The sheer amount of people who dismiss earplugs just because they tried it a few times without actually knowing how to put them in is staggering. They are just doing it wrong (just like the pic).I just love the feeling when they slowly expand inside your ear and just like that - all the sound is completely quiet!
I wear them at rock/loud music concerts. Ironically can actually hear the music better because it seems to filter out the crowd and white noise.
I used them for studying
I have these rubber ones you can reuse they're like a double flat disk
>>2886035>BEWARE ULTRA BLOGPOST FAGi was almost driven to madness in an attempt to find the proper hearing protection after buying a new motorcycle and commuting more. no helmet/windshield combo worked. i even developed tinnitus which i didn't have before despite /diy/ and +20 years of playing drums. wind noise is no fucking joke i swearthe orange 3M foam plugs work kinda ok'ish, but they are a massive PITA to properly insert and start to hurt after ~1h. also they're not reusable (technically yes, but they drastically lose dampening power even after one use). so i bit the bullet and went the premium route with custom molded hearing protection. the jew shilled me his "flagship" product for noise dampening with a special filter that cost 220 bucks total. now keep in mind that i have extremely good hearing across the frequency band and can hear a fart from two blocks away. but evidently this piece of shit wasnt potent enough for the windnoise under the helmet. what followed was a series of arguments with the rabbi for ripping me off despite me stating clear what i need. apparently there is some legality issue with too much hearing dampening when driving/riding. however, we came eventually to an agreement and he proposed me a custom mold plug thats designed for swimming IIRC. solid piece of silicone (or whatever they use), no filter, covers even the outside of the ear a bit.the plugs (similar to picrel) are a god-given gift im telling you. i completely ride in peace with them, no exhaustion after long days due to extreme noise. i can ride hours on the freeway without problems whatsoever. they're the closest you'll get to a peltor imo. meanwhile i use the others for live-concerts, band practice or studying. >>2886058i remember the sound engineer at a lamb of god concert were so catastrophically bad that you had to wear earplugs anyway. they smooth out the harsh noise and improve the experience tenfold.enough blogfaggin, protect your hearing
>>2886035Earplug earbuds + 3m green earmuffs was pure bliss at work. Pissed off my coworkers when I couldn’t hear literally anything they were saying. Made a CNC spindle and cutting absolutely silent
>>2886035these things saved my life when I started at a new place and my cubicle neighbors turned out to be arabs who eat like animals and are constantly snackingonly drawback is I can't hear when someone is approaching and they see me just scroolling on my phone.>t. misophonia sufferer
>>2886035I know I'm bad at wearing the foam ones, so I buy the silicone ones and just jam them in.
>>2886307>my cubicle neighbors turned out to be arabs who eat like animals and are constantly snackingThat wasn't very mashallah of you, my brother. But to be real, something about being Middle Eastern just brings out something vile in the evolutionary tree.
>>2886410What about fatigue silicone is hard
I rock these fuckers. They are great for work since they block the mid+low frequencies the most while letting in some of the higher ones meaning you can still hear if somebody talks to you.
>>2886116>i was almost driven to madness in an attempt to find the proper hearing protection after buying a new motorcycle and commuting more. no helmet/windshield combo worked. i even developed tinnitusSo they are the retards who drive loud bikes down my street in the morning...
>>2886920i have no experience with loud pipes. my problem was unbearable wind noise (and buffeting) at even slower speeds. i don't even get why these fags pay a fortune for aftermarket exhausts. the wind gets so loud that you don't hear a damn thing after 80 km/h
Earplugs rapidly increase bacterial growth and goofs with your pressure differential. You should not use them just because there may me occasional loud noise or constant not very loud noise. They’re mostly for fags. I kinda doubt there is any long term research where participants plugged one ear for thirty years in a loud work environment.
I wear earplugs at least 12 hours a day. Fucking hate noise. Yes I'm acoustic.
