Sup /diy/, I'm trying to wrap some packages for Christmas like they're straight out of the 1800s.
>hurr durr just use twine and brown paper
Yeah, duh, but I don't just want these to look vintage, I want then to look OLD. Aged, stained, maybe even a little burnt; like something that's been sitting in an attic for a century and just now got uncovered.
Any advice for how to do this? Or places where I could find resources on kitschy, old fashioned crafts like this?
I'm getting a copy of Dragonology for my nephew and I want it to look legit

While I'm sure you're trying to be facetious, I hadn't heard of the term antiquing. I'll look into this to see how I can make brown paper look old!

Tea, either dribbled or soaked, can go a long way towards making paper look old.

I bought cream colored paper and soaked it in coffee and put it in the oven for an aged look.

Sprinkle coffee and coal dust on the paper. Also crinkle it.
