>>18266890>So are toners and exfoliants the same thing?nope, there are creams and serums out there that can exfoliate too>The OP seems to list them interchangeably and under the same recommendation list.yeah sorry these are kind of old and i will probably drop them from OP at some point but at the moment they make people post and thus bump the thread>>18267181their toners are mostly hydrating which is an alternative to western toners that are basically astringents (opposite of hydrating)their sunscreens are great and have the modern filters. this is due to the local low they have. once a new filter is developed or incorporated into a product, it is pretty easy/quick process to get it approved and thus reducing time to market. reformulations in existing products are also common because of itjust make sure there is no alcohol in ingredients and you good>>18267772nta but shrinking pores is usually benefit of BHA (salicylic acid)AHA i believe works a bit deeper in the skin (correct me if im wrong) depending on which one you choose (glycolic going the most deep as it is lowest molecular size). but if you have sensitive skin go with something like lactic acid as it is not that harsh and is actually moisturizing>I dont have acne but my skin still doesnt look smooth and I feel like I have open/visible pores.if you dont mind using sunscreen - get aha + bha toner like COSRX - AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner (AHA requires you to use suncreen)if you mind using sunscreen - get bha toner or serum or cream or whateverif i were you though i would first get the usual trinity of skincare gigachad gods which is sunscreen, moisturizer and a retinoid (and cleanser i guess). give it some time to work, use them regularly, then reassess your needs after 2 months. unless you already have a routine then post it>>18267804really good stuff, i have nothing to addhow do you like copper peptides and the toner?>>18267860do you apply cold water on balls before shaving?
>>18267846never had much need to shave my balls. yeah, 'commando corduroy' is what they used to call me. practically shaved themselves
>>18267846This instead of all that gay shit.
The two-finger sunscreen rule: is that just for my face or for my face and neck?Because if I apply it only to my face I look all greasy but if I apply it to my face and the front of my neck I look fine once it dries. I use a little extra to hit the back of my neck since I don't want to spread it out too much.
>>18267846This is my stack bros. Can I do better? >Tretinoin >La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer >La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face CleanserMoney isn't an issue as long as suggestions work.
>>18267883>if i were you though i would first get the usual trinity of skincare gigachad gods which is sunscreen, moisturizer and a retinoid (and cleanser i guess). give it some time to work, use them regularly, then reassess your needs after 2 months. unless you already have a routine then post itat the moment my routine is super basic, just cleanse then moisturise and exfoliate 2-3 times a week i can get sunscreen for surewhat retinoid do you suggest if i am just trying one out for the first time?thanks
>>18267970Are you using these things in the posted order? Because cleanser after moisturizer is absurd.Assuming reverse posted order (which makes perfect sense) this looks good though I'd advise you to move retinoids to the PM and upgrade to an SPF 50+ sunscreen. For me it's Purito Soft Touch Daily sunscreen since it's sweat-resistant, but shop around. You haven't posted skin type or concerns so I can't help much more than that. How I would do your routine if all I had were those products:AM:Rinse faceMoisturizerPM:CleanserTretMoisturizer (I personally use my sunscreen as moisturizer in the AM and use a heavier more occlusive moisturizer in the PM). I'm a drier skin type and not acne-prone though.
>>18268229 (Me)>MoisturizerI said "moisturizer" when I meant "moisturizing sunscreen" since that's what your moisturizer is. To be clear, retinoids or not, sunscreen is probably the one true skincare non-negotiable.
>>18267883>do you apply cold water on balls before shaving?I see how it could be useful by making the sack contract, making for a potentially easier shave. But no, I use hot water. Oh and I always go with the grain on the shaft. The surroundings I trim down to 3mm.
>>18268246>go with the grainSince we're talking about shaving, I'll mention that I go with the grain on my face too. I tried against the grain once and it was visibly a closer shave but I got a shitload of razor bumps.I don't fuck with shaving my balls though. I just trim my ball and pubic hair, I feel like sticking a razor anywhere down there is asking for trouble.I'd also advise you to avoid putting shampoo on your cock and balls. Consider shaving cream/gel instead. The skin is way more sensitive than even face skin.
Question: Is there a difference between cerave cream (the tub one) and lotion? I have dry skin.
