Are houses /fa/ allowed?I've been watching houses to get ideas when I finally build my own.Post whatever architechture you'd like to live in.
>>18354004I do love these mid century modern houses. They are really pleasing to look at, moreso if they blend in with the landscape they are located in.One caviat I have with them is that having glass panels as walls might become a priacy issue with neighbours. If some has lived in one please tell me if it bothered you to have this much exposure to the outside.
>>18354004neoclassical is best, glass houses are cool to look at but not nice to live in, the glare and heat from the sun makes parts of them completely unlivable for most of the day and really only work as a short term vacation house
>>18354040Wine mom tier.
>>18354040Heat and sun fading on wood is also a concern with big glass walls yes. I guess they work better in places with low sunlight?Your pic looks too cold for me. I prefer more cozy and warm colors/textures like pic related.
>>18354041wine mom is the most successful woman there is, married wealthy and has nannys to take care of the children freeing them up to pursue their hobbies of pilates, brunch and wine. Wine mom's are peak female existence and neoclassical is peak architecture>>18354045They dont really work anywhere apart from pictures on the internet, theres not reason you couldnt add color in the form of curtains, paintings, throw blankets, etc
>>18354004These fucking glass housrs are the most annoying things in the world. You can't live in one without feeling constantly exposed. No matter what you do, someone could see you from the outside."b-but the premise is secure, no one can get close to the house!!" Billion times easier to breach in a premise than in a house, + drones. Also dont care, still feel observed.Embrace the bunker as the superior form of effay housing.
>>18354047You've never sat in a conversation pit and it shows.
I want an underground concrete dome home.
>>18354007Tell me about the maintenance of this shit. How do I keep the plastic stain on the wood and if I can power wash the lichens and moss that will grow in all of those slats
>>18354068How would you ventilate a house that's underground? The only solution I see is a ventilation system but that would mean fans making noise every hour or so.
>>18354071You use convection. The home is built into a hill with vents that come out near the bottom of the hill. Cool air rises from the bottom of the hill through the interior and out of the top of the hill. These are usually built into hills not directly underground. It reduces the need to sump pump as well.
>>18354076The low cost model is earthships. South facing wall is glass, hill on the back. The glass room on the front is a greenhouse and heated by sunlight in winter. It is also the highest point. Vents are dug through the rear hill to allow convection cooling as the warm air rises out through the greenhouse and the air is cooled by the hill itself. The south glass wall feeds into a greenhouse room with a second glass wall leading into the actual home. The hippies that make these usually build them out of tires and clay and wood with only the roof being steel. Roof is sloped back and steel to catch water in cisterns. The water goes from fresh to grey from the sinks and shower. Greywater feeds the plants in the greenhouse. Water drained from the greenhouse plants goes into the toliet. Toilet blackwater drains outside into a septic with yet another garden built on top of the septic tank with shallow rooted plants feeding off the septic drainage. But you could take the overall idea and build aspects into a non hippie house that is actually on the grid and doesn't completely repy on rain cisterns and solar and wind power
>>18354084The interiors usually look far less sterile and dead
>>18354092
>>18354054>Embrace the bunker as the superior form of effay housing.Nothing worse than living in constant paranoia.
Obvious answer but it's a classic
>>18354096Reminds me of Jasper's house from "Children of Men."

The Garcia house is just peak. It makes me want to be a Movistar in the 60s
I can't post because this RETARDED website thinks my post is le spam. I'm so sick of playing the game of the braindead subhumans who are behind this.
You will never own a home.
>>18354040That's not even neoclassical you pleb
>>18354296>american vocabulary
>>18354105I read that this building was having structural issue sdue to being built over a river. Dunno how it's doing today. Still very beautiful.
>>18354040Neoclassical is revival of Hellenistic art. I am fairly certain Greeks didn't have that sort of architecture .
>>18354579Yeah they've had to reinforce some of the cantilevers a few times.
>>18354296>>18354615it is neoclassical though
>>18354738If it doesn't have huge thick pillars, it's not neoclassical. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoclassical_architecture#Neoclassicism
>>18354765its french neoclassicial you absolute pleb
>>18354768https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Église_de_la_Madeleine
>>18354779you continue to make yourself look like a retard
>>18354040>neoclassicalfake. not neoclassical.
If you don't live in an original Horta designed art nouveau house, I don't want to hear from you.
>>18354738>>18354768>>18354780THIS is neoclassical, you fucking retard.

