Just be aware of your surroundings while cutting. If anything catches on fire put it out before it becomes a problem. It will probably kill the grass if you do a lot of cutting in one spot.

It's just green grass. Spray some water before and after you cut or cut on cement or get a fire blanket.

run what you got until you need more. 11a of 240 will run most inverter welders at a level sufficient for average home welding

Sparks? Not.
It's the molten steel that drips down that you need to be aware of, as it will burn anything it lands on.

Its usually enough, unless youve got a really big welder. 3-phase installation should be relatively easy though, in general all 3 phases are connected to your electrical cabinet, unless you've got a really old house or live in a ghetto.

does 1950's count as ''really old''?

I was doing some welding over dry grass. It WILL catch fire at some point and that's why I prepared a piece of plywood to beat out any fires. Also don't wear any kind of respirator except the cheap paper masks that don't block chemicals. If you wear a chemical blocking respirator (painting respirator) you won't smell the smoke until it's too late.
I didn't have a running water supply up there, but if you do, just spray the area down first and then nothing will catch fire.

My previous home was from the 50s; switchboard was something like picrel, marble backplate included. The water heater also was connected to a never seen before french socket, with grounding pin on the socket, instead of the plug.
