I've tried everything, washing it down with hand soap, stripping the oils off with acetone, nothing works. The wax coating can't stick to the leather for shit.

No, it's greasy and matte by default. Doesn't look half bad on brown pullup leather but it seems lifeless and dull on black leather.

the oily/greasyness is tanned into the leather itself, you're not gonna get it to shine
