tie dye + camo is one of my favorite pattern combos(tied for 1st with tie dye + argyle which I imagine is even more divisive). rainbow tie dyes with anything military inspired gives vietnam vet turned hippie vibes that I like(for those that don't know, my camo isn't military its duck camo) its derrivative of a military camo called frogskin
olive green is a neutral color so it goes with every color in the rainbow, its not for everyone but definitely valid.
>>18199272
the haters are retarded it looks good except the pants look too long from what I can see and you could be wearing any shoes for all we know

Does anyone have tips on how to pose in a way that doesn't make you look like a sped. Aside from not being one, can't manage that one im afraid
>>
>>18199887
>long hair
>mixing stripes with camo
sup twin. that shirt is perfect, it's a nice vibrant shade and the stripes are just the right thickness. all striped shirts should be like that in my opinion. good color coordination, very well composed outfit. I like that its ignoring that bullshit "don't mix patterns" tip which is supposed to be like training wheels for beginners who don't have the taste to know which patterns go together

as for posing, you are likely imagining that you look like more of a sperg than you do. don't stress about it too much, do poses that are natural and comfortable. try to think about how you would stand if you were waiting in line for 10 minutes or something. however you exist naturally, you should accept how that looks. posturefags are so full of shit, slouching is ok and forcing your back straight 100% of the time is bad; your best posture is your next posture. you can pretty much do whatever you want with your hands
>in pockets
>hang at side
>behind the back
>arms crossed
>>
I can't believe you faggots think you can give me advice in other threads hahahaha you all dress like shit
>>
>>18199925
I'm guessing most waywt posters are like me and don't waste time on retarded frogposter threads like yours. A lot of the people who give you advice will never post a fit on /fa/. If you don't like any of these outfits you are retarded and probably european too.
>>
>>18199062

>>
>>18200148
how fucking obvious can I make it that I'm not baiting on waywt? I have a long history of trolling and baiting people, I am definitely a troll in general but I'm earnest here. It would be completely pointless to troll people, which implies some dishonesty and malintent, who I can easily piss off just by existing and positing an opinion they don't like and arguing for it. you people have no idea, I used to be such a menacentrolling right wingers, pretending to be ftm trans and shit. Just gotta get in better shape. then it'll look natural
>>
>>18200753
idk maybe they weren't too tight
>>18200937
>hey blueboots maybe don't wear blueboots
come on man, I am clearly dressed pretty intentionally. I like the orange and the blue with the olive and the rainbow. It's not like I wouldn't change it up at all, but the only variations I would see myself doing are swapping the hat for my pink supreme snapback or wearing neither and replacing the boots with my orange leather chucks which you might like.
>could be nice without the hat
the hat goes with the jacket, because of the close relationship between bass pro shops and hunting as well as the fact that I got both of them from the pyramid in memphis. with the hat and boots, I have contrasting colors on my top and bottom. I also like the way it's pastel shade goes with the pale jeans.
additionally you are wearing all neutrals which detracts from your credibility when it comes to color (I am assuming the color is your issue because a trucker hat and boots are pretty obvious things to pair with the rest of the outfit)

Nice outfit.
>>18202105
The shoes, pants length and watch don't fit the aesthetic.
The shoes are too informal and round, you should try something sleeker, imo derbies but oxfords work as well.
The pants are simply too short, see if there's some fabric you can lengthen them with.
The watch looks like a toy while the rest of the outfit screams early '90s """businessman""", either don't wear a watch or wear something that really looks like luxury, be it a Seiko presage or a replica Rolex.
The mix of golden watch and silver ring is questionable, I would personally not do it.
The jacket shoulders are too large for you, as evidenced by the creases running from the shoulder line to the armpit and the cran, and even in jackets with the right shoulder width those creases might be an indication of a different shoulder slope between the jacket and your actual shoulders.
But I see the potential, keep it up.

I get what you're going for, the 90s Armani slouch style, but the pants length and shoes don't work. If there's any fabric inside or a hem, let it down. Wider shoes would also look better. The shoulders are a little big but that works for the look.

>>18202209
I normally really like your fits but I'm not sure on the pants. The rise is really high, it makes your torso look compressed or out of proportion, and the pants look too short like they're cropped. Shoes are great, really like that style of belt too. If you like that style of shoe, have you considered Paraboots?

