is this 80% bullshit or is this a legit nice fan?im looking for a modern, lightless ceiling fan.i like a wooden 3 blade propeller design.is pic related legit or shit?my budget is $250, 52-60"
probably a decent fan, but Wayfair is tricky. They re-brand other fans with their own names. You may be able to find the exact same fan for cheaper on Bed Bath & Beyond, Aliexpress or Amazon.

>>2870368This is the homeowner boardDeal with it
as an electrician who has installed this exact fan (and many that are very similar to it) many times, they are okay. a little more annoying to install than a standard ceiling fan you get from home depot, but at the end of the day, a fan is a fan is a fan. if you spend ~$75-$125 on a fan at home depot, youll get a fan that is 99% as good as a fan that costs $500. get something that you like the look of, and dont spend too much. i wouldnt spend almost $200 on a ceiling fan, but if you like the style, get it.
>>2870440>shitting up another board>bwaah bwaah, i'm a special snowflake. Deal with it!You're a consuming nigger. Nothing more, nothing less.
>>2870447most Home Depot fans are not brushless-DC motor (though they are becoming more common). BLDC = much quieter and less power consumed.
>>2870454youre falling victim to marketing hype. ceiling fans hardly draw any power as it is, and are quiet. the only loud ceiling fans are the ones that are a few decades old and havent been oiled ever.
Is this a legit $800 fan on some close out sale or is this a Chinese post being compared to an $800 fan?
>>2870461Energy savings aren't trivial, especially if the fan is normally run at higher speeds. Not to mention less heat added to space from the inefficient motor.
>>2870450Ok renter
>>2870347I ordered one from wayfair and it's alright. They have some good quality shit if you don't buy the cheapest thing you can find. The highest speed on this one will definitely break something if not balanced properly like mine, but the absolute lowest setting pushes the perfect amount of air if it's for a bedroom https://www.wayfair.com/lighting/pdp/wade-logan-buchhi-52-solid-wood-3-blade-propeller-ceiling-fan-with-remote-w100419977.html?piid=137530421
>>2870454Some of them have a weird hum or buzzing sound that vibrates through the blades.
>>2870720I wonder how many people have actually installed a ceiling fan on a wall.
>>2870720hows the remote?one review said it wont work without the remote and the remote is a pos i dont care for a remote, i have a fan dial switch. do i need to replace thmydnat now?
>>2870749>i have a fan dial switchthat won't work with a DC motor fan.DC motor fans can only be controlled by their remote, or a wall module specifically designed for that kind of fan
Most of these fans are exactly the same, you are paying for style and whether blades are fake wood made from cheap plastic , or some less fake looking material. They all have remotes that you mount on the wall, although if you are feeling frisky you can run control wires to a plug.
>>2870724>I wonder how many people have actually installed a ceiling fan on a wall.you cant be this fucking stupid can you. its obviously on a ceiling. if you cant tell this then theres no hope for you. never reproduce. oh wait you wont cause you are still 50 in your moms basement playing vidya games all day
>>2870846so is it just set to always have power? or is there a special dc switch it comes with? it just says remote
>>2872106surely he wasnt claiming thats what youve done, surely he was hypothesising
>>2870347>is this 80% bullshitYes it's bullshit. It's a $170-$200 fan. Sites like this drastically overstate the retail price of products then show a huge discount to put them back at their normal price. They're trying to trick people into thinking they're getting a really good deal to get more sales.
>>2870846>that won't work with a DC motor fanDoes a ceiling fan that uses a DC motor even exist? I've never seen one. Wouldn't make any sense.
>>2873082Yes, DC motor ceiling fans are becoming more and more common. They use receivers like picrel which transform the line voltage into (usually) 24V 3-phase that the motor uses.
