I'm looking for something make out of a pen blank (I have a bunch). Asking for some creative input! Ideally a puzzle or something like that, because I'm not good at drawing or painting, and those things wear away pretty easily from repeated handling.

>>2891163NM, misread the question
>>2891160Chess boards could be cool. edge or end grain cutting boards could be cool too. You could also make a mockup or dollhouse and learn some small scale timber framing modeling.
>>2891271Not a bad idea. I considered using them for test build, but I didn't give it as much thought as I should have.Chessboard does sound cool, but it'd be tough to make it function.
>>2891277>Chessboard does sound cool, >but it'd be tough to make it function.whatmake some basic chess pieceslearn to play chess ???????then it functions.
>>2891303Yeah but then how do you make the pieces move the way they're supposed to?I suppose I could move it by hand... do people still make manual chessboards?
>>2891160Those look like nice hardwood. You could make good dice with them. Or do a locking puzzle like pic rel
>>2891303I'm thinking more about things that are three-dimensional, like the blocks in OP that wrap around the block.A chessboard isn't a bad idea if i combined the pen blanks side-by-side, but each one is a different wood (it was a sample pack) and it would look a tad strange.
>>2891413Maybe you could drill some thru-holes and cover the groves with glass to make a 3D ball maze puzzle
>>2891160Pens? You could make them into pens.
