I live in a decent neighborhood but there are a few guys who hang out at night and sit on a fire hydrant that is under my bedroom window. They smoke cannabis, drink malt, and yell at each other. I need a way to make this hydrant undesirable.

So you can throw stink bombs before they come by and they should naturally gravitate to a different area, or if it’s the hydrant that’s the problem then just cake insect adhesive all over it and maybe spill some ink into little craters in the goop so when they sit on it not only will they have an unpleasant experience which will make them choose another spot, but it’ll also stain and possibly destroy whatever clothes make contact with it. You can also put some on the floor around it. This is a common way to get homeless people to not set up camp around businesses here in L.A. Another one that works wonders is a fake security camera aimed at them and alas if you really want them to leave just get a speaker that plays loud classical music all night long, although that last one could get a brick thrown in through your window. A last resort is to get a powerful porch light that flickers in random intervals and then there’s these sound emitters that are for driving away cats and raccoons. Those last three might bother you as well, but it’s about sending a message. I can’t recommend the sticky insect stuff and the stink bombs enough though. You could take a picture of them, print them and scatter them on the floor with the words “you’re being watched” written on the back….but fuck man, that being San Francisco, I think only the sticky insect adhesive is what you need.