Another question: what is your guy’s opinion on alcohol in sunscreen? Yes, no?
>>18268814For me alcohol in skincare is a hard no, ESPECIALLY for leave-on products that I use every day. It dries out the skin, damages the skin barrier, and over time will age you.
>>18267996>exfoliate 2-3 times a weekWhat product do you use? Physical exfolitation is bad for the skin.
>>18268229Thanks anon. Yeah so to be more specific I doAM:Rinse faceCleanserMoisturizerIf it's hot, I'll reapply the moisturizer midday for sunscreen purposesPM:TretI should probably take the "cleanse and moisturize at night too" pill. My only issue is acne scars, but they aren't that bad. I mostly just want to take care of my skin as much as I can from this point on. I'm always paranoid that I putting shit on my face that's only going to make things worse.
>>18269014Most recently I used the Paulas Choice one from the OP, why would that be bad? :(
>>18268958Thanks for clarifying
>>18269072Chemical exfoliants like the Paula's choice are fine when used responsibly (which it sounds like you are). Physical exfoliation is when you use rough surfaces or grainy products to scrape away the dead skin cells and it leaves micro-tears and other irritation on the skin.
Has anyone had a lower eyelid correction to get rid of their under-eye bags? I'm 30 and thinking of finally getting one as no amount of cream or injections is going to make it better.
redditors say that epilating and sugar waxing makes the hair grow back much less, but isn't it equivalent to plucking? i'm half asian and i've plucked my pubes for probably 5 years and they grow back thicker than ever, it's extremely uncomfortable and time consuming to remove. i used tens of thousands of flashes with an IPL device on my legs and pubes and got promising results initially (on the legs only, not pubes) but i stopped doing it because the hair growth was just obscene at the time with hairs growing thick in new places so it was basically a futile attempt to keep plasting it with IPL just to stagnate the growth at best instead of removing the hair.
>>18269192Ah okay yeah I only ever used a chemical exfoliant.
Any moisturizer and toner recommendation for oily skin with seborrhea (but no acne)? I'm using CeraVe Smoothing Cleanser right now for exfoliating and cleanser. But have no moisturizer.
Which lip balm do you use ?
>>18270042Aquaphor tub
>>18270050The entire tub? I use the lip tube to avoid unnecessary contact

I took a four-week break from all skincare products and experienced incredibly dry skin, but nearly all of my acne cleared up. For a year, I had been juggling various cleansers and moisturizers, and finally decided to give my skin a rest. After the break, I gradually reintroduced a cleanser and moisturizer, and now my skin is the best it's been in a long time. I'm sharing my experience in hopes that others might achieve similar results. For reference, my skin type is combination/dry.
>>18269553It really shouldn't have any affect on your hair growth. If you feel like it was really growing in thicker/more after that time period, you likely had something else 'change' during that time (hormonal imbalance of some kind or another.)Since moving to this new house 6 months ago, mine and my partner's entire bodies are breaking out in massive, oily cystic acne. The only options left at this point are>Water quality.>Hidden mold or mite issue?>Air quality, since the house is on a main road with car exhausts blowing up all day every day. It's so bad, anons. I have more pus than blood left in me. I'm going to try to find a professional service to check our water and look for mold asap.
Is there a difference between skincare advertising its function/s as "brightening", "lightening", "whitening", or "glowing", or are they used interchangeably? I am pale and do not want to use any products that will make me lighter as any bit of redness or blotching on my face stands out more. What ingredients should I avoid?
Is tea tree oil legit? If so how much/little do I apply and where on the face? Eg on or away from acne zones?
>>18270042I've tried half the items in your pic. Been using this every night before bed for years now. Keeps my DSL's nice & juicy. Definitely the best I've found.
Alright friends so I have now got;>cleanser>moisturizer>exfoliant>retinoid >sunscreenso in the morning should I just do cleanser and sunscreen? moisturizer plus sunscreen feels like overkill?then at night>cleanse>retinoid>moisturizeand occasionally use the exfoliant once or twice per week? my main goal is for my skin to be smoother/tighter i dont really get spots often but i want that smooth skin look
>>18270763I wouldn't use cleanser twice a day. Morning sunscreen, night cleanser (to remove the sunscreen) plus moisturizer, insert retinol before moisturizer 3 days a week or every other day. I wouldn't use retinol daily specially when starting out.
