Anyone tried these Saucony Omni 9 before? How do they compare in comfort and durability to similar New Balance and Asics?
>>
>>18118604
i wont buy anymore sneakers, they are poorly made, the weight of your own body is distributed badly, they don't last long and they cost too much for all the defects they give you not to mention the posture you have, everyone who thinks differently is a certified faggot

Should I use the darker laces from my old pair? They happened to be of the same shade of grey as the sole.

If you're still deciding over something as minor as the color of a tiny logo, you don't actually want the shoes. Buy something else if you buy anything at all.
>>
I have a pair of Nike Dunk high from early 2010s I barely wore. I don't see them on stock X. Should I just copy the prices on eBay and sell them? I'm looking to sell in person, not online. I just need to make the midsole white again.
>>
>>18120771
>If you're still deciding over something as minor as the color of a tiny logo
left pair is white and right pair is like eggshell. I know its minor. Id probably be happy with either but I have to wait 2 weeks to order cause im moving anyways so thought id get some more opinions.
>>

From the picture at least, it's so imperceptible that it really doesn't matter

skill issue
>>
>>18120987
skill issue would be to ask strangers which color shoes go best with unexhibited clothing
>>
>>18118604
As >>18118676 already alluded to, it doesn't really matter, just pick whatever pair of foot-sloppers you like, enjoy being unfashionable and watching them fall to pieces.
This topic is more suited for /sp/ than /fa/, since sneakers should only be worn during athletic activities. Certain high-quality leather tennis shoes work for casual fits but the garbage you posted is just awful, which is fine and good for you if you like them.
>>
>>18120977
Eggshell is much nicer but you can't unironically wear them anywhere where that's a factor, who cares about subtle differences like that when you're playing sports or exercising?
I hope you're not planning on wearing these outside of such activities, are you?

but also to answer your question, yeah id use them for pretty much what I use all my other shoes that arent dress shoes for; gym, hanging out with friends, going to a bar, going out for dinner, doing whatever. Obviously wouldnt wear them to a wedding or formal event but shiiiiet this isnt the fucking 1800s old man a dude be wearing comfortanle footwear. Im not gonna show up to hang out with my friends looking like reviewbrah..

I honestly dont know, this board is a ghost town and 99% of the people in WAYWT threads look like autistic virgins larping like some alt hipster.
>>
>>18121009
There's a very wide range of options between ugly cattle-core sneakers and dressing like reviewbrah, if you accept this possibility and are willing to do some research you'll be ok.
A pair of reasonably priced leather /fa/ sneakers for evening engagements is probably a good place to start, it won't raise eyebrows but adds a bit of polish and will help you look less like a complete dumbass.

Pay around just under 1/3 extra for a secured pair from an international store

Or try my luck with upcoming raffles where they are hard to get tin my cou try. I could end up spending more than intended if I win a bunch of them. Or completely miss out all together. Then if I miss out I will be forced to probably spend double on retail

I've always wanted these and desu will probably be my last pair and I'm out the sneaker game

I don't have a problem with the anti-shoe crowd, as bulllshit goes it's totally benign, however I'm not going to trust them to make a pair of shoes that can be comfortably walked in, either on city streets or public trails. I love wearing flip flops in the summer but they aren't healthy. If I can find a pair of sandals that properly pad and support my feet (while looking effay) I'll wear them, but a sandal designed by folks who think we'd all be better off walking around barefoot is going to be the exact opposite of that.

what do you mean qualify? You just enter the drawing and sometimes you get them. If your bank is really shitty you can sometimes have processing errors with a particular credit card, which means you won't get them. So some people prefer using paypal or google pay instead for this exact reason.

Looking for something with a decently wide sole but not clunky like skate shoes or with too many features like basketball/running shoes. I need a better sneaker for casual wear

is there such a thing that works decently for like walking around the city with some support (i don't take public transportation, i walk) but without it being new balances or some other purpose built shoe?

i have small and slightly wide feet like a duck, if you have long skinny elf feet your needs may different, tall outdoorsy guys seem to wear nothing but new balances (and merrills of course)

Im trying the following
>air my feet as much as possible

>>
>>18138916
You need to buy antifungal nail coating, sand the surface of the toenails down and paint them with the antifungal nail coating and keep treating them for like 8 months or more, oh and use antifungal cream over the area around the nail daily. Either ther that or go to a doc and get systemic antifungal pills and take those for months.

sneakers, like all things, are temporary, my son. when i was a young neckbeard, i too searched for "the perfect normal shoe." yet ere i came of age, i started to realize that options are fun.

