I have started using safety razors due to poverty. Like, share, and comment on this development.

Another shaving thread
Pic-very-fucking-related
>>
based. only a true retard would pay (((gillette))) 20x the price for the same shave.
>>
lmao still seething about this?
>>

If you're new to DE shaving, I highly encourage you to buy a 100 pack for a variety of blades. It makes no sense but different brands work differently on people's faces. Also, do NOT use shave gel or foam from a can. Soap and brush is the way to go.

Proraso soap and a cheap tweezerman brush works for me. I also got an Alum block for the rare knicks or cuts which lasts forever unless you drop it. I also use Proraso after shave lotion. My skin has never looked better.
I used to use Astra platinums until I found out they were some offshoot of a company owned by the same company that owns gillette; unilever. Found some Japanese Feather blades that work well on my face.

You are literally me
>>
>>18348955
If you're gonna avoid astra because of gillette then you should avoid DE razors in general because it was literally a gillette patent.
>>
>>18350529
Can you show me the patent? Because its my understanding these were invented about a century ago and the patent isn't permanent. Plus companies around the world make them.

Why not just use a rusty piece of metal on the side of the road (from china), mr. $2 shaver?

Persona or Bic Chrome platinum if you are actively against Gillette. However you can use canned shaving foam but the gel's generally do not work all that well. If you wanna be lazy you can lather with a bar soap like dove+men care or ivory and your hands to get the same affect. However shaving creams/pucks are nicer in general.

Also no you do not need expensive shaving gear unless you just like spending money.

Feather blades are the only ones you'll ever need.
>>
>>18353347
Too sharp for me, they shave great after the first two times I use them but when fresh they are too much
>>
I've been too scared to shave my balls for the longest time so I just buzz the bush down when it gets to crazy
>>
>>18353310
Zomchi is some amazon chinese cloneshit, but I've heard good things about Yaqi or Weishi razors. Though you have to go on Aliexpress to get Yaqi stuff lol. How chinese are you feeling?
>>
What‘s a good safety razor for shaving my private parts?

>>
>>18353468
If the blades are cutting you, it sounds like your form isn't correct.
>>
>>18354087
Thr feather blades are a touch wider and more aggressive
>>
>>18354094
What blades are you using instead?
>>
I've been using these blades lately and they work very nicely - seem to last quite a bit longer than the others I had (some Japanese shit I forgot the name of).

In general, anyone still using other types of razor is seriously fucking up. The difference, not only in the actual shave but especially in terms of (lack of) skin damage is incredible. You will look better immediately from less inflammation/puffy skin following a shave.
>>
>>18348876
Same but because I'm an ecofag. I've been doing it for a while. Most comfortable shave ever.
>>
>>18353885
Son, just use a beard trimmer on your junk. I would never take a razor near my balls.
>>
Coming off of electric razors, there is quite an adjustment period to be had with safety razors.
>>
>>18348876
Might want to consider a straight razor. a fairly good chink one will cost about as much as 30 good blades (or 50 astra).
>>
>>18356763
Why did you stop using electric razors?
>>
>>18353473
I shaved my balls a few months ago only to find the hair was protecting my balls from chaffing. For weeks my scrotum was raw and nearly bleeding until the hair grew back. *Never* shaving my balls again.

>shatter the worldview of le elite non-conformist anti-corpo shaving snob with this one simple trick
ha ha ha i'll stick with my perfect-length stubble thanks to my mass-proudced made-in-china electric razor
>>
>>18357994
Alright then.
>>
>>18355889
My entire face burns like a bitch (even if there aren't any visible cuts) when I use a safety razor. Never happens even with a cheap disposable plastic razor. So, fuck safety razors. Can't believe I fell for the meme.
>>
>>18357926
Congratulations on learning the hard way why pubic and armpit hairs evolved in the first place, and why the skin in those regions secretes a lot more oil (thereby attracting more bacteria and causing BO) compared to the rest of the body.
>>
>>18358403

Fair enough - it's the opposite for me. I don't even need anything on my skin (apart from cold water) afterwards, it's that good.
>>
>>18348876
Has anyone tried leaf razors? They look nice but they're extremely overpriced imo

I'm using a safety razor for the first time tomorrow, already got some post shave balm and all the other stuff, so I should be alright I guess. Just nervous about scratches and cuts, I have a deep scar on my jawline and I've even struggled with cartridge razors in the past since it's so uneven.
>>
>>18360262
Just let the razor's weight do the work and lube with pre shave oil
You'll be fine
>>
>>18348876
Why wouldn't you just get electric? Much cheaper in the long run
>>

Sure thing
>Gillette Fusion5 Men's Razor + 10 Razor Blade Refills
Costs 30 bucks, and lasts maybe 30 uses
>Braun Series 3 Electric Shaver For Men
Costs 40 bucks, and lasts 5 years at least
>>
>>18360748
I thought you were comparing electric shavers to DE razors. carry on then.
>>
>>18360749
He was comparing electric to DE. He just backpedaled after doing 10 seconds of research and posted >>18360748 to save face
Or you know, he's retarded and didn't know the context of the thread despite 100% of the thread being about DE
>>
I miss the shaving ritual but I look like a goober without a beard. its been about 5 years since I used a razor
>>
>>18352356
Expired in 1921 you retard
>>
>>18361186
Its the latter, actually