>>18267846Is argan oil a psyop? it doesn’t help my hair, what’s the best hair moisturizer?
>>18270957oh sorry, wrong general
>>18270860Thanks :)I just applied Retinoid for the first time and my skin already looks better, is this some sort of magic serum?
>>18271204It's one of the skincare GOATs for sure but it can do damage up to chemically burning you if you don't ease into it. The damage can take a week or two to manifest in the form of skin peeling. If you are just starting retinoids, start with three times a week, then after maybe 3 weeks go up to every other day, then after 3 weeks of that, you can go to nightly. Don't apply it twice a day.Once you're adjusted to it, though, it increases cell turnover and makes your face brighter, and it stimulates collagen production to make your face smoother, and it tightens pores and regulates sebum production. It's a wonderful product.
>>18271336Thanks for the advice
Rate mine?I'm not big into skin care, but I try to keep my skin clean as much as I can.The little brown tube is basically an anti-acne/blemish toning and curing cream.
It says one tube of Differin is a 30 day supply but I'm almost done with week 3 and there's plenty left in the tube even though I've been applying nightly.I usually apply just enough to spread on my face before it gets dry and tacky. Do I need to use more or are those labels a trick to get me to buy more?
i dont really get red spots very often but i get little white spots around my nose/forehead maybe every few days, what does this mean and how can i prevent it?
What's the deal with ginger? Anyone tried products with it? https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23268563/>Human skin protects the body from mechanical and chemical damages, and skin wound healing is a costly procedure and worldwide issue. A Zingiber officinale compound, 6-dehydrogingerdione (6-DG), is presented as a novel biofunctional healing agent for human skin wound repair. The effectiveness on cell growth/migration, growth factor, collagen amount, and enzymatic activity was assessed. 6-DG treatment accelerated cellular proliferation and migration dose-dependently. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) showed that 6-DG brought about higher growth factor productions on transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), platelet-derived growth factor-αβ (PDGF-αβ), and vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF). Under phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) incubation, 6-DG increased fibroblast collagen yield obviously, reduced matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) protein expression, and recovered tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) secretion. 6-DG also blocked the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway by suppressing c-Jun protein levels and extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERK) phosphorylation in fibroblasts. From all of the above, 6-DG has potential to be a novel agent for human skin repair.

What's the redpill on dry eye issues from long term tret/retinoid use? Using adapalene for about a year, what else should I be using for mild smile and forehead lines?>>18269553the thinking behind that is that repeated pulling of the hair can damage follicles over time. i've heard of IPL causing paradoxical hair growth especially in non-europeans
>>18271408Solid basic routine. Integrate a sunscreen in the AM. Often sunscreen is a good enough moisturizer too, unless your skin's particularly dry.Are you Polish btw? Or at least in the EU? Do you mind trying the Pharmaceris Spectrum Sun Cream and giving a review? Specifically, I want to know if it dries shiny/greasy because if it dries non-shiny, it's literally a holy grail product for me.I ask because I don't live in the EU and I want to make sure it's as good as it sounds before I eat the debilitating import fees that I'll incur for it.Remember the two-finger rule for sunscreen too.
trying to get into using sunscreen more regularly, started with the cerave SPF 30 am one and not 100% of the time but pretty frequently it burns the shit out of my face and leaves it a little red. i don't really have the same problem from the regular cerave moisturizer i use or adapalene. it also pills really bad and looks like shit on my skinwhat are some other sunscreens worth trying?
>>18272681>sunscreen burns my face>the moisturizer doesn'tFirst step is take a look at what ingredients are in the sunscreen but not the moisturizer. Try to figure out which ingredients you're sensitive to.Secondly, avoid any sunscreen that uses both mineral and chemical filters. They interfere with each other and make the sunscreen less effective and more irritating.Sunscreen worth trying:Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing SunscreenPurito Seoul Daily Soft TouchNeutrogena Sheer ZincBeauty of Joseon Relief Sun Rice SunscreenBlue Lizard Mineral SunscreenOctocrylene in particular can cause skin irritation and burning on exposure to light (yes, this kind of defeats the purpose of being a sunscreen, it's a terrible filter). Look for octocrylene and oxybenzone free sunscreens. North American chemical sunscreens fucking suck because they refuse to approve newer filters so we're stuck with obsolete filters from the 70s. Oxybenzone in particular there is no excuse for continuing to use that shit.
