Yeah it's in Osaka. In Dotonbori next to that Oreo/Cheese medallion thing.
I guess you can say it's behind the running man? If that makes sensem you've probably seen it. Got a giant octopus. A sec I have a pic probably.

I just got this watch after debating getting one of the Seiko Presage as well as the Seiko titanium watches for a long time. Went in to a store twice and couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on either. Looked up another Seiko retailer and found this in a mall nearby. Was instantly drawn to it and talked the guy down from 385 tag price to 325 cash. Didn't even consider any of the details, crystal, quartz, whatever it just looked so nice I bought it.

However, I wanted to look into whether I got ripped off or not. I checked the serial numbers on the back and can't find the name or any online sales of the thing besides one on eBay for $150. It just lists it as two-tone quartz. Any ideas?

On the back it has 7N32-0DC0
Also 891135

Did you know your casual dressy watch is water resistant to 50M? Why the fuck did they print that on the dial?
>>
>>18322931
yeah its kinda dumb, cant argue with you there. It even says it on the back, well it says 5 Bar. I really do like the knit pattern on the mid portion of the face though
>>
Is there anything cheaper with the same or similar shade of red as the Oris BCPD in Oxblood?
>>
>>18322934
Did you know my watch is made of TITANIUM? Also its automatic!

Why do they feel the need to print worthless attributes to the watch?
>>
>>18322929
I'm just gonna answer to the first part. If the watch doesn't click with you instantly, from my experience, it won't click later either.
To answer the second part, the sellers have time, don't let them pretend that they don't. Open your phone in front of them, and look up the prices online. I did this once in front of a seller and found the same model 500€ less and politely declined. It's hard at first to get out of a selling situation, I know, and you feel like the more time you "waste" for them the more you're obligated to buy a product, but that's not the case. You will get used to it. Just general info. I'm not implying anything here. You did the right thing, especially getting down the price.
>>
>>18322956
yeah I did look them up in store at the first location I visited, granted I didnt find differences of that magnitude since they weren't that expensive to begin with, but I saw enough that I didn't feel like i'd miss a deal or whatever, so I did leave. Got that click instantly at the second shop and I agree, that's what matters most.

If you're going to wear some random bong's name on your wrist it'd be better if it were the name of a British horologist and not some random guy that set up a cobble-together "Swiss", aka chink OEM, operation with his two buddies that had dumb names for a watch brand so they chose his.
It's like that fake story behind the daniel wellington name.
Names matter, and no matter how nice the watch may be I can't get over the fact that it's named after a random business fag that got cucked out of his own namesake company.
ChrWard isn't even working there anymore lmao. At least Jacob the CriminalJEWeler still fronta is operation, for now anyway.

The fact that you bought a watch from a brand called "Christopher Ward" would be bad enough in and of itself.

Well, who are A. Langes' Sons?
>>
>>18324035
Ok
>>18324036
They were a family of watchmakers who were, however tenuously, involved with the recreation of the brand. It seems like it was more substantial than I had initially thought but it's not like the last Lange guy made or designed the brand's first 5. The name still has more meaning than "some brit who wanted to get in on the "swiss made" grift".

Only the Bell model is of any interest since it's actually a neat achievement and since they know how stupid their brand name and logo are such they they omitted them from the dials entirely. They must've felt pretty retarded when they got rid of Ward himself from the company. Too late to rebrand.
I heard he seethed and coped by trying to make another startup watch brand which eventually fizzled out to nothing.

>>
>>18324036
Ferdinand Adolph Lange (who went by Adolph) had seven children but the two who followed him into the business were Richard and Emil.
Emil's son Otto took over the business after that.
Then came WW2 and the Iron Curtain, which didn't do the company any favors. The factory was bombed flat in 1945 and the company was nationalized in 1948.
Then Otto's son Walter re-established the company in 1990.
The company was then acquired by Richemont in 2000 and Walter died in 2017.
I don't know if any Langes are currently at the company.

What does /wt/ think of Hermès watches?

They look like they're well-made. Their movements are made by the same company that makes movements for Parmigiani Fleurier. It looks like they've been making watches for decades.

The designs are a little "out there". Are they just another fashion brand making watches or are they underrated?

>>
>>18324289
You've got to remember that these are deeply insecure men. Otherwise they wouldn't even bother trying on oversized watches.

When the salesgirl says
>Ooh, that looks so good on you!
They automatically go into simpmode and do whatever they can to make the girl happy.

The other possibility is that they bought them online without ever trying them on and are now too proud to admit they fucked up (usually after realizing how much money they'd lose if they tried to sell the shitters.)
>>
>>18324285
If I had enough money to just buy a lot of random expensive crap without consequence or worry I'd buy that one Hermes model with the useless "Pause Time" complication just because I think it's neat.

Watchartsci rates them. That boring old bastard is one of the few honest watch youtubers.

Whether or not they are good watches is beside the point. They all look so strange. If you're an experienced collector, they'd probably be an interesting addition to the collection, but not for normal customers.

What's that even supposed to mean? If you look like a clown, then you look like a clown.

This is a lesson that /wt/ could take from /frag/. Those schizos accept that not every cologne works on everyone's skin. What smells nice on one person can smell bad on another and there's no getting around that.
/wt/ would be a happier place if the posters could accept that it's possible for one to like a watch while still accepting that the color or size makes it unacceptable for one's wrist.

It kinda makes sense though. Pretty much all through recorded history it was normal to have 2 small meals and a large meal over the course of a day. What constitutes those meals and the time of day they happen has changed, but the concept of eating a little with tea or coffee to start the day, taking a break from work to eat in the middle of the day, and having something to eat in the evening after work has persisted.

