I got an old trainset power supply . I stuck the DC wires in a jar with salt water and it confirmed that it worked and was producing bubbles on the wire. Now I want to collect the gas. I'm thinking of using a small plastic water bottle and putting a balloon over the mouth of water bottle to collect the gas. How well would this work? Are there possible better setups I could do? Also I heard that salt is not the best electrolyte because it makes clorine gas would baking soda be better?
Potassium nitrate would be a good electrolyte

>>2886603yeah I was wondering if there would be enough pressure I was already thinking of something similar to the immersion process as my next attempt to trap gas. Plus the rig I just made for the blaoon capture method doesn't seems to be passing current something isn't connecting but using bare copper wires does seem to get a reaction bubbling. I'm bored so its kind of a challenge I set up. I know I can make brown gas now the challenge is capturing it and containing it.