What's the harshest soap I can buy off the shelf? I need something strong for my feet. I'm considering even using dish soap.
>>18272693>need something strong for my feet. What's wrong with them? If it's fungal you could consider something like ketoconazole shampoo. In general when it comes to skin though, unless you need to "reset" and purge something like fungus, consistency is better than intensity. Deal with your foot issue then get something like a soothing body wash and make sure to wash your feet every single day.
>>18272694It's fungus. I have it mostly on the defensive using anti-fungal creams, but it always wants to come back. I barely ever wear socks and shoes, so it's not a moisture/fresh-air problem.
Alright ladies and gents, give me the rundown on benzoyl peroxide for mild face and moderate back/ass acne>I never suffer irritation from products. Is there any reason not to go for 10% over 5%? This may sound like a stupid question, but when doing cleansers - after lathering it on my face do I wait or immediately wash it down?
>>18267894Putting fat from cow's ass on your face is the most gay thing past 10 threads I'm afraid
>>18273065I have this issue with them too. I tried a few including Neutrogena "Sheer" Zinc and it made me look like I had anemia. It's not just an issue for brown people.I think maybe ones that have a lower zinc oxide concentration (they'll have some titanium dioxide to compensate but their combined concentration is still lower than zinc-only) MIGHT be better for it but I haven't found one I like. I also don't like the way titanium has slightly worse UVA coverage than zinc and the low overall concentration of filters gives me pause.I just stick to chemical sunscreen. Sucks that it makes me look shiny but I can control that with powder.
Does whatisinmyjar's sunscreen finder work for anyone? Or is it just broken and they refuse to take it down?
>>18273078Depends on the type of cleanser, the instructions on the bottle should tell you. But generally it's a lather and rinse off right away situation. The only time you'd let it sit is if there's some active ingredient that needs to absorb.

>>18273319>have you been to dermYes, a couple, years agoFirst one would only prescribe some antifungal cream that didn't do anything more than the otc stuff. Second one prescribed the antifungal pills (terbinafine I think), which worked a bit, but not enough. They have a high risk of liver damage, so couldn't take them too long, and the fungus eventually returned.Lately, I've been washing with the same gentle-ish soap I use on the rest of my body, and I can feel the fungus coming back. I'm relatively new to this skin care thing and I don't have the patience to go through the sticky. I've always had severe nodular acne with deep inflamations that gave me post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I've bought some tropicals & a face wash in the hopes of looking better & dealing with future acne bursts, but haven't a clue as to how to use'em. These are:1% salicylic acid face wash(that supposedly contains witch hazel), clindamycin & nicotinamide gel, adapalene(without benzoyl peroxide) and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel. What do? For context, I'm a guy who only uses a bar of soap for bathing & washing my face. I also use some random shampoo once in two days for washing my hair.
>>18282227Oh, I've also bought an spf 30 sunscreen. These nodular acne always pop up in my cheek & jaw area

>>18291186Hope all goes well for you anon. I would use something stronger than the CeraVe stuff you're using now though. You'll likely never get your skin back to what it was like before being in hospital unless you get fillers, but even the small differences count. My hands still like to remind me now and then that they don't like steroids by getting red, sometimes blister, and flake.
>>18291191Depends on your skin. At the end of the day some people cannot shave clean without the skin reacting badly no matter how nicely you use a proper safety razor and lather up.
