>>2889642id guess a chinmey sweep suggested the style of cap to pad the bill. it is a bit overkill, its made to prevent downdraft in the chimney. thats not needed when its a masonary flue. at most I would put on this. if the flue is sleeved, the get the round version but keep the cap plate.
So does your natural gas furnace just vent out the chimney, or is there a 2nd pipe it comes out of? I'm not understanding exactly how the ice is forming like that unless there is another pipe...