I know there's been alot of advances over the past 100 years in regards to sustainability, including previously endangered tree populations coming back, so it may not be as bad as you're thinking.

This only applies to North America, Europe, maybe some South East Asian countries and Australia. I know logging in South America is a fucking clown show.

>Soaking raw denim
I don't like soaking immediately, I like wearing them when they're stiff until they soften dramatically, I find I get better fades that way. Also I'm curious with unpredictable shrinkage issues with jeans, I've had denim shrink a half inch in near boiling water then shrink over an inch weeks later during a normal wash cycle. Anything dealing with raw denim is pretty much bro science at this point because results vary so dramatically.

Coco Chanel did nothing wrong
Good fashion is like good seasoning. It’s best used to accentuate the natural qualities of the base ingredients it is working with, in this case your own body. Knowing how to tell what heightens this is what taste even is. Throwing as much random shit in there as you can find like a brownoid just ruins any kind of cohesive flavour, at that point it does not matter what you are working with because it’s all levelled by the eclectic mess that’s been thrown on top of it. And it WILL be mogged at every turn.
>>
>>18204504
Post a fit that exemplifies this
>>
>>18204461
Thank you. Your sport coat/jacket should comfortably cover your ass. The high rise makes the coat look longer than it is, but if you look at the fly and crotch the jacket is only about an inch to inch and a half past the bottom of my ass. I'm not a fan of the short coat look, alot of manufacturers went back to higher rise but haven't put the length back on coats and jackets yet.
Spier&Mackay is a prime example. A 42l suit has a roughly 13 inch rise which is good, but the back length of the suit jacket is 30.5 inches. Traditional length would be around 34 inches.

This principle is literally the foundation of what fashion even is. Right now in the 21st century the state of civilisation is imperilled by an endless quantity of barbarians and dégénérâtes that do not know how to dress, don’t let them win /fa/.

Just to be contrarian, you're both fucking retards for acting like fashion is binary and there's a completely right or wrong way to dress and it's the same for every person.

If you want to be le epic intellectual fedora tipping Steve Jobs knob slobbing heckin wholesome reddit minimalist (aka I'm too broke to afford good shit), go ahead and do it.

If you want to be a turbo faggot and just keep slapping accessories on like a Claire's just vomited on you, go ahead. Neither one is right or wrong, one person enjoying one style shouldn't ruin your appreciation of an alternative style.
How much of a sad bitch do you have to be that you're threatened by one maximalist retard?

It’s not just accentuating your body, it’s complementing what you are doing, harmonising with the very environment around you and saying something about who you are as a person. Fashion does not happen in a vacuum, it’s the seasoning that ties disparate elements together.
Take another look at your fit. What, if anything, there is thoughtful or cohesive? Literally anyone could wear that and achieve the same effect, the universal denial of any respect for you by anyone.
>>18204615
> right or wrong way to dress and it's the same for every person.

I don't know what you think minimalism says about you as a person but my intuition tells me most people today choose minimalism out of laziness or lack of confidence or just not caring about clothes
>Take another look at your fit. What, if anything, there is thoughtful or cohesive?
thanks for asking!
Any time I wear multiple colors I have to consider how they look together. I also have to think about the connotations behind each individual garment.
the first outfit I posted is very cohesive hick-hippie fusion
bass pro shops hat - hick
duck camo jacket - hick
tie dye - hippie
levis - both
blue duck boots - both
ring - hippie

As in a fit will be heightened based on what you are wearing it for, this is related to harmonising it with the environment around you. You can have a fit that perfectly accentuates the form and colours of a person and it is still a faux pas because it’s completely incongruent with the activity and/or the setting. The activity, the mileu, the weather, the season, the local architecture, all of these can heighten a fit and the truly activated dresser will account for such things. Which brings me to my next point, this minimalism/maximalism binary is a nonstarter, you do not achieve more drip by wearing nothing anymore than you do by just wearing as much stuff as possible. It is an absurdity that misses a the point of what fashion is even about, that the first ingredient is your self. You do not make a steak taste better with ketchup, you just make it taste like ketchup. Let alone if ketchup is not enough and it also adds curry and more. The actual steak that should be the centrepiece of the ensemble is unidentifiable. Consider your braids. This is a haircut that belongs on a young black woman, not on a grown white man. It does the exact opposite of complement your forehead and your receding hairline. Such a bizarre hair styling decision is the fruit of ignoring these basic principles of fashion sense.
If you thought about how these colours look together you would have noticed the hat is not colour co-ordinated to the rest of the fit. Without even to touch on the questionable tie dye+camo decision. The bright orange hat overpowers whatever hick-hippie vibe was the objective simply by power of its clash with the otherwise largely baby blue and dark green fit. Not to even comment on the term «cohesive hick-hippie fusion» or how the ring relates to either of these aesthetics.
The fact that nobody else is going to be caught dead wearing these outfits is not a matter of if they could but if they would. In equal measure you will see nobody imitate them.