>>18291191It can irritate the skin but that's what shaving cream/gel and aftershave are for.Do not use aftershave with alcohol in it.Personally I use Bulldog Shaving Gel and I follow up my shave with my standard moisturizer, which has enough soothing ingredients that I skip aftershave. >>18293163>applying THE worst shampoo on the market on your facewhat could possibly go wrong anon>>18294097>>18294798PharmD here. No supplements are useful for your skin right off the bat, and you shouldn't preemptively take supplements for your skin to look good. or for anything for that matter.Deficiencies are supposed to show you what's wrong with your lifestyle. You should be taking a vitamin screening absent any supplementation for am month, consider your eating habits and overall lifestyle, see what you can improve, retake a vitamin screening, and if the changes don't get you quite there, THEN supplement. And then you take another screening. If things aren't good at this point, chances are it's something you would be very glad you discovered in time rather than hid with extra supplements. The human body is a chaotic system (in the mathematical sense of the word). That means that any visible problem is usually not just caused by one glaring issue, but by a sum of underlying variables that get ingrained in feedback loops that then cause bigger issues, etc.Case in point : an older woman with anemia supplements her diet with extra iron, making the anemia symptoms disappear. If she had corrected her diet to incorporate a normal amount of iron, she would still have anemia. Is that bad ? No, because then she'd complain to her doctor. Maybe switch to a lower strength retinol ? idk about the ordinary but their hyaluronic acid serum and their retinol serum were so oily i literally threw them after two uses.
>>18295148I wouldn't say it's dry. Texture wise it's soft. But I kind of feel like appearance wise there's just something off? Like my skin isn't really retaining what it should. So my skin is soft and moist, but textured. Pic related. Only thing I'll comment is this is basically eod and by this point of the day my nose is sometimes a bit oily>Also the light in my kitchen is super cold so it makes me look more pale than I already am >Also also I'm a little broken out from a dirty towel they used when I got a wet shave the other day So yeah, I was thinking a better exfoliator will probably help clean up this skin texture a bit and then I will be good, but if I'm missing something I'm way open to suggestions.

I wipe the sweat off with a towel pretty often and I shower soon afterwards... but I'm still getting lots of blemishes, and even little whiteheads. >>18299900Well, in the morning after eating breakfast and wasting time, I...1. brush teeth, rinse with mouthwash, floss2. shave with a cheap Amazon brand 3 blade cartridge using Gillette Series Sensitive Shave Gel, then thoroughly rinse off. I don't moisturize at this point, because then I...3. Go run, 30 min at least, sometimes more if it's the weekend. I sweat a lot. If I'm inside on a treadmill, I'll towel off my face as needed4. Then, get home, shower, rinse off face with warm water, sometimes use a bit of Cerave SA Cleanser. Wash rest of my body with Ivory soap bar and wash cloth5. Dry off, then moisturize damp face with Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream
>>18300041NTA but I'd move the shave to after your run. The steam from the shower softens up the hair. Post-shave is a moment when the skin is irritated and I'd certainly not want to have sweat on my face right after.Check the weather app on your phone to verify the UV index when you run too. You may want to sunscreen up before your run. (UV index of 3+ means sunscreen up, I sunscreen up daily no matter what because I used retinol).

There's other places on my body where my skin isn't that great either but this is just bad and I've been struggling with it for years? Is it sun damage? Is it dehydration? I'm literally drinking 2L of water everyday non-stop. It just feels like there's a layer of skin under my current skin that just won't come out no matter what I do.Is the only solution to this botox? I'm only 19, I had bad acne for a few years but I went on a 9 month course of Roaccutane and finished it recently and I have no more really bad acne anymore but these lines were present althroughout before, during and after Roaccutane. So wtf is it?