I unironically need to use these in order to sleep. Mostly with in-ear mi pistons earphones for extra dampening and media playing.People around here are just insufferable careless apathetic antisocial-fueling shitheads. But I may also have autism in a certain degree.

>>2886035putting things long in your holes is gay
>>2886035I hate them. I hate you. Fuck you. And fuck your plugs. Over-ear gang for life.
>>2886116I don't like sounds and I was thinking to get molded ear plugs because the regular ones hurt too much. Can I diy it, or do I really have to give the jew my hard earned money?
>>2887120>eeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
>>2887756if you don't need the plugs for like under a motorcycle helmet then get a peltor. even custom molded plugs don't isolate noise as much as they do. but if you want the molded plugs then stay away of the filter ones and take the full silicone pill (like for swimming)>Can I diy itdefinitely not alone, i thought about it too.you need someone to put a cotton piece in your ear (with a cord, sort of like a tampon) to make sure you don't fill it too deep. they then filled the ear with a fast curing silicone type (cured in like 2 minutes) and you talk during this process. they then send it out and the initial mold is used to make a negative mold, which in turn is used to make the actual plug.apparently the fast curing type silicone is not suitable to use as a plug, as it gets oily over time and loses its form. so either you find a friend/wife to do a similar process like they do or you search for a silicone that is "hard-ish" in its cured form, but also skin safe when its not cured, and wait an eternity until its fully cured in your ear. just dont forget the cotton pad and keep us posted kek
I unironically wear musician eagplugs when going to bars, helps me hear people better.
>>2887110>i don't even get why these fags pay a fortune for aftermarket exhaustsThey think being loud and obnoxious = cool when in reality they're just being childish
>>2886410>you roll one between your hands, then strech it a bit with your fingers, pull your ear with opposite hand behind your headi usually put them just a bit deeper than tragus, they expand so should be at its level roughly
>>2887120>afraid of the minuscule possibility of bacteria in the ear when we live in the day and age of antibiotics>not afraid of incurable permanent tinnitus>calls others a fag when complaining about others wearing PPE
>>2887237I wish I was a back sleeper so I could wear these on top of earphones, as an autist myself living in a shitty apartment that would be a bliss.
>>2887120ok, boomer.
>>2886116>/diy/ and 20+ years of drums>blames wind noise for tinnituswhat the fuck man, do you even know how hearing loss works
>>2887282>>2887827>>2888082>>2887979Get vaxxed. I have been working on jet engines and demolition derby cars and banging on shit since the Regan administration, watching my friends go deaf while I violate safety rules and never poked myself in the eye with glasses either. My hearing is awesome.
How well do these work and how comfortable are they? Can they be worn on top of earbuds? I live in the hood and have a very loud basketball court not even 50 feet from my house, it's always packed and nigs often have boomboxes to add insult to the noise.
>>2887827Wait, isn't that just the normal background noise?
>>2887120I am only posting this because I genuinely think it might help someone real that is forgotten in this honeypot of a website.I have been sleeping using earplugs for the past 21 years and although sometimes if its too humid or too hot, a mild middle ear annoyance might appera, but its never really bad. Get your ears cleaned once a year by an ENT and you will be fine. For sleep the best ones I had found were some german ones made for factory workers. Unfortunately I never found out the brand (As they were given to me in a factory visit once), so now I try new ones whenever I can find them. The silicone ones have never been strictly better for my use-case in terms of noise blocking, and in fact fall out a lot more than foam ones during sleep. They also seem to irritate my ears more. There is a very easy way to clean the foam earplugs. I had used a pair of "one use" foam ones for a bit longer than a year until I lost them. No loss of function, no infection, no other problems. All with just regular cleaning.
>>2888187>immediately mentions vaxthere were studies done, proving that being exposed to loud noises for far too long reduces IQ, and now, I have first hand experience of it being true
>>2886035i dismiss them because they are gay
