Is it a good fit or did it ruin the style of jeans forever (low waist, slim tapered legs. Basicly every jeans nowadays)
>>
>>18244624
I've got the Levi's Vintage Clothing 505 1967 cit and they are a straight fit with no taper. Low waist and a slimmer leg than a 501, but very different from modern slim fits.
I love it, one of my favourite pairs, actually.

Anyway, and just to be in the same page.
In 1967 Levis released tge 505, it was meant to be a more modern jean -for the time- than the 501. It was levis' first jean with a zipper instead of a button fly, had a lower waist and was less roomy on the leg while still being a straight cut. I would say slim, but that term these days pictures something in the mind akin to the 511.
As with many levis models the 505 suffered some changes in the fit to accomodate for trends over the years.
Sometime in the 00s levi's launched the Levi's Vintage Clothing line, a higher end line using patterns from the archives and raw denim to reproduce classic versions of their jeans.
Aside from that they also released the 505 original 1967 fit on their main line.

I have a pair of 505's and they're not as slim as that nor is the buttocks area so cramped. They have 1% spandex I think too for stretch. Probably my favorite pair of jeans.
>>
Am I wrong, or did the rise creep up in the 80s?
>>
>>18244695
Sorry man im just messing with you. The thing is i just bought a pair of repro levis 505’s made by Resolute and the description specifically details that they are tapered from the knees down. So i just figured thats the way 505’s are made, its hard to tell from pictures and many websites write different descriptions. Anyway, my point is most jeans sold today are slim fit, low waist and most people that wear these fits look stupid. Probably because the proportions have changed to make the rise uncomfortably low and the legs too slim without adjusting the size in the hip. Anyway, im very happy with my 505 repos and feel like the low waist/slim legs kinda makes sense

High rise was popular again in the 80's,yes.

>>18244720
>they are tapered from the knees down
Techbicaly speaking, all jeans are somewhat tapered from the knees down, even the straight fits. You'll have to go to some 1930 repros to get perfectly straight fits, look for factory worlers' pics from that era to see how they fit. Some people like it, I don't.
The thing is that in order to avoid excesive fabric from the knee down most jeans taper a bit countouring the leg, that includes jeans described with terms like striaght and regular. But nowadays saying tapered usually means agressive tapering, like in the 511 slims or the 510 skinny which are basically ballcrushing legging in jeans form.
Picrel is how modern -for the era- straight jeans fit in the 60s.
>>
For me it's the 550
>>
>>18244624
Why? 505 is neither slim or tapered. It is still low rise like everything from the Jew brand. Apparently circumcising the goy population is not enough to appease the Jew.
>>
>>18244720
I think its tricky with a low rise because unless you buy them really tight your ass crack will be visible when you bend down. And since most modern brands use shitty denim that stretch and guys usually pick too big of a size in the waist you get a bunch of ass cracks everywhere.
>>
>>18244624
wide leg has been the trend for years lil retard
>>
>>18245299
You guys keep saying that but 90% of zoomers don't wear jeans. They wear joggers and if they ever wwear jeans it's joggerlike cuts. Milennials are still wearing their slims and skinnies.
So, it's a trend actually a trend if barely anyone follows it?

505 is solid for some body types. its not for me but i wish more repro brands branched out more from 501.

>>18245024
11 1/4" is a mid rise.

Thrift fags are closeted homosexual degenerates. Imagine wearing some other man or woman's clothes. I can at least understand wearing your family members' clothes, but complete strangers? What kind of a beggar would do that? Have some self-control, you niggers. If you can't buy something new, then get something else instead of reducing yourself to a pathetic beggar who wear's someone else's clothes.
>>
Back in 2010, the 505 was the only style you could find in the suburban discount stores, worn by schlubby overweight kids who couldn't afford to go to the Levi's store and buy 511s or 501s. It's a straight jean with "extra room in the thighs" for the AJ sopranos of the world.
>>
>>18247547
my kohls stocked 501 stf's back then and they'd put them on sale for like $8 a few times a year.
>>
>>18247549
my rural regional department store stocked stonewashed 501s. I knew things were headed downhill when they replaced them with indigo wash 505s.

urban outfitters used to carry unbranded brand jeans. when they dropped the product line around ~2011 they did a 50% off sale on them and a guy on reddit found a way to stack discount codes down to $3 a pair. store managers were letting people buy out entire stores' inventories. my local uo didn't have any in my size but i snagged one to use for fabric patches on other jeans and a few other pairs not in my size that i just gave away to friends.
sucks that those extreme coupon shows eventually aware'd corporate america to the practice of discount stacking.
>>
505s are so trash. There is literally no reason to get them over 501s.
>>
501s are actual twink fag jeans. If you have even slightly thick thighs because you’re athletic then 505s accommodate that way more than 501s
>>
>>18247918
if you can't fit your legs in 501s you need to put down the twinkies, fatboy.
>>
>>18247919
For me its the straight line from the waist to the tighs combined with the high rise that just fuck everything up. I have two 501 repos and they both feel awkward af.
With 505 the legs doesnt even feel that tight because the extra room in the tighs and the low rise makes them hug your ass just right. Theyre not optimal but atleast i can wear them without feeling uncomfortable
>>
>>18244624
505 is all I wear. When the fit is good it's my favorite fit of all time

you need to get off that teenager $50 jeans bullshit. you got a job right? get yourself a pair of 1930's to 1960's era lee rider reproductions from
https://lee-japan.jp/
https://www.jeans-neshi.com/mensjeanskan/lee/lee-vintage-menu.htm
https://lee-japan.jp/features/lee_archives_pc.html

or a pair of jeans from belafonte ragtime:
https://store.belafonte.jp/

all these jeans are unsanforized and shrink 8% every dimension when washed account for it with math.

the small waist to big thigh ratio is WAY better than any modern fit fag shit you can buy. 30's have the most thigh room. if the smokestack leg is too much just go to a tailor. and they have a buckle back for /fit/bro weight fluctuations and/or so you can size up and cinch down the waist for an even better waist to thigh issue. in fact i would not recommend going tts on these.
as far as i am aware these are the best fits in existence for /fit/bros without going bespoke.
you're welcome.

if you lift and your jeans don't have a buckle in the back or suspender buttons you're SERIOUSLY fucking up.
imagine gaining or losing weight and not being able to wear your pants untucked because the waistband is all bunched up. lmao. can't be me.

shit even if you are poor you can get a lightly used pair of 30's lee repros for the same cost as a pair of shitty ass levi's if you f5 yahoo auctions japan for a while.

Happens a lot with mass produced jeans.

My lvc 1967 are lower rise and narrower leg than my current production 501s. Kinda hate how Levis keeps the model number but changes the fit.

Chinos are a completely lateral move from blue jeans. They are a functionally identical casual pant. Only an american brainlet would think that represents "big boy pants"