>>18300144Better picture to show the issue. Current regime>AMAldi hyaluronic acid moisturiser>PMTO retinol 1%Cerave moisturiserThinking about adding Matrixyl to the mix, I also use an spf 50 when im going out into the sun. Is there anything I should change about this? I have pretty big pores on my nose and my skin tends to get a bit oily. I just wash with water or cleanser if I have makeup on
>>18300144that salicylic acid cleanser is very aggressive and probably too stripping for your skin. Use the Cerave hydrating cleanser instead, their light green one. Having overly dry skin can result in that terrible texture and that cleanser is making it worse. As your skin gets more hydrated again, the clogging will also go away.I'd recommend you add an extra hydrating toner or ampoule to your routine while your skin heals. The moisturizer itself won't be enough, you want another layer under it. I'd swap out the vaseline for rose hip oil (helps irritation). Also add a sunscreen during the day. The roaccutane without sunscreen will result in very easily irritated skin. For hydrating layers, I can vouch for the below (you just need one of these):>Skin 1004 Probio Cica Centella Intensive Ampoule >Cosrx Snail Mucin Power Essence>Kikumasamune Sake Skin Care Lotion High Moist (apply 2-3 layers of this)
>>18300292>>18300144Ah also please note that some people get closed comedones with the Kikumasamune toner, so if you have skin sensitive to ferments, don't use this one. So years back I had very bad acne on my face. I went through treatment that minimized it. Now I still have scarring but it's gotten better. I'm retarded. I kept reading online to use tretinoin, lamenting that I didn't have any. Then I realized the Retin-A I get from Mexico occasionally actually is tretinoin. >>18300352entire face nightly with nothing else you are in for orange peel skin and sun burns
>>18300352You have to ease into tret, I would advise you to get a lower-strength retinoid to start first even. You need to start twice a week, wait 3-4 weeks, and if there's no issue, escalate to every other night, then after another 3-4 weeks, escalate to nightly.I personally started with a 0.5% retinol solution and now I use 1% retinol, which I'm happy with. I' not sure I'd go direct to tret even if you're easing in.
>>18273045>Thread still upBeen using it for a few weeks and while it does work (especially on the face), for every acne blotch it kills, 2-3 more appear on the back. This is like whack-a-mole, just want a clear back
>>18301337I found that lots of exfoliation works the best to prevent back acne. If you are a white person you may have mild kerotosis pilaris that leads to your pores getting clogged easily. In the shower, start by using a rough cloth to scrub down your back / back of legs / etc and then apply your soaps. Then when you are done, use a moisturizer of some kind to keep your skin from creating a lot of oils and getting clogged further.
That thing is must have for minor injuries. I accidentally got the 1.5 cm long cut on my chin and that thing closed it in a minute with no irritation afterwards.

>>18300041For long-term sebum reduction, which could be contributing to your symptoms, niacinamide and retinol are great options. You might already have niacinamide in your Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, but double-check as product formulations can vary by country. If you decide to try retinol, remember that it typically requires daily sunscreen use. As for your diet, have you reviewed it? Certain foods are known to trigger breakouts, and you can find extensive lists here or in archived threads for guidance.>I had to stop running for a couple weeks because of an injury and the skin problems stopped, so I'm thinking there's a connection...While it could seem like everything is fine, the body is incredibly complex. Physical activities can sometimes reveal or intensify underlying issues that might otherwise remain dormant. Exercise, in particular, has a way of bringing certain skin conditions to the surface.Lastly, you may want to explore alternative moisturizers if you haven’t already. Some people find that Cetaphil’s formula doesn’t work well for their skin and may even cause breakouts. Trying an oil-free moisturizer might help as well. All these steps could help reduce your symptoms, although there’s no guarantee they’ll completely resolve the breakout issue.

It's so hard to tell if niacinamide is doing anything for sebum but I used to wash my greasy ass face 3 times a day with dove soap and now after a month of use, I'm down to one and blotting off the excess oils 6 hours later with a paper napkin to feel ok.Also, I'm still looking for a cure for dark eye circles because of thin skin, I tried hyauloronic acid for 2 weeks but I'm not sure it's doing much of anything.Incidentally, I'm also blasting 10mg oral minoxidil and supposedly this causes dark eye circles but they were already like that before starting, plus the skin can't be that thin because the oral min caused some peach fuzz to start growing on my eye circles which I now have to shave off on occasion.I feel like I'm experimenting on myself but it's kinda fun.

>>18309603where the fuck do you live if it never goes over 1? mate its not even midsummer and it hit 9 today where i livei say dont even bother about sunscreen, wear a hat (you are on /fa/ anyway) and the sun sensitivity is nothing to worry about
>>18309607>where the fuck do you live if it never goes over 1?It goes up to 2 and sometimes 3 in November where I live (Northeastern USA).Winter for me is Summer for you because you're on the opposite hemisphere from me.
I'm at the stage in life where I just want to be as superficial as possible.Everyone I know that commands respect from men and women all look like they're a million bucks and I want that. From grooming hair, to shaving, to manicures/pedicures, is there a singular thread on /fa/ that streamlines all the things you need to do to be as superficial as possible? What combination of threads would be the best? This one and /watches/ are the only ones I can think of.
