DeWalt chuds btfo
>>2873310Same factory.Probably changed the software randomly to make them appear different and, without knowing what the’re doing, accidentally made it a bit better.
>>2873310Anyone can make an impact that shits out 500 ugga duggas, the hard part is making one that lasts.
>>2873323There's a saying that it's hard to be poor. The poor man can only afford a 10 dollar pair of boots, and has to replace them every year. The rich man can afford a 50 dollar pair of boots and they last him 10 years. The problem right now is that both boots are coming from the same factory, so you can get slightly worse boots for 10 dollars or yellow boots for 50, and the math works out that it's cheaper to replace the worse boots than replace the yellow ones over time.
Are the hypertough batteries bretty gud? Might snag one or two cheap to try and rebuild an old milwaukee battery...
>>2873316> betterMore torque does not mean better. It means fuck all at that range. Its not like you walk on your jobsite with just a dewalt impact and come across an M16 bolt that’s tightened 10% over spec and have to run to Walmart because their hyper tough provides just that extra torque to loosen it
>>2873352It's not even necessarily that it's better. It's just as good for 1/4 the price
>>2873344More like 60 for the cheap boots or 600 for the good ones now! I stay away from the absolute cheapest boots because they dont last at all. But I also will not spend 600 on a pair of boots because I just know that they won't last much longer than my middle of the pack carolinas and that will really piss me off...
>>2873344Yeah it's like Icon tools. "Buy once cry once" means dick when it was 80% as good at 1/5 the price as Snap-On and you can run 5 minutes down the road and replace a broken tool instead of having to wait for the truck to roll around one day next week maybe
>>2873355I get my boots for free xD. There's a thrift store here that has a dock for people to put donations on and if clothes get rained on before they get taken in they throw them in a pile out back to be hauled off. I'm on a super decent pair of Red Wing King Toes right now that just needed to be dried out
>>2873355$600 is custom last tier, what are you on about?
>>2873351This guy opened up a 2.0Ah a few years back, definitely not good cells.Assuming things haven’t changed in recent years, I might try Bauer. I ripped open one of their packs some years ago and it had LG cells. Wouldn’t be surprised if they went with cheaper cells more recently though. Kobalt also has real cheap battery packs sometimes and they use good cells as well, plus you get an extra cell or two just in case you mess one up trying to rebuild the packs. Ryobi HP packs use good cells, their cheap black packs have gone to cheaper Chinese ones which are ok but not going to run as hard as the originals. With the holiday sales though, it’s hard to say whether it’s even worth fixing the old ones. Look at Home Depot’s website and you can find multi packs of DeWalt 3.0 and 4.0 20V packs for really cheap, and you’re going to have a hard time finding name brand cells plus the nickel strips and getting a DIY spot welder set up for less money than buying a 4pk of brand new 3.0Ah packs for like $120.
>>2873352It really means you'll break out the breakout bar more often, yes.
