We pay heating in my building according to measurements of this device. Can you trick it to measure like you are not heating without company knowing that you are doing it?
>>

Dunno mate. You’d have to find the tempature sensors and put an ice cube near the one that measures the incoming heat. Probably easier to get a blanket.
>>
>>2877853

you are obviously stupid. it doesnt measure temp, its basically an electric meter for the devide providing the heat.. measuring how much electricity the heater uses. no way they are gonna charge by how hot the temp is.. I mean seriously do you have any common sense?
>>
>>2877931
No you idiot. These are very common in flat buildings where I live. They’re bolted and glued to each radiatior to measure its temp. You can’t remove the device without breaking it (the glue goes into the back of the device). The bolt acts as a thermal conductor to measure how hot the radiator is and they charge you according to that.

>>2877838
You can probably locally cool them a little bit with cold water. To really bypass them you need to add an additional radiator, but you can’t close off the flow on the cold side because they usually don’t have check valves. Google ‘heat cost allocator hacking’. Try not to mess with the tubes unless you’re really sure what you’re doing. If you break one it will be very expensive
>>
>>2877931
Fucking retard maybe know what you’re talking about before you mash your fat stupid fingers on the keyboard. There’s a brand name on the device in ops picture.

>measure how hot the radiator is and they charge you according to that.

what kind of retarded 3rd world country do you live in that they charge you by the temperature and not how much electricity you use? fuck your shit. pay your money and shut the fuck up.

samefag. your comment has been ignored.
>>
>>2877838
You could make a shelf up against it where you replace those re-usable ice packs periodically to keep its temp down

3rd world multifamily units with central heat, the worst part is it just measures "units" by subtracting the temp of the radiator from the ambient temp of the room. if you only cool down the ambient temp sensor it will probably look like increase of units. OP needs to take it apart and stick pic related in the right spot
>>
>>2878183
We have the same in Italy
>>
>>2878343
Couldn't OP also place a heater in front of the box and call it a day?
>>
>>2877931
>>2878183
Charging for how hot the radiator gets is how it works with district heating.
>>
>>2877838
"Manual" for the unit. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1571174/Brunata-Futura-Heat.html?page=2#manual

>>Brunata Futura Heat is a heat cost allocator with
two-sensor measuring. In addition, Brunata
Futura Heat measures all the heat which the
radiator emits to the room (plus heat) and all
the heat which the radiator absorbs from the
room (minus heat). Deducting the minus heat
from the plus heat provides the heat received
from the central heating system. You are
charged only for this heat. Heat from the sun,
wood-burning stoves, etc. is not registered as
heating by the meter

>>During the installation, each meter is
adjusted to the radiator output by using a
scale. The scale ensures that the heating
consumption is correctly measured and
comparable with the consumption on other
radiators with the same type of heat cost
allocator. The scale is indicated by the last
three digits on the display and does not
change.

Its not obvious to me what these two sections actually mean.

You can use one of these heat guns to loosen the glue and pry it apart a little bit easier without it breaking apart.
>>
The real solution is to move out of your commie block and buy your own home.
>>
>>2878413
First part means it measures heat from radiator to room vs heat from room to radiator. Second part means they calibrate it upon installation to a ‘scale’.

For obvious reasons there are no installation instructions or schematics. Local authorised contractors will install and calibrate the meter as they have a handheld device to do it. If you remove or break the meter or the radiator (where I live) you have to hand it in. They say it stores tampering attempts like blowing hot air over it but I’m not sure if that’s reliable or what they would do if they detect it. You could try and tape a square foot piece of foil backed rockwool or over it and see if that helps

>>2878183
>>2877931
Absolutely retarded. These are not electrical radiators but hot water radiators that get fed from a central heater in the basement

>>2879397
It is a ceramic or epoxy whatever in my building. Heat doesn’t help.
>>
>>2877838
Do you also pay an electric bill?
>>
What if you put an insulated box around it so room temp measures closer to radiator temp? seems so simple I’m sure no one has tried. Manual says billing is annual.. if so, it’s gonna take a while to know what works. Which by then they’re going to realize youre a scammer because your room is always warm and total fuel consumption hasn’t decreased.
>>
>>2877838
maybe get some computer duster spray and spray it upside down on it and freeze it off lol if it fucks up the ice will just evaporate and noone will know

so your meter has a bolt that fits in the gap in the radiator tubes, like this pic? i would just undo the bolt and remove it or put an insulator in-between the two
>>
>how do I steal from the electric company
Idiot. Best case scenario is they find something is wrong and and replace the unit. Worst case scenario, you get caught and fucked.
>>
>>2877838
it's a meter. take the leads and reverse them so the device runs negatively. your landlord will be sending you a check every month.

>adjusted to the radiator output

this is the only way you can tamper with it, increase the output of the rad.
put a fan bar onto or under the radiator this will heat up the room quicker and increase the output of the rad.
maybe it will also cause the rad to drop a few degrees in surface temperature and cause less counting.

btw these things are not accurate at all this is why here in Germany they are only allowed to count for minimum 50% and maximum 70% of the heating bill, the rest of the bill is the fuel consumed by the boiler divided by the square meter of each persons flat.

if you tamper with it the general heating cost will go up. the same if you do not heat at all and your left/right/below neighbors have to heat more.

the most important this is you shouldn't putt furniture against them as this will cause the local temperature to increase while lowering the output of the radiator
>>
>>2880265
i was thinking about this and i think you are right, op needs to remove heat from the radiator. i was thinking a custom tub around the radiator that warms your own coolant loop with as many radiators as his system can heat.

>fuel consumed by the boiler divided by the square meter of each persons flat.
the boiler is neighborhood-size and the water is 45c
you should have it running 24/7 and be charged by m2 which is how it works if you don't have this dogshit
>http://dusanpopovic.com/2015/03/grejanje-po-utrosku-delitelji-toplote-problemi-sa-reklamacijama/
holy fuck is this a joke they actually implemented this here
I ripped the thermal heads off my radiators entirely, and they are barely keeping the place at an adequate temperature that I still have to start up the AC at times

well alright it never left small shithole towns
shall they try to install this on my house I will simply disconnect from the district heating as a whole and use a fucking heatpump
