Say what you will, but you can't deny, Uniqlo is the brand to beat right now.
>>
>>18286481
I hate fast fashion with a passion, however Uniqlo is on a tier of its own, it's still shit but not a heaping pile of shit compared to brands like H&M. I have been wearing a pair of sweatpants which are super comfortable and gets the job done.
>>
>>18286481
my local thrift store i used to find designer gems at every time i went to in the 00's is full of nothing but uniqlo stuff now. so you're probably right.
>>
>>18286481
man, i just hate japanese or korean fashion! the hype about it, i dont get it.
if you want to buy something exagerated, baggy and sloppy, take hm. uniqlo is just the price but not the quality. anyone but fools can see that. i recommend not getting any of that and leave it be.
>>
Never saw anything I ever wanted to buy in an Uniqlo. Same for Super Dry. I guess you have to be poor.

It's like saying McDonald's is the brand to beat for restaurants, because it's the biggest chaini restaurant.
I don't hate the brand tho, i just hate plastics.
>>

blame vinted
>>
>>18286661
Hating plastics is literally the biggest normie npc golem trend right now
>>
UNIQLO costs more than BR and similar stores on sale and isn't higher quality so I don't see much of a purpose shopping there. Their heattech shirts are great though. I almost exclusively wear them under my sweaters during the winter.
>>
>>18286739
>right now
fucking zoomers
>>
>>18286660
I tried buying from the twice
both times nothing was send and my order has been cancelled after 10 days or so
>>
>>18286739
good for normies!
>>
>>18286481

My personal favorite for basics currently is LAA. You can go on their Depop and get new 14oz. fleece hoodies with small stitching errors for $15-$20
>>
>>18286739
Thanks for reminding us what is normal, plastic boy.
>>
Uniqlo is the reason why Zoomers STINK.

Polyester is not breathable and keeps the smell.
>>
>>18286481
I would buy it If it wasnt for the fact all their clothes are made in china trash
>>
>>18286661

I dont like plastic but fuck paper straws.
Im gonna get a foldable metall straw so i can enjoy mcdonalds milkshake again

Just because "normies" are doing something right doesn't mean it's bad, you stupid fucking contrarian moron. Imagine doing something simply to defy someone else. That's what children and stupid people do.
>>
Uniqlo cotton/linen basics are unbeatable in value to price. Great pants also
>>

>Hating plastics is literally the biggest normie npc golem trend right now
I wish. Sadly, most are completely indifferent.
>>
>>18287976
this
their cotton is solid. the linen shirts are okay but the pants are fire and probably will last me another two summers.

there's taobao brands with cotton basics that are a tier or so up from uniqlo at half the price. but shopping on taobao from a western country is above most peoples' heads.

>>18287937
my state forced businesses to switch to paper straws then found out the adhesives are carcinogenic so you're seeing everyone switch back to plastic straws kekw.
>>
For basic stuff they're not bad. Their wool is far from the greatest, but a wonderful alternative when you're young/still studying and can't justify spending around 150 bucks on a nice wool sweater. Their cotton shirts and tshirts are also very decent and have been lasting me years now. I don't give a shit what online store has similar quality, I want to walk in into a store and buy what I need.
>>
>>18286481

im usualy ahead on trends since i live in califonia and here most people were hating on polyester since 2021, i rmeber throwing aay all my polyester crap. and trhowing away all my teflon pans. and only cooking in stainless and eating outta glass. that was also the time when everyone here started eating raw ground beef and going in the sun more.

so i would def agree if your barely hopping on the anti plastic bangwagon you are late.

I also don't care about ocean animals or "global warming". It's literally not my problem. Neither is that all men are so low t now. Actually it's perfect for me since it means no competition for young zoomer pussy.

Isn't taobao just an another version of some Alibaba stuff like AliExpress, Temu or Shein? I used to but clothes from AliExpress, shit looks cosplay tier, it's like your paying for a costume that tries to look like the real one. Definitely much worse than Uniqlo quality. If you have links or names I would be very happy to be proven wrong

>Isn't taobao just an another version of some Alibaba stuff like AliExpress, Temu or Shein?
no. taobao you're buying direct from the manufacturer the rest you're buying from resellers with marked up rates for foreign customers in exchange for the website being friendly to use and in english. prices are lower on taobao.

