Hypothetically, how necessary is it for the baby bump to actually contain a baby? One of the things that's always been a downer for me is how, in reality, it's not there for very long. You have about a month of her at her biggest. Suspended pregnancy is one thing, but I've also found myself drawn to the idea of a woman who possesses all the other aspects of a late-stage pregnancy (though perhaps with the least pleasant ones reduced in severity), but she's not "about to pop", her belly just DOES that. Now it's not a transient state, but a fundamental part of who she is. Bonus points if she also has a maternal/mature disposition. My original conception of this was a twist on a fertility goddess, but I'm sure it could be adapted in other ways.
