Which has better design/proportions/utility/etc?
They look virtually the same so might as well just get the chinese version for 1/10 of the price, the chinese copies are actually higher quality than the real thing.
>>18366744yeah no one else would know, but i would
Proportions are subjective and utility is a macroscopic meme, so I'll tell you about the aesthetic only. The one on the right has better colors and better hues. The one on the left has a better bezel due to the deeper teeth, like in a cogwheel. The rest is irrelevant. Also, you're annoying.
>>18366740the tudor is the cuck's choicecome service time the movement is removed, disassembled and sent away for recyclingthey place a mishmash "reconditioned" movement back into your watch and present it to you as if your watch had its specific movement individually and painstakingly serviced by a single watchmaker rather than them shoving in some horological sloppy seconds into it because it's cheaper for them to do it that wayshitter brands like tag etc., have done it this way for yearsrolex services the watches as they come inone of the tested skills required to be a rolex watchmaker is to be able to service several datejusts in one daytudor's "watchmakers" just have to follow a youtube tutorial for removing the movement from the watch, like shucking oystersknowing this, which product feels more "luxurious" to you?the tudor is cheaper for a reasonthe option for the "cheap option" luxury watch/jewelry isn't very luxurious
>>18366754>come service time the movement is removed, disassembled and sent away for recycling>they place a mishmash "reconditioned" movement back into your watch and present it to you as if your watch had its specific movement individually and painstakingly serviced by a single watchmaker rather than them shoving in some horological sloppy seconds into it because it's cheaper for them to do it that waysource?
>>18366758look on WUS in the rolex&tudor boardcaused a lot of seething and butthurt when posters found this out, direct from tudor you can ask them and they will tell you this straightbut they are relying on the implication that "servicing" a watch means servicing your specific watch's movement, not giving you someone else's they prepared beforehand, so nobody asks
>>18366758The lowest level of brand you can buy that ensures that your watch is serviced, really serviced as it was in the past and not just movement-swapped, are Rolex and Omega. Everything below omega tier just does a swaparoo because it's the cheapest, fastest method. As shit as Omega is these days they at least abide by this method. Tudor doesn't even do this.
>>18366740I'd still chose the Rolex because on the Tudor i don't like:-Gilt (i'd rather be all steel, neutral cold colorimetry)-snowflake hand-rivets on the bracelet-bracelet integration not as good-no white gold
>>18366770how about IWC?
>>18366740San martin
neither
>>18366943Shilling frenchie
>>18366740Explorer 1 mogs both

>>18366754>>18366764>>18366770What's the problem with getting a new movement inside your watch?
>>18366740submariners look like shit.. Oyster Perpetual smooth bezel lays waste to these awkward chunky monstrosities
>>18366745And?
>>18367827Not everyone is a forgetable little manlet
>>18366745you buy one if you ever find the moneybelieve me, once you get your first scratch you would pray for the watch to be JUST a replica
>>18367850i kinda like making your tool watch personal by way of scratching it up
>>18367922But it's not a tool watch. Hasn't been in 50 years
>>18367933it can be if you use it like one
>>18368042Yeah and I can use a hand drill too if I want to larp
>>18368048take back the Rolex identity from the wall street desk jockeysAnd it starts with you
>>18366744Until you open the casback and you find the shittiest miyota that money can't buy
>>18368063Or I can just buy a power drill
>>18366754Anyone who doesnt like TUDOR and just defaults to Rolex is a mentally deficient imbecile. The inventor of the Rolex Sub is the same person who designed most of the Tudor watches. They have updates for quality of life that are missing on the Sub. Same dependability, none of the pretense. I have both.
>>18368293imo the actual point is that hating Tudor because it's cheaper and because they don't actually repair a fucking 3mm wheel but instead replace it with a new one, is ridiculous npc mentality. theyre two different things, one uses a Mercedes hand and the other a Snowflake hand, one is b/w the other has colour, one has a fatter bezel and the other is finer, etc etc. you are allowed to like the shapes and the designs you like jesus fucking christ. only a retard buys a watch depending on how they service it TOPKEK
I wish the Pelagos 39 would have the little accents around the hands and indicators like the Black Bay. Want all the squares but also something a little more fancy looking.
>>18366740I like my Rolex Oyster Perpetual datejust because it looks very unassuming. Most people think its a walmart watch and I find that hilarious. Only had 1 guy who worked as a gas station attendant sus it out at the register. If I want something flashy I wear one of my Seiko Presage series watches. The dial on them is a work of art.
>>18366740Use to work with a guy who got a nice submariner, back during covid times where the only way to get one was knowing a guy and you still had to wait 12+ months. He knew a guy who knew a seller who hooked him up in a month. He told me if he could do it again he'd just get the Tudor for cheaper. I could never, every part of the design just looks slightly off. Things are either too big or too small it just looks weird. The hands are simply atrocious.
>>18366740seiko cope if you must
>>18368063barf inducing cringe. you can see how uncomfortable it looks in all the pics.
>>18366740Tudor looks a little more refined IMO with the smaller ridges on the bezel, gilding, and red marker. However I would get a BB58 with a Master Chronometer movement instead of the regular Black Bay. I admit the hour hand is a little odd but it has grown on me over time. Before I am accused of coping, I have no desire to own either of these watches.
>>18366754>>18366764cant i just go to an independent watchmaker?
>>18367819they charge you a grand for the new movement also ship of Theseus and all that