>I used to but clothes from AliExpress, shit looks cosplay tier
you're buying the generic dropshipper crap. there's a small handfull of amekaji (american casual) brands in china that are actually good. they make denimbro stuff, /tip/ stuff, and military reproduction basically anything classic americana.
also low key these brands pretend not to but they often use uhygr slave labor cotton. which most countries have banned import of so other brands can't use. its extra long staple similar to zimbabwe cotton but its cheap as fuck.
the fatigues i'm wearing in this pic are from a chink brand and cost me like 35 dollars. 11oz cotton sateen with urea buttons and a faithful-to-the-original cut. i had originals years ago and these feel the same except these ones are a bit thicker/heavier weight and a bit less smooth of texture as a result. pretty hard to find anything to complain about. oh i guess i had to seam ripper off a dumb looking tag and re-sew the buttons to be shanked. but you have to do that if you want shanked buttons on the originals anyways no skin off my back.

red tornado is highly based. despite being slightly below jap quality they do two things that will make them forever own:
- they're the only brand reproducing vintage carhartt.
- they're the only brand i know of who makes repro jeans but opts to use modern polyester thread. not everyone wants the vintage detail of your pocket falling off of your jeans a year into owning them to be reproduced.

the selvedge jeans are good.
the supima cotton tees are good (the other ones aren't)
the crewneck sweater is good but basic
the sweatpants are dece usually theyre a little different every year
the ocbd's are aite but you can get something way better like vintage brooks brothers off ebay for the same price.
that's about it other than the occasional limited items/collections that are dece. their workwear line last year had a few good coats in it i would have bought them if they made it to the sale bin at my store.
>>

how are the default pants for most americans reddit? and how does selvedge even have anything to do with reddit? reddit was 10 years late to the selvedge trend back in the day. in fact the trend pre-dates reddit even existing. did you get memed into believing something that's not true from other clueless kids online?
wym the cut is a good slim/athletic cut. not every tee needs to be boxy fit flash in the pan trendslop.
>>
>>18297914
i dont think most jeans are selvedge
>>

>zoomer thinks you're supposed to wear baggy everything because baggy is trendy
lmao you're supposed to pair baggy pants with slim tops or a slim top underneath a boxy unbuttoned one for it to actually look good.
lmao not knowing your generation's own trends (that are just rehash of how my generation dressed in high school)
>>
>>18291713
whats wrong with polyester?
>>
>>18298305
it can irritate the skin, especially when body temperature spikes for some people (myself included). it smells worse when you sweat in it compared to other fabrics. it also creates a ton of static electricity.
>>
>>18298524
thats too bad, I inherited many of my dads 70s and 80s dress shirts which are polyester/cotton blends and this nice smooth sheen that my all-cotton shirts dont seem to match
>>
>>18298305
It is plastic.
>>
>>18298891
nta
polycotton is good. back in the 70s and 80s when they put polyester in something it was an intentional inclusion for stuff like hand feel, drying times etc.
now days they throw it in everything and make stuff out of high %'s that feel gross to touch because its super cheap.
>>
>>18298916
>plastic slop
:/
>plastic slop, OLD
:O
>>
>>18298943
there's a difference between intentional inclusion of it for specific reasons related to its material properties, and just throwing it in willy nilly because its cheap. learn about the history of the hoodie for a good example of polyester being intentionally used for its traits.
>>
>>18298979
So what? How does that negate the drawbacks of polyester?
>>
>>18298993
i'm not going to give you an education on textile design and materials science. pre-nafta outsourcing race to the bottom era of the garment industry polyester was used less often and in lower %'s because it was only used when it was chosen intentionally for its material properties (take 5 minutes and learn them retard polyester has many upsides too its very strong, it can be made into long fibers, it can be made into complex shaped fibers HINT not all polyester is the same dummy, it dries in 1/10th the time of cotton its resistant to pilling and wrinkles etc i'm just scratching the surface.)
over time as producing polyester became cheaper, more brands got bought up by investment firms and the outsourcing race to the bottom began due to nafta and zara came up with the fast fashion business model which incentivized brands to slop out clothes with it as cheaply as possible.
christ moron take 5 minutes and read about the history of the t shirt quite a few of us on this board were alive in a decade when 50/50 poly cotton tees were considered higher end than 100% cotton tees.
you're brainwashed into durr all synthetic bad because you're conditioned to modern mass market fast fashion industry and shein slop tier clothes.

>>18298993
also skin contact with polyester and synthetics does nothing. you can tell people like you are morons because not all synthetics are the same chemical and some are a lot more inert than others. were you smoking pot in chem class? hurr durr. there's no known pharmacokinetic mechanism for or evidence touching it makes it seep into your blood.
you read pop science headlines and didn't actually read the studies. its an environmental concern. a major one i'm not trying to downplay it the fashion industry is like 12% of microplastic pollution.
it makes its way into your blood/brain by your clothes going in a landfill or shedding fibers -> gets eaten by fish -> makes its way into the food chain -> once that happens it will make it into every human on earth as seen today.
not by touching it lmao. yes you should buy less synthetic and be more responsible with it. some people (like me) do stuff outdoors where relying on wool and waxed cotton is not good enough. what did people do in the past? died of exposure or simply didn't go the kind of places i go. stuff like pfas jackets should have only ever been sold to mountaineers and hardcore backpackers, people who hunt rugged terrain and the like. they shouldn't even be for sale to morons in like 3/4 the states in this country because they're too humid for the things to even work correctly in. but becky looks cute in a north face so now you have plastic in your blood that puts this little voice in the back of your head, "maybe it *would* be fun to suck a cock"