plus, alternating at least a few different types means youre protected from the gait/stress points any particular pair may have. lets say one directs more stress to your toes and the other to your heel - this could even be unconscious. if you only have one pair then that part will take all the brunt. if you have multiple, they will direct your weight differently, distributing the stress. this is the same logic as why you shouldnt eat the same food every day even if you "should be able to" according to the nutrition facts. you also shouldnt sleep on the same side every night.

then once they got popular they started releasing cheapo nonperformance lines with the same look, just for you suckers!

canvas sneakers aren't made of plastic and they last as long as you expect them to. and they look good while they fall apart.
you buy some plastic coated suede bullshit from nike for $900 on fagx and let's just say there's a reason those sneakers spend their lives vacuum sealed on a shelf with their owner afraid to wear them and its not the perceived value its because an ant can fart in the general direction of that vinyl coated suede bullshit that's so commonplace on sneakers and its going to crease, crack, chip and look like dog ass.
i'll never get over the fact that there's people afraid to crease their sneakers. fucking topjej.
the only 'sneakers' i bought in my life that aged even remotely well were like $$$$ fashion designer runway stuff. ricks, yohji, hender scheme, stuff made with the materials quality and construction closer to an actual shoe than a sneaker or somewhere in between.
those fuckers are expensive and i don't need to be flashy anymore with my lifestyle. don't notice me senpai!

>>
>>18140480
i really hope youre joking because thats the opposite of what a buyers market is

a buyers market is when there is a surplus of the good in question, so sellers have to discount and buyers get to take their pick of the offerings

when there is a limited supply, sellers can charge high prices, and buyers have to pay more because there's nowhere else tp get the good in question. that is a sellers market.

the latter scenario is the case here, although the cause is artificial supply constraint rather than anything natural - nike (and other makers) limit supply in order to create a sellers' market situation.
>>
>>18140496
It's a buyers market in terms of the variety of models out there, you're literally complaining there's too many models of a specific style, guess why there are so many? Because buyers like them.

So you have lots of opportunity to buy whatever else is out there in the market, seeing as there is so little demand for it. Go ahead and buy your virgin moondrops, doeks, or whatever lame style you fags use instead of complaining about companies not making enough shoes for your cringe taste

okay so you have literally no idea what the term "buyers market" means. youre one of those people who just hears things and repeats them like a parrot. now that we have that sorted, on to the subject.

it's a plain fact that the silvery performance asics/nb lines became popular recently. i asserted that this is because those lines, being for actual running, retained make quality that had deteriorated to basically nothing in other lines.

then i said that, now that those performance models have become popular, the companies in question would start releasing cheapified versions that looked visually similar, in order to profit from people who are now following this trend.

i, not being a follower, would not be buying the cheapo kind, and the companies will still continue to make the more expensive, better made performance kind for people who actually use them. i will continue to pick up the occasional nice colorway of a performance model when it is on sale or when i find a good deal on ebay.

i am not concerned that they will stop making what i like, because what i like has an actual functional purpose, and as a result has relatively stable demand in the long term. i am sighing that the people who follow trends will continue to get brutally goosed and never learn anything from it, which I will admit is not really an interesting or new thing to post about.

literally none of what you said has any relation to what I said, so i assumed you were just talking about the guy whinging that he couldnt get his le special nikes.

novesta uses a different vulcanization technique than most brands which directly fuse the shoe to the vulc sole. the result is they don't separate from the upper ever like most vulc shoes do. you know how they usually come apart where your toe bends? doesn't happen on novestas. the downside is that messy look to the rubber where it meets. and they use a pretty soft rubber so its not like they last very long anyways.

>>18139714
you'll never find a durable vulcanized sole shoe. the rubber has to be pretty soft for the vulcanization process to work.
MiJ converse chuck taylors and converse addicts (run narrow) are the most durable vulc shoes in my experience. there's a few brands i haven't tried though. if you want a durable shoe you need a cupsole. something like this: https://www.endclothing.com/us/our-legacy-low-gravel-duster-1188gdb.html

speaking of novesta (same company) i am in love with these french military trainers but i just bought retro runners :(
>>
the mij chucks are all over ebay for about 150 if you don't want to deal with proxy buying or get ripped off btw. pretty fair.
chuck 70s purchased on sale (they always are somewhere) are undoubtedly the cheapest vulc sneaker to walk in per mile. you may need to replace them every few seasons but they are so cheap.

the messy seam is ugly and looks shitty like target bobo vans
>>

vans split at the toe bend novestas don't. i'm not a huge fan of novestas or anything i'm just telling you why they are that way.