>>18308809you damage skin barrier and any product (even gentle) would cause redness/sting. Takes weeks to recover. Even 1% retinol is too strong for most people.
Azealic acid is a miracle product for me, it's the only thing that instantly calms down my skin and makes it less red.
>>18309346Are you sure your skin is clean before you apply it? I had the same thing as you because I thought just washing my face in the shower would be enough, but using a UV camera showed me that it doesn't get rid of the sun screen at all. Just something to consider.
>>18309623You need to be applying sunscreen on your face and neck any time you go outside before dark anon. A lip balm that contains at least 30 spf is also recommended. If it's winter just wear gloves if you don't want to put sunscreen on your hands as well.
>>18310173I use Cerave foaming cleaning in the morning and evening, then beauty of joseon red bean water gel as moisturizer in the morning or sunscreenI the evening ever since i added the cerave one (both the regular and the one specific for the evening) i wake up in the morning with some red spots that eventually turns into pimpleI've been looking for something similar to the red bean water gel for that fresh feeling but with no success
>>18309640No you just have to check every general for the guides.
should i just use hyaluronic acid moisturiser and drop all my other skin care? i feel like most of its doing nothing. i might pick up a nicatinamide because i want to look ghostly pale but idk if it will do that
I need advice on how to fix all of this. I looked into skincare stuff before but idk where to start my skin gets oily as well. What are good products to start with
>>18304266checkedyes this is the one. read package for instructions on how to use it>>18304684introduce sunscreen and moisturizer, maybe a gentle cleanser like LRP tolerianeAM:- cleanse with water only or use cleanser if greasy- moisturizer- use sunscreen if going outsidePM:- cleanser (to get rid of sunscreen)- moisturizerreport back in 2 monthsjust keep in mind skincare is about consistency>>18305698yes>>18307016>Bought some dove bodywash but honestly my skin looks worsethey have a few lines of bodywashes, which one you chose? was thinking to get something myself but not sure which one>>18307023i usually use shampoo on my face. but at my girlfriends the water is really hard and i use filtered water on my face over the sink
>>18308809>whats the drawback to using strong retinols? sometimes its redness, contact dermatitis, skin peeling off. you also need to use sunscreen obviously>also what about retinoids? why cchoose over retinol?retinol is a type of retinoidsthere are stronger retinoids like adapalene, tazarotene, tretinoin. they are less irritating and more effective (because they need less changes to become retinoic acid). see this if you have not already: https://www.skinacea.com/retinoids/types-of-retinoids.html >>18309346the one you mentioned has shea butter early in the INCI list. try lightweight oil free ones, they help with oily/mixed skin type and acne.cerave pm or neutrogrena hydroboost if you want to try something small. if you prefer big bottle get cerave moisturizing lotion. for kbeauty recs check archives>>18309603i would use sunscreen when leaving house for more than 30 minutes in that case>>18309640google looksmaxxing>>18310171sounds like rosacea>>18310611checkeddepends on your skincare goals. post full routine and how long you have been doing it. were you consistent?>i might pick up a nicatinamide because i want to look ghostly pale but idk if it will do thatit wont>>18310825start with cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen and retinol (like cerave resurfacing retinol), these are absolute basics of most skincare routines. read about them and ask questions if you have any (when to apply etc) _before_ you start.since your skin is oily, make sure to use oil free lightweight products only.also check out youtube channels like Dr Dray or Doctorly for basic information (OP is a bit outdated)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hevaszImfJk
>>18310858Thanks friend I'll check out the YouTube channel I've been looking at kbeauty stuff for awhile and American face products to and it has been a struggle to figure out how to fix My acne...
>>18310923Assuming you're >>18310825 don't worry about the k beauty stuff, just get the basics down like >>18310858 said. The only asian skincare products I'd look into are the sunscreens. I'm also black asian sunscreens are the only ones that don't make me look like I'm Dave Chappelle doing whiteface.
