>>18248805Well I am an expert and this is the stupidest answer.Mink fur is shorter and the differentiation between the undercoat and guardhairs is not as distinct.You are correct that this patterned with smaller hides, but those are not whole hides. This is coyote. These are coyote sides which are a less desirable cut of the fur. They're discards, waste from making more premium fur articles. Gaurantee this came from a Chinese manufacturer or a second rate furrier in the old eastern bloc.Coyote sides are discarded because the sides shed easily and readily bald from standard wear, it does not retain its stretch, and is more subject to balding than the highly desirable back and neck.It isn't worth what they paid.

>>18249903I do know it's not mink because the other for coat I have is mink. Maybe it is coyote, idk I thought it looked more foxlike. I inherited it, it was my grandmothers, and I know nothing about fur. Its at least 30 years old. The tag in it is from a furrier that opened in the late 1800s and hasn't been around for a few decades. Anyways I'll ship it to a reputable furrier and have them get it in good order, hopefully for use this winter