>In equal measure you will see nobody imitate them.

I have to disagree on this part. Not saying I like the style but most of his fits remind me of shit Post Malone and his contemporaries wear, right down to the braids on a white dude. Throw some face tats on Blueboots and I'd be dead on. I have no idea what this style is called but it's very much a thing.

End of the day, it's not my thing but ultimately it doesn't affect me in the slightest. Sure, I can offer critique of it but clearly we're viewing fashion through two very different lenses so what's the point? He has a distinct style and is wearing what makes him happy, he's spending his own money not mine.

Now that I typed that out it kind of hits me how ridiculous the whole thread as a concept is. Once you develop a distinct and consistent style, it's hard to critique unless the other person dresses in the same style and plays by the same rules. Things that look "wrong" to me may very well be "correct" based on the inherent structure of different styles. I just realized once you lock into a distinct style it's better to post in a general dedicated to said style than here because your opportunity for growth would be limited here.

You're absolutely correct and I have started going to the gym again. I just lost 60lbs, now I'm working out and I'm getting on TRT as well. Not doing anything extreme, but I am in my 40s so I don't mind getting outside help. My testosterone levels have declined with age so I'm looking forward to hopefully getting back to where I was in my 20s. I'm probably always going to be a lanklet but if I can put 10-15lbs of muscle on and be in better shape I'll be thrilled.

>braids aren't for white men
you're not my dad, you're just a chud from a farwaway land (poland)
>It does the exact opposite of complement your forehead and your receding hairline
My hairline has literally always been shaped like that. I remember inspecting it in 8th grade science cuz we had to see if we had widows peaks, my hair didn't have a pointy peak but it didn't look like a straight hairline either. I definitely wasn't balding at 14. I'm pretty sure this hairline is a genetic mutation(I'm not coping I swear). anyways, I don't have to be ashamed of my hairline or my forehead and I can show them off if I want cornrows
>questionable tie dye+camo decision
there is no question. everything about camo + tie dye makes sense to me, I know I'm right about this.
>le clashing orange bad
colors on opposite ends of the color wheel look cool. you call my hat "bright orange" but its not like I'm wearing neon orange. pastel orange is not that offensive of a color.
>Not to even comment on the term «cohesive hick-hippie fusion»
hicks and hippies have more in common than you might realize. think about it.
>or how the ring relates to either of these aesthetics
the heart is a universal symbol of love (kind of important to the hippies). its not their most used symbol but hippies have been using hearts for a very long time.
>The fact that nobody else is going to be caught dead wearing these outfits is not a matter of if they could but if they would. In equal measure you will see nobody imitate them.
not everyone is polish. most people just aren't eccentric enough to develop the wardrobe to pull off some things. fashion is purely functional for people who don't make it one of their main interests. lots of people like things they wouldn't personally wear too.
>>
>>18204717
>End of the day, it's not my thing but ultimately it doesn't affect me in the slightest. Sure, I can offer critique of it but clearly we're viewing fashion through two very different lenses so what's the point? He has a distinct style and is wearing what makes him happy, he's spending his own money not mine.
this is pretty much how I imagine most lurkers think
>Once you develop a distinct and consistent style, it's hard to critique unless the other person dresses in the same style and plays by the same rules
This is a reason why critiquing outfits can be absurd, but even people with vastly different styles can have good discussion if they try to get the other person to explain their thoughts instead of telling them what to do. That will never happen so there is something slightly absurd about me posting into the void, its not like nobody likes my outfits but hardly anyone is dressed similarly for me to compare styles with. if you think about it im pretty much exactly like sisyphus
>Things that look "wrong" to me may very well be "correct" based on the inherent structure of different styles
true
>I just realized once you lock into a distinct style it's better to post in a general dedicated to said style than here because your opportunity for growth would be limited here.
yes but it only works if they have a general for your style. there's a really bad ratio of frogposters to general threads these days. so many styles don't recieve any attention. everyone needs to stop replying to frogtards without typing sage into the options window btw

>>18209195
Making clothes would require purchasing even more commodities than just buying the clothes and would represent the beginnings of a petite bourgeois artisanal enterprise.
Man, just take it on the chin, /fa/ as a concept is probably the second most aggressively capitalist board after /biz/.
>>
>>18209218
would making bread represent the beginnings of a "petite bourgeois enterprise" because bread - and the ingredients to make it - happen to be commodities?