>>18310933Lol I understand I'll just do the basics
>>18310858>post full routine and how long you have been doing it. were you consistent?i inconsistently do retinol 1% and cerave moisturiser at night, hyaluronic acid moisturiser in the morning. i use the aldi ha moisturiser, people always comment on my skin when i use it. im thinking i need to rework this routine because its not very good. sunscreen when i go out of course (when longer than 10 minutes)
Any way to avoid lower eyelid wrinkles? Used to just apply tret directly on my under eye region but I keep seeing people complaining about getting severe permanent dry eyes so I stopped.
>>18310948yeah start with any drugstore brand like cerave or cetaphil. neutrogena hydro boost line works too (they have good fragrance free moisturizer and cleanser) >>18311275seems like you are after a basic routine, possibly anti aging? what are your skin issues? since you are saying it is doing nothing. if you are <25 i am not sure if you will see any significant changes from retinol.im unsure about hyaluronic acid effects but afaik they are short term (idk 24-48h?). i really dont care about it in my routine. they pack it everywhere anyway so there is not much choice. but on the positive side of things HA helps other ingredients to penetrate the skin.if you like the aldi ha moisturizer - keep using it. if you are after hydration, simple slugging with petroleum jelly in pm does great things and reduces trans epidermal water loss of your skin by 99%. but do moisturize before thati am unsure about your other products (sunscreen, retinol) and their ingredients but check if they already have HA on the INCI list.>>18311418>Any way to avoid lower eyelid wrinkles?anything that stimulates collagen production: retinoids, certain types of vitamin c serums, high percentage glycolic acid peels, copper peptidesapply with some spacing so it does not get into your eyes>severe permanent dry eyesbeen using various retinoids under my eyes and im fine, currently tazarotene 0,1%. see how it works for you before you make a decisionif i get too close to my eyes with any product (moisturizers mostly) my eyes sting a little randomly throughout the day
>can't fix dark circles because I can't gain weight at all without 3000+ calories every dayIt's over?
>>18311577yes, die
>>18311418>lower eyelid wrinklesi have had good luck with hyauloronic acid to smooth out eye bag wrinkles, just added retinoids and alpha arbutin + HA to lighten and thicken the skin under my eyes, please hope!
>>18311577>can't gain weight at all without 3000+ calories every dayHalf-cup of peanut butter is around 760 calories. Blend that shit with milk and protein powder to get over 1000 calories that you can chug.
>>18312036it's so easy to gain weight, a single fast food meal is like 2000 calories if you get multiple refills of soda, you have to really try to stay skinny and malnourished.
>>18312453>is like 2000 calories if you get multiple refills of soda,This is true but that's sloppy weight.Peanut butter is mostly unsaturated fats, with a decent amount of protein. It also has a decent mineral profile. Almond butter is even better. You can genuinely make gains with a peanut butter protein shake a day. Not so with multiple liters of soda.
>>18267846>Studies on how diary and sugars create acneWhat if I'm lactose tolerant?
Dude here. Total beginner to skincare and learning at a slow pace. I have a couple Q's.1.) How much does testosterone and DHT play into skin care? 2.) How many of you consume sugary things whether they be fruits or added sugar? How often?
Is there a shaving general here or one of the other boards? Interested in starting to learn about DE shaving, shaving soaps and brushes.
>>18312613You can talk about shaving in this thread.
>>18312584testosterone in particular makes a huge difference. i didnt notice any difference in my skin being on fin for a few years but once i started hrt my skin got softer and a little bit dryer (less oily). it also completely got rid of my acne and backneas for your second question i eat cake a lot and i dont think it makes that much difference to my skin. i would get breakouts if i ate chpis and chocolate though, but ive totally dropped them from my diet now (well ok i still eat a bit of chocolate)

everytime i try to get into skincare i feel overwhelmed by information. i don't even know how to classify my own skin if it's oily, dry etc. what are some fool-proof ways to have even slightly better skin without putting in too much effort? i already try to avoid the sun
>>18313781fool-proof ways to get better skin without deep dive:1. buy a gentle cleanser. Look for hydrating. Use it at night. Also buy a decent moisturizer.2. use a new towel every day. Do not reuse dirty towels. Change your pillowcase at least 3x a week.3. Take a look at your diet. Avoid sugary and processed foods. Eat plenty of veggies, avoid red meat and alcohol.
