Who makes good glasses frames made of titanium? I mean real pure Ti frame, no chink "metal" "flextanium" "memory metal" or any toxic Titanium-Nickel alloys.I am looking to get my final pair of glasses, a discreet, flexible, ergonomic and comfortable pair, and from my search I have concluded that Titanium is the optimal material for the frame. The only designers I have found so far are Lindberg (which are made-to-order only so difficult to choose) and Gotti. Are there any others?
>>18313440Lindberg is the best in this category, particularly the Air Titanium collection.
Specsavers
>>18313444I checked Cubbits and theirs were clearly nickel alloys. That brand in general screams of pretentious globohomo London-core, peak competency-crisis. Didn't consider Specsavers so far, but they look like shit online. I will check out the titanium frames at Ace&Tate sometime.
>>18313443An optician asked for a £50 deposit just to order a try-on frame. This style looks interesting, but I am afraid they won't be suitable for crown glass lenses.
>>18313440unironically Raybans. ive had these titanium aviators for 2 years now and theyre in way better shape than any steel framed glasses ive had over the years (would have long since started to oxidize in the rain/wet). theyre made in japan so would have been expensive but got ehm on sale for 200 or so
I'm looking into Matsuda for their gold plated titanium frames
>>18313517Definitely recommend Matsuda.
>>18313468That's an alloy with Nickel which is harmful. Also, they're ugly
>>18313814>Also, they're uglyugly your ass, can you elaborate about the alloy thing tho.?
>>18313440>give me the chud special in ..LE TITANIUMImagine having to wear glasses let alone these chud ugly ones lmao
>>18313440>no chink "metal"virtually all titanium in the world comes from china so any brand you buy from is going to use chinese metal.you might be able to find a japanese brand that doesn't use chinese titanium, only country that produces both titanium and high end eyewear.
>virtually all titanium in the world comes from chinaespecially in eyeglasses because other countries are going to specialize in higher grade stuff for aerospace/medical.
oh also any brand not using chinese titanium is probably going to tell you.
>>18314021Pure Titanium is matte and light. But manufacturers cheat the consumer by selling alloys with Nickel as "titanium". Nickel is a common allergen
>>18313814>>18314099yep i am fairly sensitive to nickel and react strongly to jewelry that contains any amount of it (intense itching and swelling and eventual skin lesions). these frames havent bothered my skin at all
>>18313814>The superior quality Japanese titanium used in the Ray-Ban Titanium Collection..One of the world’s finest metals, pure titanium is nickel-free and hypoallergenic, making it suitable for even the most sensitive skins.so the titanium itself is made in japan after all too. myth debunked
>>18313517>>18313571Yeap. Matsuda frames are nice.
>>18314099pure titanium is also brittle af, which is why it's always alloyed.
>>18313440I have a pair by Charmant.
>>18314124>you might be able to find a japanese brand that doesn't use chinese titanium, only country that produces both titanium and high end eyewear.dipshit.
>>18314189>That's an alloy with Nickel which is harmfulyour words not mine, dipshit.
>>18313440I have all titanium Masunagas.
