My uncle is very into homesteading, DIY, etc. Very traditional old fashioned guy, grows a lot of his own produce and raises chickens, loves building and fixing.I don't know enough about tools or farming or anything like that to understand what a good gift would be for him.Do you have any suggestions? Preferably something that isn't so common he'd already have it. I'd like to keep it under $50 if possible.I love him but I hate asking people what they want for Christmas.
>>2879388If you live in North America, head to Lee Valley's website and browse their gift ideas sections or even their Christmas catalog. I guarantee you'll find something interesting and unique for your uncle there that he wouldn't already have.
>>2879391This was actually super helpful, I think I found a great gift for him. Thank you so much!
Lehmann is a good amish geared store. they cater to amish, they are not owned by amish. that said, it is not amish exclusive. they have tons of "regular" homesteading items.look into homesteading montly magazine or backwoods magazine. homestead folks love good, physical, refrence material. they are practical opinion & skill articles in a homesteader format.which livestock does he keep? what type of gardening does he do? items central to his specific varieties & breeds or general feed or chemistry.does he heat with wood? a wood carrying tarp bag to bring wood in is a huge plus. large steel ash can.cast iron cookwarefor "boring" but PERFECT go with a $50 home improvement store gift card.
Beef Jerky. Good stuff not the normal Jack's link stuff found at every gas station. Every Trad Uncle loves Beef Jerky!
you should make him a work apron with your own hands so he knows his fag nephew is good for something
>>2879497i thought you were gonna say fleshlight but an apron would work too
Very similar trad uncle here. I dont want/need any kind of gimmick tool from you.I want you to come out to the homestead/farm/property and give me a hand for a day. I always need help and enjoy teaching my nephew/niece something about the real world. And we get to hang out and get to know each other better. I wish my family would understand that I just want to be a part of it and that they would stop buying consoomer bullshit.
>>2879630Me again... Or beef jerky. Beef Jerky is always good.
>>2879640Fine...Come out to the homestead/farm/property and help me make our own beef jerky. I dont care what we do, just stop buying bullshit and get to know your family. Your trad uncle misses you.
>>2879630I wish I had grandparents or uncles I could go stay with for a while and help out and learn from. I have two such uncles but they are on the other side of the world. I miss my grandparents. Just lost another uncle last month too.
>>2879388check out red pig garden tools
>>2879630>oh noes my family got me a christmas present again, stoopid consooomersthey might not like being around much because you're very negative about their lifestyles
>>2879694You're welcome down on my compound. Lets teach you how to use a tractor tomorrow. >>2879723Yea. I'm an asshole, doubt. Watching them blow their money on dumb shit for the last 20 years and complaining they're broke will do that. Not to mention all the failed marriages and overall sadness. My siblings are uninspired humans. I can hope that their kids will turn out better.