people are so funny. they pay sucker prices for things that are just straight up uglified compare to the normal thing.

its a clever if nefarious scheme. unconfident people think that the more expensive one must be better, plus they see a bunch of paid social media promotion making them think the more expensive one is better. then, once they take the bait, youve got em hook line and sinker - they cant admit to themselves they got goosed. their crippling confidence issues wont allow it.

thus the "hype dad" and the shrimpy chinese guys in le omega hype gear. retarded-on-purpose sneakers are the new ferrari, which is sad, because more expensive cars at least go faster.

shox were first made in 2000, i wonder if nike had a patent on bouncy bompers that just expired...
>>

>>18141700
i feel like i should be more clear on what my gripe with these is

its that the weird loop strap on the tongue looks goofy as hell and the weird misshapen bompers look like dinosaur molars. and why are they so shiny? its just completely texturally unpleasant.
>>

yeah that ain't helping your case, brother. those nike shoes also look like dogshit, they're too similar to those shitty shoes that soccer players use

best cheap gats: universal surplus, reproduction of found
dunno: adidas, novesta
look good, feel bad to wear gats: deadstock surplus ones
best mid priced gats: svensson
best gats: maison margiela
>>
>why would i buy a reproduction of a shoe i can get a deadstock pair of originals for 80 dollars on ebay
common gat question. nobody ever wanted those bummy ass surplus shoes. they sucked then and suck now. what made them cool was when maison margiela reimagined them and made them in actually good materials so they are wearable shoes. that's the version everyone wants not the original. the original is one of the worst versions of the gat. the replicas that improve it but maintain the silhouette is what you want.

>>
>>18141815
its not my case, im the other one dogging on them. im saying its worse cause theyre not even originally bad, theyre an uglified version of something from 20 years ago

literally one out of every two american italians that i knew wore these, i thought it was really random until i realized theyre basically sneakerheels with the bompers. a lot of sneakers now have that amount of height on a squishy sole but these were really tall for 00s shoes i think. that made it all make sense, because all the dion dimuccis were wearing lifts in their loafers too.
>>
>>18141848
I have a beat up pair of adidas BW Sport from when they dropped them, they have served me well but are too gnarly now. I want a pair that I will just wear once in a while and keep clean which is why I was asking about alternatives
>>
>>18141840
>best cheap gats: universal surplus, reproduction of found
>dunno: adidas, novesta
Just to add to this, I'm pretty sure the Reproduction of Found ones are made in the same factory as the Novesta ones, so as far as construction they're probably very close. It looks the Reproduction of Found ones use nicer leather though.
>>
>>18141927
yeah reproduction of found is designed by a japanese brand focused on military reproduction shoes who partner with novesta to manufacture them. different designer but made in the same place.
>>
it might actually be a different factory than they make the mainline novesta shoes in though? that's the part i'm not sure about. but either way novesta owns and operates it.
main reason i left novesta as dunno is i'm not sure how faithful it is to the actual gat silhouette i just haven't seen it in person and my brain can't really make that equation from photos. quality should be good, every mention i can find of them online is a happy owner -- of course relative to price!
not that there's anything wrong with inaccurate gats, a lot of people love those beckett simonon ones.

i'm old. shoe falls apart when you walk a lot. buy new shoe. don't always buy same brand of shoe.
>>
>>18142159
i literally almost guarantee that you do not walk as much as i do. for one thing, if you have a normal job, its probably impossible. my asics last for years and years and when eventually they need to be retired i am well ready for a different pair.

heck i wore saucony shadows to a standing all day job *with pivoting* and it still took 6 months to wear a hole in one sole.

i suppose a possibility is that youre a plump fellow and that puts exponentially more wear on your shoes. i could see it working that way, like if youre pressing out from within as well as down because you have so much foot meat.

god damn though. i guess at least ive learned about the current flag for swallowers. like i want to know that. youre like white collar chicks with the sambas, head empty.

can you not read? i have worn out shoes, it just takes years of walking, it took me six months to wear out a pair of not-exactly-durability-focused saucony shadows working on my feet all day. thats not even really right now that i think about it because id worn them for walking for a few years prior.

nice dodge into "fitter." i didn't say "fitter" because im sure you define "fitter" as some retarded gymfag shit. i can literally walk 20 miles in a day and do it again the next and my feet don't even hurt. (or maybe thats just how good asics are!) next youll ask me how much i bench. i dont know because i dont go into gyms to lift hunks of metal for no reason.

i literally wish i wore out shoes faster, its sad to see it happen but i dont get to rotate nearly often enough.
