Assuming losing livable area is not a problem, is there any way to soundproof an apartment both from street and neighbor noise? Mine has brick and cement plastered walls but it's pretty much that for insulation. How good are triple glazed windows?

>>2864718Assuming you can't do any construction, you could just make your own portable walls. I would approach it like making acoustic panels. Make a bunch of 24x96 rectangular frames out of 1x4 lumber, fill them with a lasagne of insulation and sheetrock, maybe cover them in a tasteful fabric, and you make enough of them you basically have a soundproofed room that you can take with you when you move. Even if you don't go full autist with this just making some normal acoustic panels and acoustically treating the room, i.e. eliminating echoes and resonance, will improve your quality of life if you suffer from misophonia as I do. The most annoying frequencies are the ones that bounce around the most but are easiest to absorb.
Two words:- mass- decoupling
>>2864718The trick to soundproofing is layers. I sound proofed a garage, just siding and studs, and stapled some asphalt roofing tiles in between the studs. Threw up some kinda 4x8 wallboard from Home Depot. Then tacked up some old carpet I found for free. Wasn't pretty, but it did the job.
>>2864718>is there any way to soundproof an apartment both from street and neighbor noise? neighbor should be ez street not so much>Mine has brick and cement plastered walls but it's pretty much that for insulation.I assume the brick is 20-25cm? whats on the exterior of the building?>How good are triple glazed windows?too good for westoids lmaoits also a tiny cost difference over double glazing
>>2864758>proprietary amerislophow very usefulanyway my fellow euroshart picrel I think should work
lead plates. old carpets without mold and sand(although i dont know if it will get wet?)all cheap or free. lead plates im not so sure you can get cheap though...
>>2864718>putting meat slabs in walls as emergency food storagegenius.
>>2865020>Euro thermal transfer>Euro no vapour barrierIt's like you want your walls to be poorly insulated and moldy as long as you have brick on the outside.
>>2866289>Just wrap your house in a plastic bag, broThat's pretty cringe desu baka senpai
>>2864805>misophoniame too broplease shoot me
>>2864805>>2866308>misophoniaMOVE. To a green suburb away from people.
>>2866289uhhh thermal insulation goes on the exterior though, a wall over that is optionalvapor barriers are useless
Reminds me of an episode of Monk where a shitload of books or papers were hidden in the walls, and it kinda soundproofed an incident.
>>2866328It's sounds coming from inside the house that bother me the most, my dog licking his balls for example. SCHLOP SCHLOP SCHLOP is like icepicks in my eardrums. A dripping faucet. Crinkling plastic. At night when the amphetamine has worn off and everything is quiet is when it gets ya.
>>2865020Mold heaven listen to this guy >>2866289 or use a Wall calculator https://www.ubakus.de/en/r-value-calculator/?>>2866336the first guy had a picture with drywall and Galvanized profile i thing he wants to insulate the inside.
>>2866294so i added a plastic foil to mold heaven >>2867186 and as you can see condensation inside the wall goes down to almost nothing.BTW still a verry bad design the interiour surface temperature is 55F for 23F outside. this is only so low because the steel C profile is a big thermal bridge and you can still get mold where the steel is. and if the foil gets pierced by a socket or the seams are taped badly you get mold again.
>>2867186and here much better insulationg on the outside, rear ventilated siding.note the tyvek is incase wind pushes snow or rain behind the siding.
>>2867189the heavy bricks on the inside will keep the inside temperature comletly constant (blue line)
Hang this on your wall. I still have to do mine I've been lazy but my next door neighbor is far enough for me to crank my guitar amplifier at 3 am.
>>2866328>>2866308Why the fuck does everything have to have a name. Some noises are annoying. We all have that and deal with it. Stop being stupid/giant pussy. Also stop doing drugs, that's at the heart of you psychosis
>>2867500Can confirm weed induces misophonia
>>2867497What is that?
>>2864718room-within-room construction - total mechanical isolation except for the floordouble layer 5/8" drywall with green glueoverlap drywall seamsheavy double doorsall gaps sealed or weatherstrippedt. have done this. workshop is 100 ft away from a very busy four lane road, traffic is almost completely inaudible except for the loudest trucks and motorcycles (which are a faint rumble)It's almost but not quite the quietest place I've ever been.
>>2864805>misophoniaTo make it better i have tinnitus I often wish i was deaf. Then i found out you can be deaf and have tinnitus. Now summer is here and i have to sleep with a fan, the noise of the fan doesn't let me sleep so i need earplugs. Aircon is worse, the compressor vibrates through the walls and the bed into my skull.
>>2864867Nice call on the asphalt roof shingles. Asphalt was a big soundproofing trick in the automotive industry in the early years, shit smells at a certain temp. I am convinced that is the old car smell oil and leather.
>>2867580A clearsonic sound panel
>>2867186that shit is more for sound than thermals OP was just asking about interioran interesting website you got there though
>>2864718have you thought about disposing of your neighbors?
>>2866328I moved to a mountain surrounded by forest. My enemies came to me.Me shooting at them made it worse.Currently the ringing is louder than most diesel engines
>>2870194It really is. Not that guy, but I really need to sit down and figure this shit out and how to change it to english. This helps a shit-ton with what I need to do with my attic.
would a single drywall sheet on top of the brick make any improvement or not really?
>>2872388Minimal.
>>2864718I would do 2 layers of furring strips perpendicular to each other with foam insulation between and 2 layers of 5/8" fire drywall You can glue the drywall layers together with a bunch of adhesive for even more dampening
>>2864867>and stapled some asphalt roofing tiles in between the studs.Diagram please.
>>2864718Hang drapes over every wall, rentcuck
>>2866289>>2866336This guy is right. Vapour barriers are for wood. Not bricks.
