What are the upsides and downsides of buying a Leon Kennedy jacket?
>>
Excellent choice of jacket!
Upsides: 1. Respect among other men
2. Respect among those who played RE 4
3. Attention from chicks who haven't played RE 4 4. Charisma points +10
Downsides: Always take it off in heated rooms if you don't want to sweat

I've seen more and more men wearing this jacket or at least with this color palette, before it was 90% women wearing this.
I've got a duplicate and it's a very nice looking jacket. Pretty warm too.

No downsides.

The shearling trim will get dirty over time, but you can't wash the jacket since it's leather.

If you want the one from the remake then you get a Schott B3.
On the other hand if you want an actual B3 then Aero Leathers is the most reasonable price vs accuracy.
You could also see Eastman Leather, Real McCoy etc.
Actual B3s don't have pockets, they have horsehide trim etc.
Personally I think Irvins look better.

Thanks for the advice anon. Also lemme ask another question, do you know by chance some kind of guide/chart which identifies all the different types a1, b2, ecc

It's tough to find a guide, but I can at least give you some general info because specifics would be too big.
A1 is a flight jacket that was introduced between the World Wars, phased out before WW2 in favor of the A2.
A2 is pretty iconic, if there's such a thing as "the" flight jacket, it qualifies. Guys wore them in public after WW2 and many civilian jackets were patterned on it.(Think Indiana Jones)
G1 is the post WW2 jacket that replaced the A2. (Think Top Gun)
It's tough to find info on bomber jackets, but from memory the designations given aren't numerical.
There was B2 before the B3, but it used too much leather and was phased out. Late 30s and very few made.
The B3 is the heavy shearling jacket the US Army used for its bomber crews at 30k feet in WW2. There wasn't an airforce made yet, all air was the army.
The B6 was a lighter version of the B3, still a heavy shearling jacket, but it was shaved closer. These did have pockets and a biswing back + epaulets.
The D1 was the mechanic/ground crew for guys stationed in cold areas of the world. It was a very simple jacket compared to the B6 despite being similar. Both the B6 and D1 have internal pockets, a unique feature among these old flight jackets.(many mall jackets have pockets patterned where they were not)
ANJ4 is a heavy jacket on the level of a B3, but it is more elaborate and was made for the US Navy.
The "Irvin" is the British version of a B3 made for their troops, they're not patterned the same but are of the same weight shearling. They have a darker fleece though.

In the original it was closer to a B6 or D1, but the remake is definitely Schott's B3, they even licensed it.

Lost Worlds is another good jacket maker as well as Good Wear. Both of these are enthusiast repro companies without much notoriety, they don't make many, and I think you can generally pin the maker down to one guy.
Lost Worlds has a good example of a B2 repro, basically they had one external pocket on the left side, alpaca wool lining, sheepskin collar, made of horsehide.
Like I mentioned earlier, it's tough to get good information on bomber jackets specifically becase many iterations were made inbetween wars and had very few examples.

Buy it with a darker fur (it's wool but lets call it fur). It'll look better for longer and it'll be more tolerant of you wiping stains with a damp cloth. Black > brown > ginger > white for the fur.
