I am so sick of these denim queers
who makes good casual wool pants?
ideally 100% wool
>>
>>18337465
https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=100%25+wool+trousers
here you go
>>
>>18337465
Octobre editions Carl trousers, Taylor stitch Carnegie pants. Try “wool 5 pocket pants” or “wool work trousers” instead of just “wool trousers” for your search inquiries
>>
>>18337465
Keep in mind wool has to be given to a laundry service. If you try it with your own washing machine it will get ugly pilling and more and more felt like

Otherwise try Suitsupply custom made. Choose no lining and some nice buttons made of horn. Most people have never tried perfectly fitting pants.
>>
>>18337465
Rota, SEH Kelly, Berg & Berg, O'Connell's, Pommella, Armoury, Andover Shop, JPress, Suitsupply, all fine options.
There's a tier higher but I doubt anyone on here is buying $900 bespoke pants.
Avoid: Epaulet (company owned by jewish tranny)
>>
>>18337465
what fit goes with these pants?
>>
>>18337491
washing it at home is fine. use woolite detergent and lay flat to dry instead of using the machine.
>>
are 100% better than nylon blends?
>>
>>18337491
Why no lining? I like viscose lining in my wool trousers.
>>
>>18337491
Wool doesn't need to be washed often. So, it's fine. If you are wearing it once a week and don't get it soiled, you can get away with washing it only about five times a year. And if you are living in a cold climate, then wearing long johns would pretty much eliminate the need to wash them.
>>
>>18337491
You wash it in cold water and without spin. Iidiot
>>
>>18338612
Obviously yes, no synthetic is ever better than a natural material at anything, they are all meant to cut costs
>>
>>18338612
depends.
nylond blend will be more durable, but don't get so much nylon in it that it becomes a wool blend.

true to size and they fit generously, but the green ones fit slightly slimmer than the charcoal

These look like slim straight trousers but I guess they are regular fit? I’ll probably get these tailored to slim fit

they fit generously because they were designed to be worn during hunting

dry clean but you really only have to do that once every year at most
>>
>>18341270
That’s not bad, could I get away with just handwashing/hang dry? I hate paying for dry cleaning even if it’s once a year
>>
>>18341276
you can handwash but no wringing
>>
>>18338816
wool is so anti microbial that people regularly hike 2400+ miles across america in the same pair of underwear. most of them are women btw. sniffffffffff
>>
>>18340804
Black is overrated for casual wear. For wool, pick darke but muted colours. Grey, blue, browns. Or some flannels and melange types with different color. Black is also unusual for wool trousers, so unless you need a formal suite id avoid it.
>>
>>18342262
Suit*
>>
>>18341276
>Hang dry
No. Dry by laying out a towel on the rack and place the pant flat ontop. Flip over half way. If you hand, the fabric may stretch in the wrong places as wool.is very heavy wen wet. Depends a bit on the actual wool and weave. But generally laying it flat is the rule of thumb.
>>
>>18342262

>>
>>18342266
Are you a waiter?
>>
>>18342267

>>
you can get wool slacks from CDG or issey miyake or w/e for like $40 on ebay
>>
>>18339368
>>18339369
any other pants out there like this?
>>
>>18344602
Filson makes pants in their mackinaw wool too
>>
>>18343763
Thanks
>>
>>18344738
I just fact-checked myself and realized ebay is a very different world from yahoo auctions and CDG is stupid expensive, but 'wool slacks' still turns up tons of good stuff under $80 and good materials hold up, so you can buy no-name shit from before the chinese slave labor meta, when the average product was much higher quality, and it'll still be made well and hold up for a long time.
>>
>>18344741
but most of those aren't the shrunken wool like in the OP most of them are worsted wool which doesn't have the same wind/rain resistance
>>
>>18342262
This anon is correct. You can wear black wool trousers but it takes more effort to make it look good and not like a waiter or wannabe edgelord.

If you want dark wool trousers, you'll get way more mileage out of charcoal. It's almost black so you can wear it with any fit that you would have worn black but it's more versatile and you're more likely to find charcoal wool trousers in different fabrics and textures (tweed, gabardine, flannel, birdseye, herringbone, etc) than you would black.
Same goes for chocolate and navy.

If you are hellbent on black wool trousers, please don't wear all black, break it up a little. Try oxblood shoes instead of black, wear a shirt with a pattern instead of monochromatic, etc. People think wearing all black makes it easy to be stylish but it really doesn't. You have to play with fit and texture to make all black look decent. The only black trousers I own are seersucker and linen because they're unique for warm weather clothes.
>>
>>18344887
You can find those by searching for "boiled wool" or "felted wool" trousers or slacks, again many quality designer pairs available for under $80
>>

Plenty of different options in terms of weight. Several models are 100% wool.

taylor stitch, gustin (for wool five pocket pants), suitsupply or spier and mackey for dress pants, or what I do is go on mercari japan/yahoo jp/ragtag/kindal for cheap second hand designer. military surplus can be good too, but can be hit or miss.

I personally wear a lot of black wool pants, but like other posters said, its often not a good casual look (unless you wear a lot of black already). I think the keys to wearing wool casually is to get something with texture and/or other details that business/formal style pants dont have. If you do buy dressier pants to start with (like spier and mackey) then try ironing out the creases - it will make them look less business-y. Another way to do this is to get wider pants, since most business pants these days are more slim, although thats hard without spending a lot of money or going secondhand

>>18338612
for the most part yes, usually its a cost cutting measure. There are definitely brands I trust to use blends wisely though, especially outerwear with a more technical bent.
>>
>>18357000
to get more specific
>an 80/20 coat will be more durable, shrink less, mat less, and retain shape better, and be less "scratchy" than a 100% wool garment
>+ add on faster drying times & a bit of resistance to pilling & a bit of resistance to insects
i still prefer and look for 100% wool. i think it looks and feels nicer. but blends are the way to go for utilitarian garments. a lot of vintage stuff is blend.
