I'm going to opera with my gf. First time. What should I wear? (first time posting on /fa/ too)?
outfit’s cute, but get off 4chan don’t trust incels for fashion advice
Tuxedo
>>18317314if its at an actual opera house, at night, a tuxedo or dark suit. If its at your school or something, it doesnt really matter
>>18317317>if its at an actual opera house,>>18317316It's at picrel.Tuxedos seem expensive. I was thinking a blazer.
>>18317321a blazer would be the absolute minimum. If its opening night, you should wear something nicer, if its a random show, it will be fine
>>18317314>I'm going to opera with my gf.All the old rules regarding formality have decayed much like society in general. I can guarantee you'll see people there in jeans and no one will react to it.If you want to do things right >>18317329 is correct, you need to at least wear a blazer. The good thing is a navy blazer is incredibly versatile. You can wear it with wool trousers and a tie, chinos and loafers, alot of people wear them with jeans. I'm not a fan of this look but Ralph Lauren has been doing it for decades and I'm not going to pretend to know more than him. If you're adventurous you can look on Instagram and see guys pairing a blazer with fatigue trousers, double knee work pants, etc and making it look good. It's a really versatile item no matter how you normally dress. If you have time and money, something more formal would also work well. A regular tuxedo is timeless, a conservative cut will never go out of style and as long as you don't get fat can last your entire life.If you want to be formal but also stand out, there's another option: A velvet dinner jacket like this. It's formal but let's you express yourself more than a regular tuxedo, and if you go to events often you'll get plenty of use out of it. It's less formal than a tux so you can wear it to a nice restaurant and not be over the top. You can get black but there's also deep greens, burgundy, navy, purple, etc.
>>18317314I know you pulled it off the internet but I just want to say that outfit is fucking disgusting.
>>18317314>I'm going to opera with my gf.She's definitely going to dress like a slut (tight dress, high heels, etc.). Are you sure you want to go?
>>18317314Just wear a dark suit
>>18317314the casual formal look is best, I recommend a sweater with a suit or a cardigan. You will want to be comfortable, some opera can last hours
>>18317314It isn’t the 20th century anymore so don’t listen to the spergs telling you to wear a tux, lmaoIf it were me i would do a leather boot with wool trousers , a button down and a wool overcoat with a thick lapel
>>18317703what kind of abstract incel thinking is this even
>>18317822Correct thinking.
>>18317822There's a guy on this board with a pseudo cuck fetish where he makes threads pretending his girlfriend is going out dressed like a prostitute and there's nothing he can do about it and he's soooo humiliated etc. It's not incel thinking, it's his sexual fantasy.
>>18317314The first one among these that you own:tuxedo, black suit (ideally with a bow tie), other dark suit, the most formal looking pants you have with a dark blazer or suit jacket, jeans and a black t-shirt.