>>18354845No you don't get it, thats peepeepoopoo sneedoclassicsm
>>18354866>Palladio>GermanI’m giving up
>>18354040If the house is intelligently designed to account for the sunlight by employing features like brise soleils it's not necessarily a problem.
>>18354040>the glare and heat from the sun makes parts of them completely unlivable for most of the dayonly if you use shitty glass, bad insulation and dont have a proper climate control system
>>18354738>pinterest said it, i believe itThis is the level of intellect we're dealing with on fa.
>>18355095this nigga like it B R I G H T
>>18354105Pleb taste my God
FLW is so overrated.
Let me guess you *NEED* more?
>>18355356>you *NEED* more?id like it to be made of stone tbqhngl
>>18355356no, less
>>18354007>windowsIt's about the surroundings. Where these houses are built it doesn't really matter, there's nobody around for miles anyways. If you live closer to people you need to take sightlines into account, don't just spam big windows. A big window facing another big window or next to a busy street will always have the blinds closed. At that point it might just as well not be there.
>>18355578Anon that room is the entire house. It's not a big waste of floorspace.
>>18355663yes, i know its schizo teds shit hole, its still cluttered and full of consooomer shit
>>18355669"Minimalist" wastes of floorspace just pay more property taxes for less. There should be things everywhere.
>>18355677emptiness is a core tenant of japanese minimalism, it is now "wasted" though, saying "you need more?" whilst needing more makes you look like a complete loser
>>18355679Now show me the other 15 empty rooms and then the bill for the handyman.
>>18355682japanese homes typically only have 4 rooms, the point of the futon is so the room can be used for something else during the day. Schizo ted was anticonsooomer whilst being a very heavy consoooomer
>>18355711What else there's nothing else there
>le uncle TedMillennial oldtroon coal
>>18354004If you're living in a house primarily for /fa/ you're living in a house to impress others more than yourself until the house is out of fashion and you're moving into another. So to speak, you don't like the idea of living in the house, you like the idea of how you look in the house on instagram.
>>18355289Nobody asked
>>18354004I watch a lot of property videos and have maladaptive daydreams about living in them. I have decided that if money and location were no object this is where I would choose to live https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e88mvrxSnf0
i really want a corner like this in my home
>>18356202Looks like a good place to rip bongs
I have a cottage core type place out in the country built in the 1930s. It’s alright. The ladies in my life seem to really love it.

>>18354047Wine mom's are middle class parveneaus. Its new money and can disappear in a generation or a bad economic depression.PEAK female existence is old money aristocracy. 900 year old wealth, loads of land, kids who mix with royals and a life free from middle class constraints. where you can be married with a toyboy and a fucking jacobean Manor house, and no one judges you. Your wealth and old privilege lets you do whatever you want and go wherever you want.See tilda Swinton, who comes from one of the oldest and most noble families in the UK/Scotland. These people are so privileged they fly under most people's radars if you meet them in public. But Europe is full of them, they basically run everything behind the scenes. No Merican rich girl compares to that.
>>18356831being from a rigid social class is not peak female existence and never will be, sorry loser
>>18356647It's like you intentionally unlinked the posts just to be annoying. Faggot.
>>18356840No: if you respond to many it complains your post looks like spam. Complain to the admins, faggot.
>>18356851So split it in two. Faggot.
>>18355637This is true. The only place houses like this make sense are in locations where you don’t have neighbors for miles. I’d still want blinds though desu because I’d probably get spooked by some wildlife in the middle of the night kek. Imagine getting up for some water and there’s a fucking mountain lion prowling around in your yard checking you out
>>18354040If your house wasn't built and designed by a retard, that wouldn't happen, and you'd have motorized shutters and curtains on top of that.
>>18355677>I pay property taxes to hoard bullshit okay???storage locker is cheaper you know
>>18356918Why would I do that when I can have a small cozy home and a steel barn for all my tools and recreation? Reduce over-appraised square footage.
I NEED this bros..
>>18357017Move to Ireland. The average rental looks super ran down.
>>18354054Only a problem if you live in a low trust society/community. I don't, so there's no problem with leaving my windows bare or my car unlocked.
>>18357039Lol... you must be from Cavan. My condolences.

>>18357017So comfy>>18357954I'm always shocked walking by the neighboring apartment complex where the ground floor residents leave their windows completely uncovered. Like any of the thousands of people who walk by all day can just take a peek at their lives. Madness.
>>18357017That's a million-dollar apartment.
>>18358006Post more pics.

>>18357017Would be better with a wooden floor.
>>18357017reminds me of GTA 4, the mission where you kill vlad. that apartment looks like its overlooking the place you kill him in the game. and a lot of the interiors have that vibe too.
>>18354633Cantilevers are architecturally retarded, you can't change my mind.
>>18356647kys, subhuman
>>18354040I'm pretty sure that's just French, not "neoclassical"
>>18354845"Neoclassical" is the term that makes sense to the trad_west twitter account cathedral tourism americans
Good thread.
