Anyone have any brand preferences for/against with diamond metal cutting wheels? Diablo, Lenox, EZARC, some tool company brand?

Also general consumables thread

I was mentioning the Spyder ones in another thread. I snagged them because Lowe’s always has these multi packs from displays on clearance for dirt cheap, and the Spyder stuff has been as good as Diablo and DeWalt IME. These also claim to be multi-material, but I have only used it on metal and a tiny test run on some brick and it’s been good.

I just buy whatever says its made in Switzerland or wherever. Brand doesn't really matter. I notice a lot of Diablo and Bosch consumables are made there.

>6.5” Diablo 2pk from Italy
>7.25” Diablo 2pk from USA
>Spyder’s German carbide and steel assembled in China
>OMT blades from Switzerland
Also it always amazes me how somehow it’s cheaper to manufacture the carbide teeth and steel blades im Germany, ship it to China where they braze the teeth onto the blade, and then ship it back to the West than doing it all in Germany

I've personally had excellent results with Diablo everything.

This could be total coincidence, but I think I bought my lathe from these guys. It's been a while, but I know it's the same name and I think it's the same logo on the building I pulled up behind...

I like Bosch, Milwaukee (overpriced though) and DeWalt. Bosch has the greatest selection. when I want to cut some specific material, e.g. fiber cement boards, Bosch will have a blade for that for every type of saw in several sizes and it will be at least decent. I was also positively surprised with Ezarc quality. I had no experience with the brand and recently bought a 45cm concrete cutting sawzall blade and curved multitool blades on aliexpress, so I thought it would be the cheapest chinesium, but they're actually pretty decent and great for the price. they even included adapter rings for dremel and one that fits a starlock-like lock I have, which also positively surprised me, because I couldn't find one for my multitool anywhere