I opted for a Seiko GMT, as it embodies the elegance of the "Batman" aesthetic while eschewing the exorbitant financial commitment associated with Rolex ownership. Moreover, I aspire to journey to Japan in the foreseeable future, making this timepiece an apt choice for its functionality and cultural resonance. Notably, its acquisition is even more economically prudent than investing in a counterfeit superclone of a Rolex, which carries the ignominious awareness of inauthenticity.

I'm not very well versed at that price range and you seem to be someone who doesn't buy anything that doesn't click 100% with him which I very much respect.
At that price range, maybe an Oris would do? Don't know if they make anything out of Gold.
You can also look at slightly used Tudors.

What's the point of this watch? How are you even supposed to tell the time? 41mm diameter with a 45mm lug-to-lug makes for terrible proportions. A dumb incel's choice of watch who thinks they're smarter than everyone else.

LVMH Fashion. Who would've thought.
I think it looks cool but the readability should be a crime, I agree.

Kofe time.

The watch thread (/wt/) was once a shimmering microcosm of haute horology, a place where enthusiasts, collectors, and dreamers convened under the avatar-draped banners of its most vibrant posters. These weren’t just participants—they were the lifeblood of the thread, the architects of its golden age. But now, their absence loomed like the shadow of a dying clocktower, heralding the slow erosion of a once-vital community.

At the heart of the thread’s ethos was "Kofe Time." This ritualistic posting wasn’t just a catchphrase—it was a sanctuary. The jovial warmth of the phrase acted as a natural repellent to advertisers and opportunistic shills. Without it, the thread had devolved into a soulless exchange of marketing copy and stock images. It was clear that the shills, unopposed, were closing in.

Whoretadellos, with his penchant for ostentatious yet undeniably impressive watches, was a provocateur par excellence. His collection—teetering on the boundary between brilliance and vulgarity—was the source of BitterAnon’s relentless invective. Yet this antagonism, paradoxically, sparked some of the thread’s most illuminating debates. The friction between these two forces created a crucible of wit, critique, and entertainment that kept the thread vibrant. Without Whoretadellos’ audacious flexing, BitterAnon’s razor-sharp commentary dulled, and with it, the soul of the thread.

CMC (CatMoserChad) was the thread’s diplomat. He bridged the chasm between the accessible and the aspirational, celebrating a humble Casio with the same reverence he gave to a Breguet Tradition. His posts were a symphony of balance, keeping the peace while ensuring every wristwatch, no matter its price, was given its due. Without him, the thread fragmented—reduced to cliques and silos, with no mediator to mend the divide.
>>
>>18325572
Aoi-san was a singular force—a champion of diversity who ensured that the thread never devolved into a monotonous parade of Swiss logos. His posts were a kaleidoscope of rare microbrands, artisan pieces, and underappreciated gems from across the globe. Without him, the thread’s once-vivid palette faded into grayscale.

OmegaDrunk, the connoisseur of perfection, was the paragon of measured expertise. His posts were an art form: precise, insightful, and unfailingly human. His relentless pursuit of the “perfect watch” inspired others to refine their tastes. Now, in his absence, the thread lacked the gravitas and camaraderie that only he could provide.

The supporting cast of AvatarPosters added their own indelible strokes to the tapestry. CockWatch’s irreverent humor brought levity to even the most contentious debates. Hemibrah’s technical photography elevated every discussion he joined. ArmaniChad, with his unapologetic love for fashion watches, was a bridge for those just stepping into the world of horology. Even RatingAnon, embittered and sardonic, served as a necessary counterweight to the thread’s more saccharine tendencies.

And then there was Mortadello. The enigmatic millionaire was a myth made flesh, owning every grail watch that the rest of the thread could only fantasize about. His collection wasn’t just a symbol of wealth—it was an invitation to dream. Without him, those dreams began to wither.

Now, the thread is a husk of its former self. In the absence of the AvatarPosters, the advertisers and shills have overrun the battlements, their hollow posts suffocating any remnants of genuine passion. The discussions lack depth, humor, and that intangible spark that once defined /wt/.

The clock hasn’t stopped yet, but its hands move slower, each tick a reminder of what has been lost. The AvatarPosters were the heartbeat of the thread, and without them, its death seems inevitable.

>Light breakfasts are a modern occurrence of the leisure class.
it's highly dependent on culture. Romans for instance typically ate light breakfast if any. skipping breakfast is very common in post Roman cultures as well like greece, italy, france, and so on. breakfast as a meal falls in and out of favor over time and isn't universal to any extent.

Don't listen to anyone who tells you to buy a second hand Credor.
You're seriously overpaying for a quartz Seiko with a fragile movement.

Lunch was the large meal of farm peasants. Breakfast would often be porridge, they'd work a few hours, then someone would bring a bunch of food out to the field for all the hands to eat together. Then after work later in the evening they'd have a small supper a few hours before bed. It's the same meal schedule but the size of the meals is different.

>Your budget
$1000
>Watch type, e.g. dress, diver, pilot, etc
Nice enough to wear with a suit, but it's going to be my new daily wear.
>Movement, e.g. automatic, hand-wound, quartz, etc
Automatic preferred
>Desired features, e.g. water resistance, day/date, cock size, etc
Minimum some level of water resistance as I will end up showering with it on because I am retarded
Definitely needs a date function
Must have either a blue or green face.
>Preferred strap option, e.g. leather, nylon, bracelet, etc
No strong opinion
>Wrist size or desired watch size
38-42mm

Currently looking at the Tissot Chemin des Tourelles Powermatic 80 and the Seiko Prospex SPB121. Any recommendations appreciated.
