I have to move a hot water baseboard section in my house to accommodate something, I'm looking at the boiler to flush the system after I reconnect the piping and I don't see any zone valves. Is this a typical setup? Or a half-assed one? I was looking to see if there were zone valves so I could manually open them, but it doesn't look like that's a possibility. Should I trigger the thermostat to call for heat for that zone and shut the gas supply off while bleeding the system? The section in the foreground is the section I'm going to be removing and reinstalling pipe in.
To me it seems like most heating systems installed are half-assed. Do the pumps not have any manual override switches?Water should flow through the motors either way, they do not normally act as a shutoff valve when unpowered. You should be able to fill the whole thing and bleed unpowered with just input water pressure.
>>2879551No there's no manual shut off or turn on things for the circular pumps. I'll just shut the system down and get it done.
These are easily the worst solder joints I've done but I'm all refilled. No leaks though, and this is temporary until I finish redoing the kitchen.
