Desperately looking for an overcoat similar to picrel:

Can anyone find the shirt in pic related? Or does anyone at least know what brand it is?

whats the best leather wallet under and the best leather passport holder $200?
>>18319406Noob here, how do you guys decide the right clothing items to buy (online)? Like one that will flatters your appearance but also fit your chosen aesthetic and lifestyle? What's what's your though process when considering buying stuff? Is it just simply trial and error?I'm trying to built my closet from scratch and have a pinterest board for inspiration of what I want to aim for. I like something because it fits my aesthetic goal but when I buy then try on, I find myself feeling awkward/uncomfortable wearing it or the style straight up doesn't suit me (I don't have the face to pull it off).btw I plan on sourcing my clothing secondhand from places like depop, the realreal, ebay etc. Thrift stores in my country aren't good.
>>18320293Yes, you will waste money on clothes that you end up not liking, it's the cost of learning. I would buy new from brands or retailers with good return policies, to thrift you really need to know what you're doing. Also buy slowly and try to go for entry level, good value for money brands rather than expensive pieces.

I'm looking for a sleeve board. What do you recommend?
>>18320310>buy new from brands or retailers with good return policies>go for entry level, good value for money brands rather than expensive pieces.ehh general consensus from most people is that clothing retailers in my country suck. Clothing is either super cheap, poorly fitted, thin and plain ugly OR expensive, made with decent fabrics but plain and uninteresting in designs. Pretty much everyone here agrees the only way to find nice clothing is from overseas.>buy slowlyGood advice, I've caught myself overspending on purchases I really should've thought more about. It'll stop me from getting too caught up in trends and force me to cultivate my own thing.

>>18319878>Cheap but still good enough tier>Lands End traditional fit chinos, plain >front or pleated>LL Bean relaxed or Double L chinosBoth are 100% cotton and have great than 11 inch rise>Bronson MFG Ivy chinos or Officer ChinosGood quality, exceptional for the price. Rise will be much higher than 11 inches >Spier and MackayTheir high rise chinos are great, but slim cut. Look out for their Officer Chinos, depending on the waist size the rise will be above 11 inches but they aren't in the high rise section>J Crew Giant ChinoGood fabric, high rise, really baggy cut though>Moderate price tier>Jack Donelly>Orvis >Buck MasonThese will round around 100-160. All cotton, high rises, different cuts, decent weights>High quality>Casatlantic>SEH Kelly>Berg&Berg>NatalinoFor me, Casatlantic is god tier and fits perfectly,it's worth the price. The others are excellent too, basically find the one that fits you best from this group and you won't need anything elseI would have recommended Todd Synder but they fit for me is a little wonky and they aren't always all cotton. They cost more than Casatlantic and aren't worth it IMHO>Bonus option if you're a cheap jew like me>Buy one pair from the high quality list, send it off to Luxire to have them duplicate it.I just did this with my Casatlantic El Jadida chino, I provided all the measurements and I'm having them replicate the cut but with a higher quality fabric. You can even tweak a design if you want to, with a little work you'll have a chino that's perfect for you.

>>18323012NTA but thank you. We seem to have different definitions of high-rise, though. So far as I'm concerned, they've got to come up to the natural waist. Those Land's End ones are mid at best, speaking from experience. It looks like a lot of the pants on this list are like that. Where the pants actually sit is a function of several numbers, not just "front rise". When I go by measurements, I try to make sure that:>outseam (or overall length) - inseam > 10">pant seat circum. >> my seat circum. This method has worked consistently for me, but probably won't work quite as well if you're much taller than me or interested in anything slimmer.

>>18330561not sure, if i wear it too high my legs can be seen which should be avoided for loose cargo/jeans yeah?
>>18330244Yes, /fa/ is out of touch.
>>18330757>wear it too high my legs can be seenAnon your legs can be seen no matter what pants you wear, they're legs. They're kind of hard to miss.Did you mean your socks&calves can be seen? If that's the case that means your pants are too short and you need a longer inseam. If you have to sag your pants so that they're the proper length, you need longer pants. The pants look sloppy as shit when you do that and even worse, it looks like you're trying to act like an urban black man.
>>18330238Depends on what you're trying to tailor. You can safely take the waist in 2 inches and normally tape the leg 2 to 3 inches before things start looking too weird.Inseam you can take up as much as you want.
>>18328927>So far as I'm concerned, they've got to come up to the natural waist. Those Land's End ones are mid at best, speaking from experience. It looks like a lot of the pants on this list are like that. You're 100% correct but that's also a function of the wearer's height, their torso height and where their actual waist is. I was writing under the assumption the anon asking was under 6'0, in which case those trousers would most likely be mid to high rise.Even on high end chinos you're going to struggle to get rises above 13 inches unless you go custom, which I highly recommend. Your inseam-outseam formula is solid, on my Luxire chinos the difference is 12.5 inches.

>>18358512Mostly pretentious anti-fast fashion ramblingsPersonally I dislike them because anything I recently bought from them fell apart. The thread quality is abysmal, buttons fell off, stitching came loose etc. Around 10 years ago I used to be a huge Zara fan too

how do i get a tan really really fast without burning myself too badim white and pale and its summer here in australia, i need to get a tan before i go to the beach on the 26th
>>18359167Idk I got really badly burned when I tried tanning for like 2 hours, it hurt for a week but now I’m a nice color
Should I cop? I've never worn a sport coat before but I have plenty of clothes I can wear to pull it off.
>>18359200well im just gonna lay in the backyardi know the best way to get a tan is to spend a full day in the sun, walking around, so you get a tan everywhere, but i cant really do that for various reasonsmy only option is to lay in the backyard and just try and make sure everywhere gets a tanbut a few weeks ago i laid out for 1 hour on each side and i was red as fuck for a few days, but i didnt get ANY browner after thatfuck man i might have to just bite the bullet and find somewhere secluded i can walk around all day in just my underwear
opinions?
>>18359291do your top button up + tie a four-in-hand knot + never buy ralph lauren
>>18359309whats wrong with ralph lauren.
>>18359330costs too much for what it is, a shitty vulgar brand with shit designscan find better quality clothes elsewhere for cheaper
>>18359201where is it from/how muchI would recommend spier and mackay for sports jackets like this if you can afford it. infinitely better than off the rack you get at a brick and mortar unless you spend big money
>>18359333i bought a bunch of these vintage sweater vests on ebay. i only paid about 20 dollars each. i think they look nice, pretty simple design. i think they're merino wool. very soft and comfortable.
thoughts on hemming pants right at the lateral malleolus
>>18359333>can find better quality clothes elsewhere for cheaperThese fucking retards always say this shit and never actually tell you good places to buy the things they're talking about lol, don't trust these pretentious idiots. These people are unironically running this board. >>18359291>>18359330>>18359342anon you look fine in what you're wearing
Type 3B hair here (basically Jewish curly hair). Healthy aside from seborrheic dermatitis in the scalp. As it grows, it straightened out from its own weight. How do I promote my hair to curl up more? I'm aiming to make a jewfro/afro with big curls. I'd accidentally achieved it way back and can't recall what I did. Was I using a wide-toothed palm hairbrush (picrel)? Or an afro pick? Was it all the conditioner I was using?
>>18359341Ralph Lauren, $550. I'll check them out, I always heard good things but never did. Seems like great value since it's 100% tweed, sadly no herringbone coat in gray but maybe I can find it somewhere else.