>>
>>18209221
Bread, or anything for that matter, is commodified by the market not by virtue of its mere existence. Commodities are goods, goods are not necessarily commodities.
But yes, combining your labour with small-scale capital to produce marketable goods literally is the most basic form of petite bourgeois industry. Take that bread to the market and suddenly you’re a baker.
Do communists not even read Marx anymore?
>>
>>18209229
Is english your first language?
>goods are not necessarily commodities.
Is that not exactly what I was getting at?
>>
>>18209230
Already answered in the post
>But yes, combining your labour with small-scale capital to produce marketable goods literally is the most basic form of petite bourgeois industry.
>>
>>18209232
Is it a marketable good if I eat it? And never intend to sell it?
>>
>>18209233
After? No, it has been destroyed. Before? Yes, same way a coin is fungible even if you intend to immediately melt it down and never part with it.
But the important part is you’ve already established the capital necessary to make an enterprise of it and dialectically speaking it would be nonsensical not to. I truly do not understand the communists that take Marx and turn it into a weird moral framework. If you’ve got the expertise and technology to produce clothes, and you are forced to engage with the capitalist system in some fashion, why would you not just be a petite bourgeois artisan instead of a normal prole?
>>
>>18209234
So every meal I make is a commodity because I should be selling it if I'm to be a reasonable person?
>>
>>18209237
Every meal you make is a marketable (theoretically) good, it’s actually marketing it that makes it a commodity.
But fundamentally the economic pull of meals made in your kitchen is just not as attractive as handmade clothes. Meals need to be served pretty much as soon as they’re prepared while clothes are non-perishable, this means there needs to be some built in infrastructure to bring them to the consumer ASAP, and also ideally that they’re made on order rather than in advance, given you don’t have McDonalds tier logistics. Clothes don’t have this problem, you can stack them to the ceiling and sell them later. People make bank on Etsy with no more investment required than to make clothes for themselves, going in to catering would require substantially more investment than just making your own food in the kitchen.
So yes, in summary, /fa/ is necessarily consumeristic as fuck and there’s no way to refute this.
>>
>>18209238
So clothes are necessarily commodities, and food isn't necessarily a commodity ... because food expires and clothes don't
which economist did you get that idea from
>>
>>18209244
You see, I choose the phrase «marketable good» carefully because I knew from the jump you were angling for some gotcha on these lines, but it was for nothing because you are retarded and need to be reminded what a commodity even is in every second post. Read Marx and learn the basics of your own economic system.
>>
>>18209250
>your own economic system
I never said I was a communist.
All I'm saying is that being interested in clothing is not necessarily a consumerist quality. It might be, but it doesn't have to be. The same is true of motorcycles, computers, and pottery.
>>
>>18209257
But, as demonstrated, manufacturing clothes requires even more engagement in the market than merely buying them does both in terms of necessitated buying and potential selling and, given the nature of a WAYWT thread you cannot argue anyone posting here is merely interested in the photography of clothing. The fact that any hypothetical to create a non-consumeristic area of engagement is so incredibly contrived is the greatest proof of how consumerist it really is.

I fucking kek'd hard at this
I know its a lot going on with the pink and blue and mint green all at once. If I had the yellow model of the campos which I would if they weren't sold out at the time, I would wear those as well and this outfit would have 4 colors. Fashion like mine is similar to genres of music that you don't like at first. The more stuff in that style you experience, the better you will understand what they were going for and appreciate it for what it is rather than wanting it to be something else. if you had someone in your life like me, you might think I look a bit silly and even make jokes about it, but after a while you would learn to appreciate it for what it is and the jokes would stop.

as an aside, I think you look very similar to the youtuber RobinSwords. pretty good fit btw
