Can anyone explain Husqvarna Prime to me? What is high frequency electric here? The motor is in the power unit, how is the power transferred to the tool? Is that electric too or is this just a fancy hydraulic power unit or just like a giant Dremel flex shaft? Can’t even find any reviews, I’m sure because anyone actually buying this stuff is having these conversations with a rep at a demo.

no, I don't think they are. but even if there is something mysterious about it, you just need a loose coupled oscilloscope on the output side to find out.

Yes, where? You can read about the input requirements for the power packs, but not about how they transfer force to the tools. There’s one reference to “matches hydraulic” which suggests it’s something else, but that’s it.

Even reading the manuals for the power packs, it doesn’t describe the principle of operation.

Why would they include one output rating with three input ratings?

Yeah they put a $7000 driver unit between the wall and the 220/480V 60Hz dual input tool and decided to call it high frequency for the lulz. Surely the contractor that might buy this will care more about seeing the frequency the tool is driven at in the closed system than the frequency the whole system takes from the wall outlet, because they mention nothing about that.

One thing they are explicit about is *the motor is in the power pack, not in the tool*. How does the power get from the motor to the blade/chain? That’s the basic question here.

nowhere is this stated. the electric 3 phase water cooled motors are in the tool.

ok skippy. I'm going to spoon feed you what I found on their website with about 10 minutes of looking...

the large box (power supply) takes single or 3 phase power and then feeds it to the tools. if you plug it into single phase power you get less power out. it is a phase converter.

there is a connection for water into the power supply. this is also fed to the tool to cool it.

how did I find this information?
the website specs
the user manuals
the parts manuals
it shows that each device has a motor in it with 6 electrical connections.

they mention hydraulics because they are saying the the units put out the same amount of power (or close to) as hydraulics. nothing on the site says they are hydraulic.

you can't afford these tools, and if you get them you are to stupid to use them.
