For the most part boots are workwear and most worsted suits will clash with this, unless you have a particular weave and cut of fabric it won't work well at all, the goal is to create harmony with a fit.

If you want to wear a suit with boots you'd need to either wear "dressier" boots like Chelsea boots or go for a more casual workwear inspired suit that would be more common in the early 20th century. Loafers can work with most things imo

I have worn through some merill walking shoes and they were fine and have lasted. I liked how they were do it all but I'm not keen on how they look, I feel like a slob wearing them.

i copped some black chuck 70 highs and the serial numbers are painted over in white paint. i looked at qc's of reps and looked these over really well and they have things like the injection marks and foxing markers in the right place which most rep's don't. and i found a small sewing error on the lasting board inside. there's zero signs they're reps other than the blanked out serial on the sneakers.
but i know that's a red flag for reps.
