end up in my eyes and I have to go see the eye dr.
I'm still washing shit out of my eyes from sharpening a set of bushhog blades with no glasses two days ago
>>2815254...why is there a grinder with a flapper wheel being held with a chain vise? Are you using it as a bench grinder?
>>2815282I got more shit in or near my eyes when I was wearing goggles because I was a paranoid little shit. I started wearing safety glasses, and the rate of occurrence went way down.
>>2815254>>2815333>...why is there a grinder with a flapper wheel being held with a chain vise? Are you using it as a bench grinder?I was going to comment and say I like the idea of holding the grinder in the chain vise. Much more secure than using a bench vise to hold it! Once in awhile I will clamp my angle grinder in the bench vise with a cutoff wheel in it set above the jaws of the vise a certain height and then use the vise jaws as a fence so I can groove something all around the perimeter somewhat accurately. Like I will cut a puck of rubber out of some thick rubber sheeting and then use a cut-off wheel to groove the middle out to make a large rubber hole plug.
>>2815248Whenever I use these I wear a welding jacket I got a cheap one from some brand called black stallion
>>2815248wear eye protection moron.
>>2815334You gotta lean forward and shake off all the crap that builds up on top of the goggles before taking them off. They make a shelf with your forehead as backing.
>>2815324Damn so they just pull them out and nothing happens to your eye?
>>2815248Not mine. I wear face shields which are comfy and vent well and fit over glasses. Stranded brushes suck but they're often useful.>>2815254Based. I install flap discs on my bench grinders and motor arbors but found a great use for some of my pipe vises. Since you weld, grab a couple feet of ~2" pipe then weld a plate to one end to mount a bench vise, Clamp the result in your chain vise. I use the chain vises in my tristands for that and they're insanely handy. Since the pipe on tristand mounts has a free end I welded some scrap angle to that so I can clamp work to that where useful.>>2815268Those to not protect the faces. Also too old.>>2815272I counter with being a (real) boomer who ridicules those amateurs. PPE used wisely is efficient. Still have all my fingers and toes and can count to 21 on a good day.>>2815324So why u no wear goggles AND a face shield? I use plenty of carbide and they suck as you describe but no eye doc visits ever for that. >>2815325Nothing I could say about that matches your inconvenience.>>2815340I like that. It works like a shaper. Picrel is cheap and works well. Glasses and goggles belong UNDER face shields unless navigating by striped cane looks cool.
>>2815377For those who don't get the tubular vise mount, it's to rotate your bench vise 360 degrees, often handy when welding.
>>2815350Nah, gloves and eye protection makes you think you’re safe and do stupid shit That’s why I don’t wear that around any machines
>>2815377checked and nice idea with the pipe mount
Mine like to get stuck in my shirt and poke me later in the day long after I've stopped using them.

>>2815464Newfag
>>2815248how did these obviously retarded devices become mainstream
>>2815340Clever. I'm gonna have to remember that. Maybe I can get my foreman to order a chain vise for the fitting table
>>2815254What ya making anon?
>>2816120it was a shelf/rack from scrap to store metal bits and pieces that mounted on some unistrut screwed to the side of the conex
>>2816196Nice. Hope it turned out well. Everyone needs a metal scrap rack.
>>2815377>I wear face shields which are comfy and vent wellSo they say but they keep fogging up something fierce when I use them, just like goggles. I go whole hog and wear pic related with an angle grinder. The mask bit redirects exhalation through the exhaust port and keeps it from reaching the face plate. Bonus points for keeping out the fucking dust when cutting rock which is what I usually use angle grinders for.
